I had a Dante avatar (which is on my profile) because I like Dante. I love the DMC games. They might like those characters or they like lolis in general. Did you really have to make a thread to ask? |

It's not uncommon for females to use a (sometimes shirltess) picture of a "hunk" as a forum avatar. Hell, it's not even uncommon on your average social networking site. But this thread was merely used to call out grown men who are infatuated with female anime characters who are child-like (in appearance). I doubt OP put much thought into his reason(s) for making this thread, as he did not elaborate on his reason(s) for asking such a question. "This always puzzled me" is simply not enough. |

I never identify someone as either sex based purely on their avatar or profile pic, unless I see it written on their profile, or if I see them refer to themselves as either gender, I work under the assumption that everyone on the Internet is a male. |

It's not really any different than being curious why a user only has favorite female characters in their profile even though he's a dude. Or are you saying a guy is only allowed to have images of male characters as his avatar, his profile pic, in his sig and anywhere else on this site/his page/etc.? |

| so we treat those members better. And also, if you put up a picture of something that people find attractive, you'll remember it better. I would say that most people here find anime women attractive. Why wouldn't they? Same goes for a picture that is considered humorous, weird, or kewl-looking. |
