Not sure how helpful it was though (the mangaka had announced that it would be changes for the better about things he regretted, well ...) @Teo999 Ymir didn't eat a mere human, she ate someone from the outsiders expedition to the city. In other words, a "shifter". ,) |

| The things we can imply from Ymir's flashback are: - Ymir was somehow involved with the cult/church. - The police that appeared in her flashback is not wearing the uniforms from the military inside the walls. - They did something to Ymir and then she became a Titan. - 60 years after she became a Titan she ate a boy that was with Berthold, Annie and Reiner. - After that she woke up as a human again in the middle of a desert. Things we know from previous episodes in this season: - Ymir is not a normal human, she can transform into a titan whenever she wants (So does Eren, Reiner, Berthold and Annie). Take this informations and think whatever you want to think. Theories are welcome. But confirming it without a spoiler tag is very unkind to only anime watchers. Anything people say here that is beyond those things above is a SPOILER from the manga. |

A lot of anime-onlys are still coming up with theories regarding that here on this thread. I'm seriously just concerned about people who don't like spoilers :) SnK is not a series about exposing things in your face like you are a stupid baby that need everything straightforward (well, it does, but later with a "didn't you figured it already?" aura). Were we suppossed to know that the female titan was Annie before the reveal? Yeah, of course. This anime/manga is not subtle with major points and don't try to hide the things. People is making assumptions but more directed towards Ymir background (that flashback was handled bad for me, the soldiers arresting her shouldn't have appeared) than shifter powers. This episode made clear that Titans are people, but didn't they seriously came with that knowledge after watching Connie's mother? The basement doesn't have the explanation about where the titans came from, people needs to have realized it before that point, the basement explains the current state of the world. |

Titans do not eat animals fyi, and the horses are train to follow them and are very obedient, as you saw in the first episode mike whistle and the horse came running towards him before the beast titan snatch him away. also that is not a plot hole, because that has nothing to do with the plot. But if you are going to nitpick that, you might as well talk about how the characters has their back turn while talking in a forest full of trees without getting hit by one of the trees. But you don't see anyone pointing that out, because not everything in anime is grounded by reality and that is why there is a thing called suspension of disbelief. But if that is the best criticism you could come up with in this episode, then that speaks volume of how great this episode was. |

This is just one criticism I wanted to point out in this specific episode. "Titans don't eat horses." Fair enough. There's no way the horses would catch up to Mikasa in time, though. It's just a little too convenient there. Other of my criticisms include how they never state how many people there are exactly. So, for example, when someone fighting the titans dies, that side character is immediately replaced by another side character. And the show keeps this cycle going as if they're an endless resource. Eventually, it starts to lose its "believable" dystopian setting. |

| I feel that there was a huge regretion in the animation! Like, they were practiclly just flying! The DMT wasn't necessary for anything! Titans now fly! And Ymir's past, interesting that they showed us that now but it already reveals some deep sh*t about ******... But over all, a 6/10 episode! |

| I think anime does a nice job in revealing what should've been revealed earlier. It's not like we didn't deduce how she turned human immediately after this chapter. Also we get to know more about Ymir |

Uhm, they tell you so in the ep :P Did you pay attention? You're saying people have spoiled something in this thread. I've gone through most of the replies and they're only talking about stuff that happened in this ep. That's not spoiling. If you haven't watched the ep yet and come here to read the thread, then it's your own fault for getting spoiled. Writing guesses about future events is just that, guesses, not spoilers. |

| One Big Episode again, but yet another questions. Insanity level of soundtracks this episode. -But Ymir's past actually doesn't answer a question for me as an anime-only fan but puts hints at everything. I love to think rather than being in a complete shadow. So that's nice. -Glad to find Jean back on track again. -But Reiner to mention that Eren also doesn't remember that he ate someone? So he may have done something cruel in the past? like the first human he ate and it seems that he was young (after his father injected him). -Ymir wandered for 60 years in titan form, seems age has no effect on her look because she was in titan form for those years. -Hannes seems to have another motive that just reverting back to old good days. -Now that we reached this point It's obvious that there's no way titans can't be people but not everyone can shift, But I really can't understand anymore beyond that. One clue as well is that Monkey titan command titans to stop Before Micke is gone. So they have some sort of understanding. -Ymir was Punished along with many people. There's no way all those are titan shifters. the Side OVA even can help at this case. For who didn't watch it to not get spoiled: -The last wonder is about the Monkey titan then comes now, If roaring encourages a titan to attack him. How they didn't ran to him at that night? Titans seems to not understand everything. Or rather I'm missing something. |

| The Ymir flashback was very moving. Not sure how to feel about its inclusion this early though. Guess we'll have to see what animeonlies and your average viewer can take from this before making hasty conclusions and saying it "ruined" everything. |

| Great episode. Eren hitting Reiner with his stumps was funny. Loved Ymir's flashback, although quite sad. So she was injected with something & became a titan. That insert song was beautiful. Looking at the stars & finally attaining freedom was wonderful. Survey Corps & everyone closing in. Ymir taking Historia. Everyone on the Armored Titan was cool. Hannes not letting them get away. The pursuit continues. Mikasa with that death stare in the preview. Can't wait for that. |

I didn't mind that they included that in the anime already instead of waiting with it for season 3. It made the ep very enjoyable for me. I've read chapters 1-80 or more. |
