Another average episode where they spend most of the day shopping. What emotions am I supposed to get out of this one?

What were you expecting going into this show? Surprised you haven't dropped this yet.

I wouldn't drop something unless I deem it very bad. This is just average to below average for me. I just don't see how it contains any emotional value and what impactful moments the anime tries to aim for other than the fact that they're a married couple.

A fantastic episode as always. Really mature behavior by Aya even after that.
Them both being embarrassed was the funniest thing in this episode. Well, that's the case of every episode so far.

You have quite a bit of time and a different approach to watching anime I see, that being said, it doesn't change what you were supposed to expect going into the show. It's clearly meant to be just sweet and wholesome, with most moments to play off as jokes rather than an intense buildup for some emotional payoff. It's simply not that kind of romance show. I think everyone sees what you're saying and doesn't think you're wrong, it's just extremely weird as to why you'd point it out. I wouldn't watch Teasing Master Takagi-San and then complain about where the emotional moments are, wondering why they're still only doing comedy sketches every episode 3/4 of the way into the series. I mean I could. But I don't think most people would.

Cringeworthy show. I have it down to 4/10 now. The obvious next step is to impregnate the girl. Watching every awkward moment of it is painful.

The only good character is Kaname. Everyone else overreacts, especially the parents.

I am intrigued by a supernatural or surreal possibility in Tsukasa though. It seems to be hinted at here and there. Could be the only saving grace for the show.

Well, Saki and Wataru are present too, though I don't remember him being a landlord

There was twice this episode I wanted to slap Nasa, some things you don't do, even to your wife!

I don't really think the second Nasa outfit really worked for this Tsukasa. In a vacuum it's fine, but not Nasa's wife
The getting underwear reminds me of Dual, he goes through a lingerie store in the first episode

I don't know about Japan, but here in the US, we're supposed to have a physical copy of SSC and not supposed to keep it with us

  • Might be the first time someone has ever used the word "proof" to describe it.
  • Was this the first episode with no references to other anime/manga etc ? Am I forgetting something? (Opening doesn't count because it was there last week too)
  • Guess they're moving in to the new apartment next week.

I am not a big fan of "cringe worthy" anime. That is what all the episodes boil down to.... just scenes of embarrassment followed by sincere feelings. The sincerity carries the cringe scenes for me but this episode was probably the worst for me. Both main characters are basically good internally and nice to watch until it comes to things that might only be an embarrassment in the 1920's. It's like I am watching a Victorian arranged marriage placed in modern day.

idk, it's kinda endearing to me. it's also pretty fresh and unique compared to pretty much all romance anime I've seen prior.

Fresh? Its about as tropey as it gets. Holding hands, blushing & constant embarrasment. Its like watching kids pretending to be married.

Nasa reacted very well to the fact that the apartment was burned, although I think there is no reason to cry over "spilled milk". But thanks to Kaname, he and Tsukasa got a place to live temporarily. The misunderstanding with Aya was resolved very quickly, so much so that they didn't even let her have a flashback and with the right to exchange barbs between mother and daughter.

Nasa and Tsukasa finally found a temporary place to stay. That's great!
Well maybe not! Cause Kaname will be there to intervere their lovey-dovey moments! XD

Poor Aya, she's now become the next victim of NTR. But luckily she recovers faster than other victim of NTR and decides to become Game-streamer Youtuber Ayapi! xD
And there goes Nasa's inner pervert. Wow Nasa sure is quite aggresive and quite scary when it comes to Tsukasa! (dat Kaname's hair on the top left is hillarious) XD

Overall, this episode is so hillarious! I can't wait to find more funny moments in the next episode! xD

Kaname is a witch! Remember she said in Ep 4 (I think) about the house burning down?! She's psychic 😄

The lingerie store scene was so funny. I remember when I first went into one of those shops to buy a bra and I had a similar thought process to Nasa, except mine was "Am I allowed in here? I'm not an adult yet!". Lingerie stores are pretty terrifying at first haha

haha.. poor Nasa.. busted by Kaname while thinking perverted stuff in bath XD...
good grief Arisugawa household let NasaTsukasa for awhile in the bathouse while they are looking for a new place.

Loved the beginning part of this episode where both of Nasa & Tsukasa shows their admiration and adoration toward each other in each of their monologue.

after all this episode finally poor Aya realized, that her crush and 1st love, Nasa already marrried with Tsukasa. Her reaction was so hilarious and priceless..even in the end after she put out of her heartbreak feelings, she congratulate them both on their marriage.. with fulll of joy she even make a hilarious resolve and remarks as she want to be a youtuber and streamer in the end haha... aside of that Arisugawa's mom was also hilarious when he refrlecting Aya heartbreak on her runaway husband XD....

.. Nasa's getting perverted and curious about her wifey underwear and sniffing them.. and.. get busted again by Kaname haha.....

haha.. once again Nasa's straightforward pervertness against his wife emerge again in laundry service knowing Tsukasa didn't wear anything underneath her sport jersey XD

Finally to fix the lack of clothe problem, they going to shopping on Harajuku together to buy some clothes and underwear XD,.. Nasa getting excited on choosing clothes for Tsukasa, what an adorable moment.

In the end after finishing shopping underwear for Tsukasa, Nasa's perverted mind arising again.. wishing on seeing her cute wifey on underwear haha...and they both blushing together adorably XD... even.. the cloud taking shape of bra & panties at the end of the episode hahaha...

Somehow im very confused why so many people think this show is in the top of scores? (8-10/10) generally this was one of the better episodes the show has to offer since there wasnt anything wrong with it in a general sense. But as every episode this feels rushed and more cringe then funny. Usually people are overly critical with shows but on this specific show people somehow overlook all its flaws and just focus on what they want to see. I've written under an episode of the show (i think it was episode 3) that answering the "are you related" question the way she did was only there because the plot demanded it, to later on cause conflict (which it did in this episode even though it was tossed asside really fast). I honestly fail to see the wholesomeness in the show because there hasnt been much context to any of the characters/ they are not given the time to grow through problems they encounter.

IMO the show is as it basic as it gets and im honestly a little bit sad thatpeoples standarts are that low. sorry to trashtalk a lot of peoples taste but yea there has been shows that did a better job and even the intro is a bad attempt of a rip off. (looking at chuunibiyou intro)

Their entire apartment was burned down, but hopefully, no one got hurt. I find it hard to believe that a lightning strike was what all it took to burn that entire apartment, though.

Poor Aya. She had no idea whatsoever that Nasa got married. But I'm glad that she is trying to get over it. I hope you will find mutual love in the future, Aya!

A really entertaining episode as always. Looking forward to the next one.

By the way, why was Nasa covering his nipples instead of covering his peepee? (Yes, I call it 'peepee')

That was a fine episode. Tsukasa and Nasa were lucky that they quickly found a new place to live. The shopping scene was pretty boring, though.
There were too many conversations about pantsu which was kind of annoying. Overall 3/5 I guess.

Opinions and preferences.
Unique premise and approach to the rom-com genre, likeable main characters and enjoyable interactions between them. A main couple that actually acts like a couple (whether you think their behavior is childish or not, they've gone further than the vast majority of anime couples, who will not confess to each other until the end of the series.)

So first of all. Yes it was a different setting but lets be honest it was kinda from 0 to 360°. there has been no pre setup. it was just "holy shit shes hot" and then he stupedly walked on the road. But lets put the trashtalk aside for a moment and look at it objectically. First of all a 10 is a litterally flawless anime. it is an anime that you can no faults in and is at the top of its game which this anime clearly is not. it is if you compare it directly to other rom coms like love hina, ladys vs buttlers, chuunibyiou, Korewa Zombie Desuka and others not better nor does it go deeper into character. it keeps it at surfacelevel which in my opinion is bad. i can agree on the ridiculous stretch of other anime that never ever or very late confess like asu no yoichi or nisekoi and just keep it at as imple harem. it is unneccesary and stupid which this one doesnt. it is equally stupid to just jump into it. love needs time.
Just dont stretch it too much.

to your second statement about one of my favourite series. it depends which part youre refering to. the first season of chuunibyiou was great in my opinion just for the fact that the status quo had to be broken and it never really has been a harem but rather a get to know each other. that is how it usually works. season 2 was pointless and bad. it added nothing and was just stupid. the movie though is what season 2 should have been since it litterally involved proposing and coming of age. This anime in comparison just lacks dept so far. it goes: oh my wife is so cute when she does X then we have blushing characters and forced missunderstandings. this is no development nor is this character growth.

i think its fair to rate this anime anywhere between 4 and 7 and for 7 youll have to have an extreme bias.

I can easily compare both edits with each other. both have the same editing style. the problem isnt with the song itself nor is it with the shown video footage within the intro (even though i got hit hard by the CGI bell at the end). it is just that they are fundermentally similar. chuunibiyous intro was created in 2011 though and this is recent. it feels extremely old for how new it is. followed by my own opinion: the song is a missmatch with the type of footage that is shown. Yunomi usually produces electronic/ J-Pop like Kizuna Ais Sky High or Yellyfish or trackmaker. those on its own sound good. but imo just arent fit to set the mood for this anime.

-----------------------------
Edit: whats wrong about those ratings. youre comparing 2 different animes from different genres here. also havent finished demonslayer. but i actually didnt find it too great. it wasnt bad. it was enjoyable. but overhyped.

I would even say that chuunibiyou OP is kinda bad (not song) like 0:26-0:47 basically begs for some controversy with an epilepsy attack it was edited so strangely.
Manga recommendation:
- Spy x Family (Ch.107/? - biweekly) | Sakamoto Days (Ch.191/? - weekly)
- MARRIAGETOXIN (Ch.108/? - weekly) | Machi and Oboro (Ch.16/? - biweekly)
- Make the Exorcist Fall in Love (Ch.78/? - biweekly)
- You and I Are Polar Opposites (Ch.65 - Finished)
Anime recommendation:
- Deca-Dence (Finished) | Wave, Listen to Me! (Finished)
- If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die (Finished)

i would say they have the same concept so ye. both are epilepsy hazards. I could go more into dept and really over analize it but i dont think that would be cool. A show is meant to be enjoyed and beeing too nitpicky isnt healthy either. So ill leave which intro is better to the individual. what i was hinting at is that one was produced in 2011 and the other recently. with todays possibilitys it could have been way better and its own thing rather than beeing similar. Maybe im really looking too closely into it. doesnt change that in my point of view the thing is kind of compareable to SAO vs other isekais. SAO also had an "original concept" but didnt do anything with it. similar to this anime has an interesting concept but doesnt do anything with it.

Edit: maybe SAO is even a bit too much. id say its more like The smartphone isekai

@Zerephiehell Like I've said in my linked post, this is mostly a SoL romance, plot and drama are absent here, so either you enjoy the characters and their interactions, or you don't.

The premise is unrealistic, yeah.
First of all a 10 is a litterally flawless anime. it is an anime that you can no faults in and is at the top of its game which this anime clearly is not.

"Flawless anime" doesn't exist, it's just a matter of what you consider good enough to get a 10/10 score. Just as you can find faults in this anime, I could find faults in other people's 10/10 anime.

Alright maybe that was a bit badly expressed of myself. what i mean with flawless is either somethign that cant be reproduced because thats what a masterpiece is or something thats at the top of its game like Hajime no Ippo Mangawise for sports and Red Line (Anime Movie) for racing.
I just dont think that this anime is the top of its game when it comes to any of its genres.
Even Slice of live comedy wise id still put it behind "demongirl next door".

If it's unrealistic, how is it good? That's what plot contrivance more or less is. Sure, it offers more but what else does it offer? The main catch of the show is dry humor involving two couples that act like 10 year olds in a relationship. Does this anime make your heart skip a beat like typical romcoms? What emotions does this offer to you and how does this anime convey it? Even other SoL anime tend to have more to offer. For example, a plot involving a school band, characters doing a variety of silly things, or character drama that induces emotional thought. This show is about a couple doing mundane things like shopping. It doesn't appear to offer anything other than humor involving two characters who seem to have never been exposed to any form of sexual education.

If anything, those kind of protagonists are the most cringe, for two reasons:
-They are solely made for self insert.
-They never get shit done. If you are going to take it back when it matters then you are as wimpy and annoying as any other ecchi MC.

-----------------------------------------------------
Kaname was clearly the highlight of the episode.

Life Goals XD

Kaname had me cracking up this entire episode!

I loved the view point of Tsukasa as well. Giving us ,the audience, reasons why she loves Nasa. Such a good episode.

Took a break for a few weeks. For whatever reason, this episode didn't vibe with me as much as the previous 7. Weird.

Aya for dumbest character of the year, poor thing.

Remember this, young patawan, we are all naked under our clothes. ;)
Which one do you want? An Addiction or A Good Life?
A) Addiction - a progressive narrowing of the things that bring you pleasure.
B) A Good Life - a progressive expansion of the things that bring you pleasure and includes pleasure through motivation and hard work.

It is incredible that one can show no emotions when his home is completely burnt! 😂 Normally he will be shock at first though he has well prepared for the unexpected……

The part of buying underwear reminded me of the time when accompanying my gf to the underwear shop, and I really don't know where to look. 😖
