Noone uses Zoom Player?
I switched from VLC to Zoom Player years ago because VLC was having trouble with some exotic anime files, and Zoom Player has just never disappointed me since then. Why does noone use it?

Woah, woah, woah... hold the fucking phone!

You're telling me that VLC is worse than Zoom player? Oh my god, VLC must be god damn awful if you're saying you "upgraded" to Zoom player.

If you download the "K-Lite Mega Codec Package" and install it, you have the ultimate anime media player.

The codec package contains EVERY SINGLE video codec used online (including Blu-Ray rips, the common formats, and random formats I've never even seen before) and it comes bundled with Media Player Classic - Home Cinema which, in my opinion, is the simplest (yet most clean and effective) media player currently available.

So to answer the original question: 'Media Player Classic - Home Cinema' in conjunction with the K-Lite Mega Codec Package.

That guide is outdated as fuck, also people, don't recommend VLC, RGB dithering is not cool. Plain MPC-HC is much better by itself. Lord, this thread is cancer.

- JanWillem32's build of MPC-HC (using its subtitle engine)
- Haali splitter for MKV, LAV splitter for everything else
- LAV video decoder
- LAV audio decoder; ffdshow audio decoder > CyberLink audio decoder for Dolby Headphone
- madVR

That's what I swear by.

I mostly use VLC, but only because MPC-HC (with CCCP + CoreAVC) always adds extra memory/ram after I close it.

VLC is the best for me because when I had a CRT monitor, I used VLC's video effects to adjust the image quality. Media Player Classic is also good and very fast, but I don't like its interface and design.

I think MPC is the best for video output, the picture gets so clean, which can look more blurry or something on VLC.

BSPlayer +Media player classic

bsplayer because its super easy to find good english/bg subtitles without any effort(for non-animes so that makes it default player) and its overall light and i dont need anything else

mpc for anime when bsplayer is broken (because for some reason for many animes the colors get buggy in bs player) and mpc anime looks so much more colorful and better but i dont like the pause/interface as much as bsplayer so i use it only if bs is bad
lots of music -

Mnnn it matters. For some reason, certain files just mess up in VLC (like, it'll play but as soon as I try to rewind or something, I can just forget it), but I like it.
For the files that mess up, I might use KM Player.
I try to just stick to Window Media Player though. :U
