| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- FunimationCon aired the first episode today. It's a hoard of slimes! Yup, this is definitely an anime out of a fantasy world. Ryouma (main protagonist) seems like a good natured kid although I feel bad for him since he lost his family members. I guess the adventurerers he's met so far are trustworthy. I think he's got a lot to learn in this world of uncertainity though. And slimes! The introduction of the God also has my interest. This is off to a fun start. |

| Had nothing on this one since it's not airing this next season, reminded me of the first episode of dragon ball when goku meet bulma, but here it's in a fantasy standard isekai. I might pick it up again when it airs, good thing that Funimation will soon be available in my country |

| Ah crap, I missed this. Had it playing on a new tab but I was too busy with the Real Life Shokugeki going on at the exact same time over at Anime-Expo YT Channel (which was simply fab, btw). From what I saw, the animation seemed so-so but I'm guessing it'll be a fun adventure kind of show nonetheless. Looking forward to this in Fall! |

| The 2nd of 2 shows this season for newbie studio Maho Film, and WOW is this super colourful for a fantasy Isekai series like Tensei Slime, that's unlike the other "I'm Standing on a Million Lives." REKT, 2 different types of Isekai by a newbie studio this season. An adventure-fantasy SoL for an Isekai, that certainly gives off the light-hearted vibes. Ryoma...I'd fear he would be another hidden OP MC, but apparently not. And I THANK GOD this isn't a repeat of Isekai Smartphone...truly "By the Grace of the Gods" to be something cliche, yet different. And researching slimes for a start... So-so start...going into an adventure is gonna be goofy. |

| It has a very soft and colorful theme, it gives you a fresh air. How he died was unique but other than that is generic isekai. I wonder if that girl is potential love interest? |

| Wow so this was an isekai and while it felt a bit generic at first look but it was much more amusing than I thought. The protagonist seemed likeable enough and the other characters he saved looked like nice people too. Reinhart's sister/The blonde loli's proly the heroine and she seems like a lovely young lady. OP and ED were okay. Visual and animation seemed fine too. Surprisingly I liked this premise quite a bit, here's to hoping this will be an enjoyable ride. |

 Like these funny God of Creator said, the setting pretty much full of a clicheness from every anime i used to watched before. The show had no shame to proved the cliche concept always interesting, even from its first episode. Nice! XD What else? There you were, a powerful kid, that had a knowledge from his previous life, and lived with a thousand of slimes! I don't know why but this might be turned out into a typical light hearted series, with a lot of simple adventurous story at every episodes each weeks, typical Shounen jump adventure. I don't really surprised with every cliche elements that appeared in the future, and might enjoyed it 'a bit' as a fantasy sucker. Because, yeah, so far, i need to just shut my damn brain off for a while and enjoyed their soothing moment because of a simple theme within its fine arts style. Also, the slimes design were unique too with a lot of type beneath it. So, thats it for me. |

| As long as they stick with the lighthearted side, I think I'll like this show, though I don't care at all for the animation and art style. Still, I care about story more than looks, so that really won't kill the show for me. |

| I've read the light novel so ... AC9123 said: YES, SLIMES ARE LIFE, SLIMES ARE LIFE. The slimes are very much in focus for the first hundred or so chapters of the web novel. After chapter 150 my thoughts on the light novel can be summarised as "stop getting side-tracked and focus on the slimes" but since I'm still reading it obviously he is still taming slimes even then. Still, even if the story sucks, I will watch it. For the slimes!! :D I hope they aren't abandoned anytime soon. L-Mo-Reppin said: There's no romance. | imagine being a slime and your job a kid assigned you is to eat shit lol anyway, didnt expect Ryoma’s real deceased self is a giant burly man, thought is was well...a kid. yea what a dumb way to die via sneezing, then again it is possible to have brain hemorrhage after years and years of head trauma catching up to you feels wholesome so far and i like how colorful it is |

| if he's actually a little kid then it'd make sense for him to fall for the little girl at first sight, but he is a goddamn OLD MAN why the FUCK is he blushing at the sight of a cute loli??? Ok, there's nothing wrong with liking lolis, but this show is obviously going for the romance route between these two, and that's just WRONG. |
I love the progression of this episode. It spends the first half being as boring and dull as watching paint dry, then it switches gears for the second half and instead barrages you with every godawful cliche of these kinds of things imaginable. Middle aged dude, dies, meeting with gods, granted super powers and reincarnated as a child, status screens displaying his powers, he even verbatim says "Wow, this is just like an MMO!" And then it ends with the harem finally appearing. Not just the one girl, but an entire goddamned zoo of animal girls sings the ED. Now, I actually kind of like the ED. It's the one part of the episode that was animated. Song was nice too though. In any case, it was boring as all hell. It compares unfavorably to the other zillion things of its ilk, whether you're coming at it from the more non-drama dramatic angle of things like Ascendence of a Bookworm, or the fantasy infodump power fantasy angle of things like overlord. Essentially, it takes the worst parts of both, and only teases a tiny bit of fanservice after the actual episode is over. Is anybody really here for a middle aged man cosplaying as a kindergardener, explaining different breeds of slime as men fawn over him for having pet slimes? Is that a thing people actually want? I'm scared that the answer is yes. |
