When your completed anime list is over 300 titles, there's bound to be some entries with questionable quality. Its hard for me to judge too harshly based on one title I happen to see someone watching. As bad as it was, I'd rather rewatch all of Twin Star Exorcists from last season than watch a single episode of Modern family.

I tend to try to find a private corner to tuck myself away to watch anime, but I can't say I have any specific aversion to seeing someone watching out in the open. It doesn't matter what media you consume in public, there will always be someone around with a negative opinion of it.

I've never seen anyone watch anime in public here. There aren't many anime watchers around here anyway.
If I do see someone watching anime in public, I might start talking to them, discuss anime. And if they are serious anime watchers, I might talk to them about otaku culture, waifus/husbandos and other things.

If they are watching shit anime, I will go over to them and tell them GIT GUD M8.

Nothing really. It's pretty normal here.

I sometimes ask what anime are they watching if it piqued my interest.

If it's me, I will definitely approach the person and ask "What's the title?" LOOOOL

I didn't really do anything. As a teenager, it's a pretty normal thing to witness your nearest friends watching anime.

If they're watching a show that i really like, I'd probably strike a conversation. But then again, I'm just socially awkward weebfag so I'd just probably stare them from the distance.

Considering it has only happened to me once, I was just thinking to myself "Oh hey, he's watching Chuunibyou. I should watch that soon."

I once saw a guy reading a Jojo manga.

I assumed he was gay.

Depends on the show, if it's something like Texhnolyze I applaud them for their good taste.
If it's borderline porn or moeshit, I cringe and feel disgusted as an anime fan.

It's only gay if the balls touch, he wasn't gay... he was a real man.

By definition, everything is retro since by the time you realize something has happened it's already in the past.

But Texhnolyze is a shitty show though.

Nice joke, at least watch the show first before making such an absurd statement.

Also go kill yourself while you're at it.
I do plan to watch it, just need to finish Ergo Proxy first.

Eh, nothing ?

Now, if the person is watching porn (live action or animated) I'll roll my eyes because they are better places to do that. And if someone just put their sound super loud it'll annoy me, but that can be of anything, not necessarily anime.

Honestly this has happened to me like 2 to 3 times. Even though they were watching shows I wasn't really that big on, (OP and SNK) I still had the urge to talk to them and possibly become friends with them.

But then I was reminded that I'm an anxious and awkward mess and can't even start up a normal conversation properly.

Only if that person is right next to me, I might start a conversation. Otherwise that would be totally awkward.

Wait, you have to feel ashamed to watch anime? What comes next, hiding your newspaper?

What year is it again? I thought we got our news from the great web.

I don't know why, but when I read what you said I felt as though you may be embarrassed about watching anime. Maybe you feel that way about other people watching anime in public because you're not able to fully embrace as they are. This is just what I felt when reading what you said. For me though, I feel excited seeing other people watching anime. I enjoy anime and it's not often that you come across other people who openly let you know that they enjoy it as well. When I see people watching anime in public I would go and talk with them if I knew them, otherwise I would just enjoy the fact that someone else enjoys anime as well.

I was very sorry about it. A girl in a bar tried to talk with me about animes, but she mentioned many titles I haven't seen unfortunately. Like Naruto, Fairy Tail, Bleach, One Piece. Many long runners and I'm too impatient for most of these animes. ^^"
Therefore the chit-chat died off and she went away after it.

Not really, especially since i myself tend to do it from times to times especially when travelling by train or plane..
