| Well, yeah. As I said, it differs from person to person. If someone did suicide, then it obviously was the 'easy' way out for them. For mostly everyone else, it's the 'easy' way to simply keep on living. The term 'easy' is by no means universal, as it differs from people to people. Just like many of the terms we use today like 'good', 'bad', 'funny', etc (hell most adjectives). None of these things are universal, or exact. Not everyone would agree that a certain thing is good, and not everyone would agree that a certain thing is bad. As it is, nowadays, there's plenty of authors that write cheap fiction and earn quite a living. As I said, almost everything we do. Suicide just happens to fall in that category. In your example, there's too many factors depending on his selection of 'easiness'. I don't want to hypothetically think of them all at once, for the words would just go on and on. Like for example, perhaps the author no longer care about wealth. Therefore, the choices listed out to him would be different from the ones you have. The easy way out could just be "write whatever I feel like it." And if it happens to be some hard-to-write silly fiction in the view of many readers, then that's just a plus. |

Suicide is ok if you really don't feel life is worth living - at least you'll have peace. Suicide is not hard on the person committing it - only on those left behind. Btw, if I was in the situation described, I'd probably die no matter what due to bloss loss and infection, but I'm just rational... If I didn't, I'd probably get stubborn enough to go as far as possible to survive. |

You still know you're infront of an area that if you fall out, you'll die, your body and mind knows this. The human body is an animal. It has a natural instinct to survive. Your body does not want die. When you're killing yourself, you'll probably feel an extreme ammount of fear before doing so, experience second thoughts, etc..all of which is your body trying to get you to stop. The difference between the people who successfully killed themselves to those who stopped, are the people who were successful were able to overcome the instinct. |
