It's really frustratng to see Andou completely giving up on the man who saved his life. Other than that, I guess I was wrong about Kaiji not taking the risks to beat Funai and get sent into the other room.
I never really trusted Andou, dugh, but I think Kaiji's reasoning in the beginning was right; if they'd ditched Andou at the start, right after declaring themselves a single entity, they never would've made it. They needed to stay united. And Furuhata has redeemed himself a fair amount in my eyes.
The nudity didn't bug me--I thought it added to the sense of them no longer really being human beings, but now property of the gangsters.
Maybe Andou will change his mind... Who knows... I have no idea how Kaiji's going to get out of this one. But if Andou doesn't repent, Kaiji had better seriously crush him in a future episode. I'm so pissed at Andou that I want to see the guy having his organs sold off in the DVD extras.
I really want to know what happens... It has been a while since a cliffhanger left me itching like this. I've googled the manga hoping to just find out the end, but no luck there. Anyone here watch Akagi? How dark was that story? How likely does it seem that Kaiji really might just get crushed again and again without eventually prevailing? Or is it a given that Kaiji WILL get out of this and go on to get rich and become a great gambler?
Wow, I never thought I would hate anybody in this show more than Funai, but Andou has become public enemy #1.
Furuhata needs to beat him until he can't move, take his stars, and save Kaiji.
It's been a while since anime has left me this emotional and usually when it does it's a feeling of depression from something sad that has just happened. This episode has left me filled with pure rage and anger. I hate Andou!!!!

rofl so much hate. Of course I know that, I didn't go to Triad's website or IRC to ask them why aren't they subbing Kaiji, I asked here because someone MAY know why they aren't subbing (they're not a busy group, they're only subbing Kaiji now).

I have to agree with this statement. It didn't shocked me, but I lol'ed when I first saw Kaiji naked. XD

Anyway, this episode was pretty good. Now I really want to know how Kaiji will get out of that situation (he should kicked out Andou, a long time ago).
Your question is the same thing I'm thinking right now. If the purpose of stripping their clothes was to take away ALL of their possessions, they how the hell did the guy w/ the bad teeth carry his cash?
Andou, that greedy bastard! After all Kaiji did to save him... It was a mistake not to entrust more of the stars to Furuhata. At least Furuhata is making an effort to save Kaiji, since he is the original cause of Kaiji's debt.
Holy fucking shit! Greatest back-stab ever. I can't imagine how that must feel; to willingly place your bets on such a shaky hope, not wanting to believe it could possibly go wry because you want to have trust in humanity, and with so much riding on it (fucking slavery!), then to inevitably have your hopes crushed by something that should have been so obvious. One of the most powerful episodes I've ever seen.
