| The title says it all. Mine is Dazai Osamu from Bungou Stray Dogs. He is such a fun character despite being based on like the most depressed Japanese author in existence. Edit: Gilgamesh from The Fate Series is based on a King of Mesopotamia so he gets an honorable mention as well. |

| Ever single person from Vagabond (but it’s manga only) But Gilgamesh from Fate is also great, it’s super interesting to watch him in anime after reading the Epic of Gilgamesh, his character aligns perfectly with the written character, a king of Uruk who was basically a Demigod and the most powerful man at that time and his character is canonically a schemer, the same way he schemed to turn against the Gods in his Epic. It can all be seen in the anime, really good job. |

Shouta Aoi showing up in Gal to Kyouryuu is the funniest thing I've ever seen, extending the Pop Team Epic shitpost. SO I'm sticking to that, haha. |

| Sugimoto Saichi. He is based on Hiroshi Funasaka. He was a real badass. Akakabuto. Akakabuto is the main antagonist of Ginga Nagareboshi Gin. He was a bear that was 12 meter tall and weighed 5000 kilos. He is based on Kesagake who was a bear that terrorized a small Japanese Village. |

My favourite iterations would be the ones in Gintama & Golden Kamuy.He didn't get much limelight in Drifters.But his one off with Toyohisa was awesome. |

| Well, Rock Lee is my favourite Anime character overall. Just love his goofy personality mixed with his work ethic and underdog story. Im like 99% sure he's based on Bruce Lee, so I guess Lee is my answer to this question. |

| I recently found out Ikkyuu san was based on a real buddhist monk. I don't know any other character that was based on a real person. Edit: now I remembered sengoku basara characters were based on historical figures it has many cool characters. |
