 Winners of the 2020 Tokyo Anime Awards were announced on Thursday. Judges selected the winners from a pool of 100 titles that either aired or screened between October 14, 2018 and September 30, 2019. | Not surprised at all to see Kimetsu no Yaiba bossing this award fest too. I could've sworn Promare was leading first place for films by a large margin early last month though, looks like the winds might've changed course interestingly. |

| Demon Slayer is the best animation of the year.....Give me a break! All I'm going to say is Demon Slayer is overrated. My picks: Dororo (2019), Shingeki no Kyojin Season 3 Part 2, and Vinland Saga. Keep in mind, these are just some of the shounen shows of this year. Not to mention other animes from other genres. |

| Tenki no Ko over Heavens Feel II? Considering KnY won best anime, and HFII is basically KnY with an actually interesting plot with depth to it... how? I haven't seen Tenki no Ko but I highly doubt it's that good. All I can imagine is that they are rating on eye candy alone (would make sense given KnY winning best anime) and Tenki no Ko is somehow even better looking than HFII. And I could believe that with Shinkai's previous work, but... something tells me this is just about popularity and the name "Shinkai". He could have put out a mediocre film and people would still have gone crazy for it... |

The fandom in Tokyo, Japan for Uta no Prince sama seems to be larger than the worldwide one. The ratings are higher for Uta no Prince sama than for other reverse harem anime too! It's not a shock Demon Slayer won so many awards though. Shounen anime are always popular. Now with 18 male seiyuu including HEAVENS cast. |

| So is this for just for the animation or the entire anime. If it's only about animation, then Demon Slayer deserves it. Yuki Kajiura finally got some attention. Both the soundtracks of Heavens Feel and Alicization were so good yet never talked about in the west. |

It could have won the fan category by there was Yuri!!! On Ice so you know the rest. I think there was also big hype on YoI because as far as I know it even reached the populace outside of its core audience, ppl have regarded Shinkai as the god of anime movie films and there was even a fucking MAL Article featuring him about this on the same line as how I mentioned him, he has reached new heights and ppl have rode and have seen it. Movie awards are meh since CR awards have shown how ridiculous it can get, so even if it's jap medium and they're honoring it to have a cucksucking contest of who they want to win and who they think the ppl want to win, meh I have no time for that. |
