Well, I picked up on the source material earlier this week, got addicted and blasted through 248 chapters (they're not very long individually).

I feel that the show version is much more adamant at throwing hints, whereas whomever is making the show is very closely familiarised with the whole script and not only the plot for the very first season.

And it is also an interesting experience to see how they tackle some of the scenes differently. Seeing as I'm not an avid reader, this sort of experience is one of the firsts for me.

Start of a new arc. Bam is bland as ever. The obnoxious ranker is such a pushover taking order from blue turtle lol. Explaination about their plan is confusing. New mascot appears. The regulars are shock to know that Bam is irregular. Bam meet the Administrator.

Enjoyable and very interesting. The plot has actually thicken and I'm holding on tight, the small things that happen outside the main cast really makes me question wtf is gonna happen.

I hope Rachel stays crippled.

This episode was one of the better ones I think. The directing felt better, as did the character interactions. Still, the scene where Bam reveals that he is an Irregular wasn't that good. I'd assumed everyone knew since it was never brought up before.

Wow, a decent episode! There was actually some alright character interactions and development. Besides Rak getting small and basically no one, including Rak himself, really reacting to it. I mean like why though?

And I could continue picking out mediocre things like that random white furry thingy being a spy or whatever which was handled terribly, but you know what? I'll just keep this on a positive note. Nice episode.

There's one thing I really don't get, if someone can enlighten me. Why is there such polarizing reception of this show? Reddit seems to love it like if it's best thing since sliced bread. 4chan seems to hate it like if it's the worse thing that could befall the humanity. I just don't get it...

I haven't read the source material yet, well I've read like 10 chapters to check out the art and feel of it, but it seems like a well rounded show. Why are you acting like you started using Reddit yesterday? Don't you know that once you get enough downvotes your comment gets deleted? Yup, as long the reddit perception to your comment is negative, it'll get deleted. You can formulate it whatever you want, it ain't working, it'll get deleted.

Reddit really fucking sucks. As weird as it may seem, Twitter is actually better. At the very least, there won't be mods deleting your shit every two seconds.

It was weird at first but after a bit I was getting the drill. Yeah, either way, it's a good one. Some characters in there did some fucked up things tho.

As for the episode, i'd say it's okay. Better than anything previously shown.

For now, the fighting is over and the characters get a much-needed opportunity to rest and think about recent events. It's nice to see Bam and Rachel rebuild their relationship after a long period of separation, as well as Bam's friends try to help him in any way they can. I'm curious to see what kind of challenges Bam will face now that everyone knows that he's an Irregular, but one thing is clear, the fate of his friends now lie on shoulders. No pressure, Bam.

Tower of God is the show that keeps on giving, character development and fascinating mysteries included. This show is definitely this season's MVP and I can't wait to see what happens next.

First off, baby Rak has arrived. Second, Bam a creep, standing over Rachel as she sleeps. Third, the episode was fine. A lot of people complaining that some changes took place within the anime that the manga never did. I can't comment about those changes since I have forgotten much of the first season. But, the episode was great, I loved the music and the little moment between the yellow haired dude and the mascot guy.

This was the most rushed episode yet holy cow. Almost 8 chapters into one episode. Kinda disappointed in the pacing, but then again, maybe I set the bar too high having read the webtoon already. I just feel like the webtoon did everything so much better with so much more impact. They even altered the results announcement scene. How did anime-only viewers like the episode? Imma have to give this episode a 1.5/5 sadly.

I lost it here LOL. 10/10. Wondering if what the administrator did to Rak is similar to what he did to the guy who failed (but more intense. Like...shibusued his face off). Really like where this was going, but it makes me wonder if Baam originally shared that he was an irregular before. I bet King Jahaad was also an Irregular. (This is some real Divergent shit). I'm sad that this season is ending soon; hopefully Stray Kids will be involved in the next season if there is one.

Also do they ever say how long (or why) Rak was miniaturized?

I liked this episode. That irregular scene was way cooler in the webtoon. Thank God, they kept the daddy scene. That was gold. When I watched Rachel crying, something snapped in my head(more annoying than Bam). Actually break both of her legs so that we can carry her on four shoulders, only true fans will get it.
I'm interested if Rachel seems like a stronger character in the webtoons because she's lacking a little Onee-san energy. One things for sure I definitely need to read the webtoons after this.

Can't believe the episode ended that way, another week to wait for the test to happen. So hyped!

So Bam actually admitted that he's irregular, i do wonder what the moderators think about that since they are dangerous and are forbidden. Otherwise, if they aren't forbidden, probably just some then.

Bam was a little dumb when he started the conversation with Rachel but it was still a great moment, can't believe i actually have seen this in the 1st season xD I was expecting to see their reunion in the 2s.

Rachel can't walk so Bam will take her to the top, hope he will get more motivation now to climb the tower.

Khun was the one who was behind Hoh's ideology, holy s***! If Bam gets to know this...

Pretty solid episode. I've been nitpicking a lot on the series so far. Then I thought the only way to enjoy the anime is to treat it and the Webtoon as a different thing altogether. Therefore I wont care with staff's directing decision anymore and see how it goes. Hell, I won't be surprised if Rachel ended up not doing that at the end of the season, climb together with Bam and live happily ever after xD

It was a pretty good episode, but I am disappointed about the scene where khun acts as if he won't be helping bam anymore. In the webtoon that was the reason everyone helped bam and only rak noticed he was faking, so much better in my opinion

Well one of the main charater designers Tanino Miho said she was a fan of the series before she started working on the show. So while she is not the script director, they might have asked her for pointers? However I am going to have to slightly disagree with you as they have left some importants bits of information that are necessary for season 2..

You got it wrong. Khun didn't set Ho up, he even told Lero-ro that one of the test directors set this up (because they were the only ones who knew Ho was going to be on Rachel's team). What he did was to copy the note that Ho received (because he suspected after Hwaryun told him to be careful with Ho).

I'm glad you're enjoying and please keep up the hype, these final episodes will be great if they do it right, and the second season will be 100x better than the first season. :))

Rachel leaving Bam behind because he was being a nuisance? Can't really blame her, honestly.

Decent episode overall. Far better than the previous one at least. Pacing felt a bit more stable and some character interactions such as Shibisu saying goodbye to Serena were very well handled. Rachel apologizing to Bam was also a good moment if we ignore his initial obliviousness, of course.

OST was superb as always, especially during that confrontation between Yuga and Han Sung.

So Bam decided to expose himself as an Irregular, uh? Don't know why I thought most of the cast already knew this fact but leaving that aside, he will now have to face an Administrator in order to help her beloved Rachel pass to the next floor despite her severe injury. Honestly, I would like to say I'm thrilled about this encounter but considering how predictable the script has been regarding our passive MC, I can only hope for a bit of struggle from his part at this point.

Amazing writing.

actually androsi was the only one who actually killed people, none of the other regulars at hohs funeral has killed a single person on the first test, and in her case she likely doesn't care about hohs death at all but gives pity for the fact that he was weak like her i the past

At least wait for those mysteries to be answered before saying that the execution falls flat.

I don't think that ToG is the greatest piece of media to ever exist, hell I even gave it a 7, but one thing it does do right is it's world-building and mysteries. At least wait until the season finale before you call it overrated and generic.

No, it's overrated and generic now.
Most good shows start that way from episode 1, but we should give this one 100 episodes to "get good"?

Having mystery boxes and lots of unique terms doesn't equal good world-building. The show's setting runs on videogame logic/suspension of disbelief.

i could literally say everysingle thing you say about tog about evangelion, how its overrated garbage it tries to be mysterious but it all falls flat lmao,

judging from your ratings and watch history you seem to have a case of adhd where you don't have a single long runing show on your list and only watch already establish short or completed anime and already come in to a show with an already made up mindset, its like you determine weather a show is garbage or a masterpiece before you watch it through the communities consensus, like MUH berserker MUH galactical heros MUH bebop

and also the fact that almost all your shows you listed at high scores are fast paced trigger, gainax studio works which are very short and full of short fights and stuff like dragon ball with huge explosions and overbudgeted works with sasuga animation shows you really just like style over substance.

and its not that all of these shows are bad per say but they are specifically geared towards a certain taste. seems to me you and your hyper adhd would find something like MONSTER, or 20 century boys absolutely appalling because they have slow starts with small details that tie in for a big reveal

I guess I won't complain anymore about technical issues (that tend to be just meh) or story-telling/world building, because having seen 10 episodes already, every fault that seemed to be for the sake of mistery or because the show was just comencing does not apply anymore. It has a lot of flaws and they (probably) won't dissapear. So my focus in this comment is the one thing that I consider to be by far the most important point at analysing any show: Characters.

God fuck, how poorly written are ToG characters. I'm pretty sure that anyone +3 y/o can write a better character than this. I mean, seariously, no one has any sign of depth. Bam has to be remmembered as the biggest simp in the anime history. Yes, everything about him turns around Rachel, but he can't even do that right, like in the last episode when he almost killed himself in order to protect Endorsi, a girl whom he literally knows for like 2 days or so. And now he is supposed to be affected for the dead of Ho (that he also knows for a few days), the guy that TRIED TO KILL RACHEL. Come on. And the rest of the crew doesn't make it better. Is really everyone so affected for the dead of that guy?? Didn't the show tells ous that the tower is a super dangerous place where everyone can die at anytime? And they do a funeral? Even with the administrators???? They are always saying that the tower is a menace for everyone unless you are super strong or super skilled, but I hadn't sense any kind of threat since the beggining. And yeah, of course all the main cast will pass the test, that has just as much quotas as the crew needs. Boring. And obviusly everyone will help Bam in this incredibly dangerous test, because why not. Poor.

I would love to end saying that everyone in this show is badly written, but they seem to be not written at all. No one has a trace of personality, nor common sense, nor anything. They are just there, and in a number big enough so the autor can do anything he wants with them, and thats it.

I don't want to be tedious, but just a few weeks ago a was considering to read the manga, but with every new episode I lost more and more interest in the characters. So yeah, as I said in my comment of episode 4 or so: in the next episode a meteor could destroy everything and kill everyone and I won't give a fuck.

Now he just needs to direct that devotion from Rachel to Khun. <3

Tiny Rak is so cute!!!
Hope he stays as Tiny Rak for the rest of the season.

The breakneck pace is... I don't know even if you wanted to cram a lot of the story into an episode so that the season can end at a good place, it still doesn't feel like good storytelling. I guess we can't ask for much since all's said and done for this season, but hopefully when ToG gets renewed for a second season the pacing, direction and animation would improve greatly.
But the bad pacing didn't take away that much of my enjoyment of this episode. It was still awesome! :)

I appreciate the anime-original content they put here like the scene with Serena because her leaving wasn't really said in the webtoon. Also loved the soundtracks and backgrounds in this episode!

I was really looking forward to that scene between Rak and Khun talking about Maria and when they fought about helping Bam after finding out he was an irregular, and I have to say I liked how they executed that scene in the manhwa better. If I was an anime-only I wouldn't see any problem with it, but since I know how that scene went in the webtoon I know the really good lines they didn't include, especially the good Rak moments :(

It's far better eps than the entire test yesterday, Chibi Rak is goddamn cute "Papa wa doko kanaa" rofl and somehow everyone is getting closer with each other it's actually quite heartwarming.

Khun really carrying and the one who do a lot in this series, Bam receives a medal of the best anime simp ever and Rachel totally has this shady & untrusting face all over her, i don't like her from the start, she is completely ignoring Bam and doesn't do shit for him in entire eps, she doesn't being friendly as well to everyone so far and i see some glimpse of dislike there where Hatz only invites Bam, clearly that she's not one of their circle, but Bam. In fact it'll be no surprise if she actually hates Bam for also become the cause of her being disabled like that.

I am afraid of our group leaving Evankhell's floor because I really don't want them to leave Lero Ro behind. I like that alpaca quite a lot for some reason!

Yuri coming to get her sword back can't just be a setup for a comedic scene in the future, right? She's taking a long time, so I feel like something important and dramatic is about to happen.

Have we already seen the eye that talked to Bam? It feels familiar but I also don't remember seeing it before in this anime.

I feel like Bam might be a really powerful guy, who was locked in the "cave" for being utterly dangerous. I can't think of any other reason why he'd be there for so long and also have no memory of anything. (Also, Lero-chan had called him a monster when he'd seen him.)

Eye ball (administrator) , we have seen him in episode 6 (when bam made contract with him during position class)
