Personally, I liked the way that the beams narrowed as it got farther along. Seemed metaphorical for the pressure of the Espoir-group gambles as a whole; it seems easy until you start playing, and then the traps come along. The danger here is definately more grisly than the other room, though.

I would've taken off my shoes and thrown it 1. at the guy in front of me or 2. those a**holes at the bottom laughing when someone falls. Great start to a new arc. Agree with Kaiji, don't even bother saying sorry if you're just gonna push them anyway.

I love the different dynamics that this show presents to you. In the first arc it pit Kaiji against all the other debtors, so we grew to hate guys like Funai. However this arc makes me realize that all of these guys, yes even Funai, are just like Kaiji and are just trying to get themselves out of the dumps. You realize that somebody like Funai isn't such a jerk and was just doing what he had to do to get out of this hell..............

Funai was repeater though, and one that I doubt was in the dumps...

Wouldn't Kaiji also be considered a repeater now though since he is doing another gambling game? I'm pretty sure Funai isn't much better off than Kaiji if he was on the boat to begin with.

I gotta say, this is the episode that made me think that Kaiji could potentially be a better anime series than Akagi. I mean, Akagi was awesome, but no episode of Akagi made me sit on the edge of my seat as much as this episode of Kaiji did. You can actually sympathize with Kaiji's dilemma, whereas Akagi was in a league of his own and you could never see yourself in his shoes. I can't wait to watch the next episode to see if Kaiji decides to push his opponents or if he finds another way to survive.

Funai was a repeater on the boat because he had done the restricted rock, paper scissors game before, i.e he knew what game they would be playing before he got on (whereas the others, like kaiji weren't told what gamble it was, placing them at a disadvantage).

Kaiji is gambling again, but he isn't a repeater because he didn't know what type of gamble they would be doing (i.e even though he went on the boat he has no great advantage over the others)

That was an exciting episode! i loved it! i was getting sooo bored with the last two eps. It started to get painfull to watch cause it was so dull and all they did was scream - _-
But this ep was really awesome!
Makes you wonder what the person who wrote the story is like cause... thats some sick games he invented DX

If you think that's bad, you haven't seen Akagi, another series by the same author. That one has a pretty twisted game at the end of the series, too.

The Triad has dropped Kaiji, so we probably won't be getting ep 12 for a longer while, seeing how there's no other group subbing it at the moment :(

1-If the main character don't bring justice in the end of the series, I don't think I'll enjoy it.

Why aren't the guys hanging themselves under the metal rods ? Less chances to fall, and people behind wouldn't have to push you to pass you.

Very nasty atmosphere in this episode. Iwould gladly wish them all dead, but sadly I don't think it's that kind of show where villains get what comes to them.

Woah, that went on a whole new level of sadism. Physical and mental sadism. Truly the deepest scum of the Earth. Well, no, I'm exagerating. But what a bunch of scum.

Anyway, Kaiji sure wasn't expecting that, neither was Sahara. They said that the first one to reach the other side had 20 millions, but they never said that it was the only game that they would be playing. A lot of time for them to end up dying. And talking about dying, they don't seem to be willing to help these men who fell. Will they just let them die there? That would be absolutely terrible. But so exciting at the same time.

I thought Kaiji would have an advantage since I assumed they were going to do another battle of wits. I got the feeling that the rich were betting on their performances, but never thought it'd turn into such a circus. Damn that's gruesome, really disturbing reactions on both sides of the spectrum. Interesting how they delve into that whole notion of the participants crying and apologizing as they wrong their fellow man. Man is capable of the most abominable things, but self justification and remorse clears the conscience.
