Madoka Magica - Was expecting an average-at-best anime. Holy fuck.

Kimi ga Nozomu Eien - Was left with a real bad taste in my mouth when it came to love triangle romance anime because of School Days, but this ended up being pretty good in the end.

Same with Madoka. Finished it last week. Was expecting a SoL Mahou Shoujo with plenty of moe. Holy Fuck indeed.

B Gata H Kei - Didn't expect it to have an actual plot or romance. Also laughed way more than I thought I would.

Katanagatari also. I didn't plan to watch it when I stumbled upon it but after a few accidental stumbles, I decided to give it a try and I fell in love with it. It's currently in my top 5 anime. Even though every epi is around an hour, it never felt any more than 20 minutes or even less. Time flew by!

I am watching it atm, when i saw it at first it was "uuh wtf it have so poor artwork and seems to be adveture like pokemons of something like that", after watching 4 episodes I think it can be next 10 on my animelist

2nd is Tasogare Otome x Amnesia I didnt expected much, after watching first episodes i got insta hooked in it. I guess its best romance ive ever saw.

3rd is Nyan Koi!, i was expecting it will be another poor harem anime, but comedy in it was freaking awsome!

4th is Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu Ni! It was in my download folder for like 3 mouths, finally there came the day when I hadnt internet and tried this one, probably the best comedy ever saw, and have awsome storyline too!

5th is Omamori Himari, at first "another harem meh", but then "soo cool comedy ecchi romance!"

6th is Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, its the same with Omamori Himari

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Thanks to that old fighting game, I thought it was something similar to Dragon Ball Z. But I have to say I was very wrong, the story is pretty better, characters are much more awesome, and part 2 is being really funny too.

Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai - it looked like an unbelievably stupid harem yet it was actually done extremely right.

Kokoro Connect - I was bored and just decided to watch it for the lulz. Ended up marathoning it in one sitting.

Usagi Drop - The weird animation style and cliche storyline made me avoid this. But in the end, I regret not watching this earlier, such a heartwarming experience.

I don't know how I would've lived had my friend not convinced me to watch Chihayafuru. The best marathon of my life. I didn't think that a sports game, especially one about cards, would be any good, but I learned not to trust myself after watching this.

Clannad. I told my cousin many times that this was a stupid harem series, but I finally convinced myself to watch it. I don't think further explanation is needed.

Ikoku Meiro no Croisee. I didn't think it'd be so heartwarming. I even cried at the end.

Kuroko's Basketball. Same situation as Chihayafuru, except it's not as awesome. The shounen aspects still left me on the edge of my seat, though.

Love, Elections, and Chocolate. I thought this was another throwaway harem series, but I ended up enjoying the political intrigue thanks to Guardian Enzo.

Mitsudomoe. The funky character designs would have turned anybody else away, but it ended up being one of the funniest series I've watched, the other being Ouran.

Yumeiro Patissiere. The competitions in this show make the ones in Hell's Kitchen and Iron Chef pale in comparison.

Azumanga Daioh - My introduction to this was a synopsis that made the show seem pretty boring, as well as a dull screenshot. When I actually got around to watching it, it turned out to be one of the funniest and most clever things I have ever seen. I hate myself for putting it off for so long. I watched it twice in 6 months, almost 3 times if you count the time I spent re watch random scenes on youtube.

I''m just watching Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate to added to my harem list. Doesn't have high expectation and just think it will be the usual harem show. But I'm wrong. The school politic, the character and the plot is very good. And now I'm hoping they would make OVA about Satsuki.

I actually was hyped up for Higurashi from several people, and was expecting something awesome.

But I guess the anime that ended up surprising me the most is 5 cm per second. I knew that anime was good but not great, and once I finished it, I was like "meeh it was good, I'll give it a 7." But then once I re-watched it once I started thinking about everything that was going on in that anime, i truly appreciated it more. To the extent that it is now one of my 10s.

Needless - I hate ecchi, but this anime just made everything so hilarious.
Ben-to - Who woud've thought an anime about fighting for food could be so intense...
Kuroko no Basuke - Not a fat of sports, but damn. Love KnB ♥

School days. Not so much for the ending, that was actually the one thing I saw coming but just the entire time these characters were just so completely dumb you had no idea what was going to happen. And when you think the anime can't get any more twisted, it totally does.

Fate/Zero. I was really postponing this for a long time (around an year or so), then after I watched it I was wondering why the hell I didn't watch it sooner.

Rather than hating it, I was just a tad bored with it on my first go in the first half, but eventually that changed and ended up marathoning it. Perhaps though after so many comments about people hating it because of the characters being uber annoying, I subconsciously took it as a challenge to not hate the cast...somehow that worked. Although, "ANTA BAKA" can get on your nerves after awhile :P

1.Needless - I kind of dislike too much Echi, but that anime was way to awesome to list it as a flaw.

2.Kurokami - I was expecting an bad shonen anime, but it turned out better than I expected. Surely, some bad stereotypes here and there, but it actually handed himself very well.

3.Ben-to - I thought it would be just a good Serious Business anime filled with Ecchi. I was wrong about being good, it was just excellent. Awesome fight choreography, good graphics, and now I can't even look Ben-tos as I did before watching this anime. A must try.
