| Nah, I wouldn't say "Shinji x Rei" was a given here. I think Shinji just cares for Rei, it's not quite romantic yet, I think. I do love this episode, a lot. The first 6 episodes of Evangelion are absolutely fantastic, actually! Sure, Asuka is a great addition to the cast, but I think the episodes that precede her entrance and among the best anime episodes ever! |

| Shinji is opening up Rei's emotion ^_^ I guess he started to adapt to his military enviroment as well^_^... or is it because it's a do or die situation? Funny that Shinji open the hatch like his father did, I think that thing burnt Shinji's hands as well. |

| Shit I'm liking this. I'm really liking this oh man. It's about time they showed clues between Shinji and Rei. Well I'm not sure they'll end up together in the end but a Rei's smile was a good start. Okay so it's good to see that particle cannon with over 9000 power do the job. I really liked the fact that these two Evangelions are helping each other by doing their own role like Rei as the defender and Shini as the shooter. I like it when they act as a team. Well two heads are better than one so I don't know why they're moblizing only one Evangelion most of the time. I'm starting to feel Shinji. I'm thinking the only reason he' wants to know Rei is because she's the only one in the same situation as him. I mean he feels out of place since he's one of the chosen ones. He needs a reason to drive that thing. Seeing Rei's determination made him feel stronger I guess. |
| Well that was quite the nice episode. Plenty of action--not necessarily direct combat (well the positron cannon was pretty cool), but rather the build-up preceding it that made it so much weightier. Not to mention there was really some nice development between Rei and Shinji between the last episode and this one. And what a heartwarming ending ^_^ |

| Another solid episode. Nothing too mind blowing, but, a good episode nonetheless. I was surprised that that Angel went down. I thought we'd see it in at least another episode, but, oh well. Better to progress than to stay in one spot in the story for too long. Looking forward to the next! |

| So to get Rei to smile you just have to kill an Angel with a positron cannon powered by all the energy in Japan. I wonder what it takes to get a laugh out of her. Anyway, it was a pretty good episode and I hope to see even more development for Rei's character soon. |

| Pretty nice episode. Thoughts from Episode 06. Oh man Shinji got hospitalized after that shot from the 5th Angel. This angel seems just too powerful. But in this episode Shinji noticed that it's not so safe to just pilot Eva's because all these things can happen. At least Rei and Shinji got closer in that hospital scene. When they talked to each other more. Nice teamwork all Japan's electricity vs. Angel. Shinji as Attacker and Rei in Defender's place nice combo. Now here is my first question why that Angel tried to attack NERV's headquaters?? Have they some secret information there or what really is there. Well know we know that 5th Angel is Pyramid looking thing which has high tech beam and drill on it's weapons. Misato sure was amazing in this episode she really showed her guts in leader's boots. Managing to invent such a plan in so less time. Though it was risky plan luckily they got rifle to work right on time. So Shinji got Rei rescued like his father did when Rei was hurt. Definitely Rei's smiling and showing her feelings and emotions for Shinji is nice character development from her. But I think why Rei did that because she saw Gendo in Shinji so that's why she could trust him. And also this episode showed that Rei has Shinji in her side. when she thought she had nobody. When she told about that bond with all the people what she really means with that?? |

| From all the animes I've already seen... how could I have not seen this one yet. I remember seeing this anime as a kid and not understanding shit and disliking it, but that's a kid's perspective. I'm totally into this now. Going to marathon it all the way through :D Eva all the wayyyy |

| I like Rei and her emotionless state :p . Seeing her smile was exhilarating. These first set of episodes are great already. I'd say Rei x Shinji but then I wouldn't cause I know better. *face palm* Anyway, onto episode 7 |

| The combat was one of the best parts of this episode, as it shows that NERV is having to steep up its game and use actual planning to defeat the Angels rather then Shinji just going berserk. |

| Old post, but episode 6 was honestly one of my favorite episodes. ;__; It was so touching because Rei and Shinji finally form a meaningful and heartwarming connection. Shinji and Rei are so emotionally damaged/lacking that their expressions of happiness, despite being simple, made me cry. The end of this episode is unforgettable. Ahh, I can't ever get out of my mind Shinji and Rei's smiles. Shinji (almost) confronting sadness and feeling accomplished—Rei simply feeling. They lit up my heart so much and made me forget about the sadness/pain/emptiness from the past episodes. Of course, this also made me lower my defenses and hope for more happy and tender moments, which came amidst lots and lots of trauma and 50x the pain. Ahhhh NGE... |

| Shinji is starting to man up. Good job. The first half of the episode was nothing much, but the second half made up for it. |
| For an all-or-nothing shot that can save or destroy humanity, that wasn't built up very much or felt all that important after it happened. Hehe, and Shinji is such a sensitive 14-year-old boy. I wonder if we'll get to see him grow older and more mature. His sincerity is cute. |
