Considerinf the quality of the art in The Legend of Maian I'm surprised that they are releasing it with such speed. |

| Didn't enjoy v14 much. My early enthusiasm for the change of direction the series went in has evaporated. The story has gotten less dark, with the worst of JRPGing taking center stage--such as fetch quests with useless midget sidekicks tagging along. It's quickly gone from, say, the despair of Berserk during its most brutal hours to where Berserk is at now with Guts having his own JRPG party. Meh. Still no explanations. STILL! Worse yet, during the chit-chat with the Goddess it was mentioned that it isn't the Devilshu troubling Felix but the curse of his bloodline alone... which makes no sense AT ALL when the Devilshu symbol previously appeared on his forehead and he went all beastly every five seconds. Also: what the hell is with this all-new, 'Hero of Maian and Felicia loved each other' crap that's being nudged into the story? It's as if Dal Young is going with Felix being some kind of reincarnation that's doomed to walk the same path... but Felicia was presented as a nice, loving person, so why the heck would she have fought Hero Maian if they had a thing for each other? WHY DID FELICIA NEED DATING TIPS LIKE A VIRGIN SCHOOL GIRL IF SHE'D ALREADY BEEN WITH FELIX'S FORMER SELF--WHY WASN'T THERE ANY SIGNS OF RECOGNITION!? ....... Also(2): The medieval & magic setting is being ruined with this past-civilization-that's-our-21st-century lark. The satellite lasers are one thing... but a submarine? :/ PS: The mother-son bond between Felicia's brat and the stand-in mother is cute. It's sad that they've been placed in a situation where it's right that they'll eventually be torn apart. I forsee the brat going into rage mode when Felix kills his booby-momma. |
| It's a bit inevitable that Irene is going to probably fight Felix in the future and will likely not make it. Then that kid will probably want Felix's head on a plate. Anyways, this fight is reaching its climax now. |
