I'm glad it's over and that it was short, so far the characters are only so-so and the world isn't that interesting. But, at least Roshi will be in the next episode.

Finally Pilaf is out of the way, so is Bulma. Too bad Yamucha had to go too -.-
At least Goku is starting his training now =\

Finally! I got tired of Pilaf fairly quickly. But it was a great into for all the characters. Seeing the Goku's ape form was pretty cool as well.

I'm definitely looking forward to Goku's training. :D

Well that ends the Pilaf Saga. Hopefully the show gets better after this, so far it is very bland. There were some obvious connections to King Kong in this.

End of Pilaf saga, it was a good start, with funny moments and a bit of adventure. Narrator's voice is the same of Muten Roshi? Just wondering.

This is as far as I went as a kid. Hard to believe there's 140 episodes left... I did read a bit further in the manga, but I don't remember anything after the tournament.

No more Bulma... no more ecchi moments?

This episode feels like the last episode of the series or at least they could've made it a 13 episode anime but well I do wonder what they'll show next!

And so ends the Pilaf saga. Really looking forward to the start of the Tournament saga and the introduction of Krillin. It's time for Dragon Ball to step up.

Also the lack of bacon puns this episode when they were trapped in that, ah, "frier" disappointed me.

Oh, knowing Roshi's tendencies, I think (and hope) the creators will add some girls to keep the ecchi part of the entertainment :)

Also, Bulma is not really gone. She'll be back, not sure when and how often she'll be shown, though.

At last the Pilaf saga is over, not that's it bad or anything but for me it pales in compression to the things that follow.

End of the first arc and it was decent. A good introduction to our characters, but the wackiness of Pilaf and his gang got a bit stale after a while so here's hoping that the next baddie poses more of a serious threat.

Onward to the training/tournament arc!

What a fantastic start to the series, such a interconnected world already, and a really fun and colorful cast. The development of Goku learning about the world and how to behave around others, Pu and Oolongs friendship and Bulma and Yamucha's relationship(mostly Yamucha becoming comfortable around her) were a treat to watch. Pilafs gang was a group of comic relief villains and weren't the greatest, but nor were they bad, they gave me a handful of laughs through the series and Pilafs base was hilariously cliche, very fitting for him. If it only gets better from here I can't wait for more.

The first adventure of Goku was as enjoyable as when I first watched it 20 years ago. The little extra bits of scenes that weren't in the manga were also very refreshing.

How unexpected for Pilaf to go back and fight the Ape transformed Goku. I thought his most likely course was to get out of here and abandon his castle and his possessions. He sure surprised me with that sudden burst of bravery, despite turning tail and running by the end. He is not as unpleasant as other conventional 'I want to rule the world' villains. He did dream of his mother in the last episode, maybe there is something more to him.

Now that Goku lost his tail, will there be any chance of Ape transformations in the future? Or will it regrow just as Goku said? Regardless, it is a good thing the others haven't told him that, most likely, he was the one who unintentionally killed his grandfather. He doesn't need to know, that's for sure.

That was a nice ending to the introductory first arc. Yamcha and Bulma got what they wanted without wasting the seven Dragon Balls for a ridiculous wish, so that's most certainly welcome. I am looking forward to Goku's training with Master Roshi.

If Dragon Ball truly ended here as a spunky parody of Journey to the West I feel as though the world of anime and manga would be at least slightly better today.

A weird ending for the arc it's seem to be an ending for the anime ,but I adore it perhaps best simple ending ever for an arc.

By the way I didn't expect my self to like Oolong character this much.

Bulma must have been DOWN BAD for a bf. I didn’t think she would split from Goku that easily

That was a good first arc/saga. Introduced and explored so much in such a little timespan, everything felt natural though. I enjoyed the middle of it so much, but admittedly it did start dragging towards the end. If it only gets better from here, Im excited to see what comes after this.

I dont know how it took off back in the day, the first 13 chapters were literally a competition for "who is the least competent"
