| In the majority of cases, I would consider RE = In regards to. In anime it may serve simply as 'a continuation', often replacing "Shou" or other designations within a franchise. I have never seen other specific uses of RE (I am not familiar with Tokyo Ghoul manga). |

| The prefix Re in front of a word (redo rethink etc.) means the action is being repeated. The RE: abreviation stands for reply and is commonly used in email or text messaging protocol. If you send a message to someone and they respond you will see RE: in front of your subject line denoting it's a reply from the person you sent it to. |

| In Tokyo Ghoul case. In chapter 86 Eto explains that in many languages, like Maltese, "re" means "king". The whole part is about the One Eyed King so its pretty fitting. |

| It sounds cool for the titles. But I think it has so many different meaning. Re-turn, re-play, re-peat, well in the end, we are free to interpret what's the real meaning of it. Also we could assume from the anime plot, is it fitting the title. |
