I'm enjoying the increased focus on Ayumi. This episode points out one very important difference between her and Maya. One improves by hard work, and the other is an absolute natural. But, in this case it's the main character who is the natural. Which is different from how a story like this would normally play out.

But, this show is anything but normal.

another awesome episode! I wonder if Maya will join another troupe. It seems like she might get recruited by that old guy in the crowd that was at her play.

I hope Maya does get recruited by another troupe... but still stays as a member of the Tsukikage Troupe. Is that possible? At least something like that would give her more opportunities to act and earn her some more recognition.

Anyway... It was another great episode! It was interesting watching Maya leap past obstacles that were presented to her. :) She truly is a natural when it comes to acting, huh?

Damn what a performance. The mask scenes @ 16:25 fits perfectly. Go Maya!

I'll never get tired of seeing Maya's mask sequence.

I still don't get it. Maya has already performed against national level pro troupes, solo'd the play even. You'd think people especially troupe leaders would recognize her name.

It is a bit strange, Maya basically won the competition by herself.

They're not exactly being subtle about their acting talents are they, rather they're beating us over the head with it all the time. I get it, they're talented.

Loved how Ayumi turnaround and mesmerized the audience, by switching from Tom to a prince. Simply amazing!

I was also impressed by how Maya recovered from that doll head incident.

I find it hard to believe that none of these troupe leaders know Maya after her performance in the Nationals. You'd think they'd be tripping over themselves trying to get her cast into a play.

Aside from that, I love how Ayumi catered to the children in the audience. It felt very natural and was an endearing scene. It's nice to see that she too has to work really hard to obtain what she desires.

On to the next one!

Ayumi's play is more expanded on here and I think this version did her more justice. It's honestly my favorite scene from hers. I'm excited for a particular scene in the future episodes and if they will expand the difference between the two girls acting (as the 80s version only did a cut scene mostly).
