| Interesting start. Desolate world, zombie monsters, bike with A.I., girl with regeneration, guy in a bear suit......... nevermind its a talking bear wielding a gun lol. Of all things that made me do a double take. |

| Re-reading Biomega, the art is just so amazing and Nihei throws us into another dark world. Zouichi has been sent by Toha Heavy Industries (the biggest mystery for me in the Nihei universum) to clean the city from drones infected with the NSS virus. He finds a young girl named Ion who carries the NSS virus and thus might be the solution for the disease. She is not mutating (for now?) but the virus gives her regenerative abilities, the bear is her guardian and flees with her from Zouichi. I believe the overall timeline is important, the story also takes place on Earth: - 2305: last time mankind set foot on Mars (not sure if it was the first time) - 3005: mankind returns to Mars, we see a black-haired woman without a suit - 3005: 6 months later = present day |

| Soooo... reading Biomega's first chapter I see a bear with an assault rifle asking an adult to hand in the little girl. HOW THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY? It's freaking Japanese Pedobear. I just lost it. |

| How the astronauts on Mars are watched by the humanoid figure was intriguing. Whatever happened, they brought a disease with them back to Earth. The talking bear reminds me of Knights of Sidonia and a Sci-Fi novel, that I've read years ago. |

| I came into this manga with high hopes and seeing a bear with a rifle is so far satisfying my expectations. As usual, fantastic art and boy those splash pages were nice. Love how Nihei's art can speak for itself without so much dialogue to congest the panels. |
