You've probably seen them, but there is around 4-5 active threads all discussing the same thing right now (that being morality in anime or whatever), and I feel like it's the same thing as AoT vs FMAB or lolis or whatever.
Why do people do this? When there's already a thread discussing a certain topic, why make another one?
Especially when most of the time it's either the same exact thing or just bait to get a reaction of out of users.
And the worst part is that all of them get 100s of replies and attention, which only overasturate the forums with the same garbage, burying far more interesting discussions.

I just think it's weird that despite how large the forums are, the popular threads are very repetitive things we've heard many times before and a contest to attract attention while users like @Adimus_prime are singlehandedly keeping interesting discussions alive on these forums.

yes, I just wanted to rant about this lol

They think their opinion is more important than everyone else's so they make a whole separate thread to try to get heard. Really pathetic tbh

recycled threads are a fundamental nature of every forums especially here where the rules are so strict there is a limited amount of topics to make threads about

yeah idk why they do this, they obviously got the idea from another thread so why dont they just reply to that one instead? seems kinda dumb to me

I agree, but you also have a generally false assumption that without those threads in your examples everything would be better.

Instead it'd be the millionth "what's your all time favorite anime thread" or various forms of threads using the terms overrated and underrated. Very engaging. It's pretty rare to see a truly unique thread.

2 days ago I created a morality poll to ask for the stance on the topic. I had not realized that there was one other thread created by a user claiming morality was used as an excuse to criticize Redo of Healer as it was pushed to page 2. By the time I finished creating the thread, a I saw that thread a few threads below mine, as someone had commented on it while I was typing up my thread.

I do not know about the others that were created after mine.

The problem really is that it's either one of the two extremes here, a completely inoffensive topic or one to specifically offend other people and get attention.

Yeah, it's annoying. But it will die down when the next hot topic comes around. It's just a constant cycle.

to forge a path into the marrow of the spirit.
They chose to drown in a deeper vacancy,
an emptiness that quells the null,
a pool for the forgotten..."

it's an endless cycle of
overrated topics. users get bored
post underrated topics to counter it (big brain move)
then the rest gets fed up and tries to get creative but it only lasts until they start composing the title.
we get genius threads such as "what's the best anime?" and "how hard do you cringe at fanservice?"
then it becomes a battlefield of troll topics until it's all flushed down the toilet.
then the cycle begins anew.

never seen a more scarily accurate view of MAL users.
just goes to show doesn't it.

That is why, because they're repetitive, the next thread's replies always dumb and funny, at least give me daily dose of MAL community retardness

It would be nice if we didn't have to see the same threads repeated over and over. I've been seeing the forum saturated with threads related to the war between AOT and FMAB fans. I actually created a thread recently complaining about the war. All of us have different opinions on what animes we think are better than others. But it would be nice if people kept their opinions about it without being toxic and annoying. The same goes for threads about lolis. Most people can't easily identify whether characters are lolis are not since a character's age may not correlate to their physical appearance. Often times most people don't think about that kind of stuff since it's fiction.

The average age of a MAL user on here is probably about 14, so there is that. The vast majority of threads aren't going to be high-IQ talking points.

The threads on moral issues do not seem bad to me, since you can share ideas with other people and show some thoughts that they did not have. Those that already seem tired to me are those of Aot vs FMAB, mainly because those threads tend to contradict each other easily.

If every sort of question only ever got one thread, this site might have died ages ago. Some people miss certain questions because they're not online every single hour to notice repetition. A topic that's been discussed before coming around again let's them be involved with what they missed

Guess what? Everytime the forum is heated up about something, some asshat will make a thread about "Urgh, why can't you just stop UUURGH."

it's the forum cycle. repetitive threads keep it alive and that. there are boards outside of anime discussion just so you know. the issues you brought up are mostly exclusive though not limited to this shithole subforum with aot vs fmab and milf vs loli nonsense.

Your quote has nothing to do with what I wrote. You wanting to rant does not make you not part of the trend of ranting about <insert current hot topic>

It is a weird situation because as much people complain about repetitive threads like "most overrated/underrated anime", "unpopular opinions", or "favorite anime opening" people still give threads like this that we have seen a million times the most attention while simultaneously giving the actual new interesting threads fuck all attention. It is honestly laughably hypocritical.
