And then there are those who drop the show and explain the reasons in there. I don't deny there's some sort of Internet penis fight regarding reviews of new anime, but in my opinion dismissing every early review as a sample of this attitude and intentions is as silly as the criticized behaviour. |

| Ah, this thread again. Lately, I've only been checking out 5camp's reviews for those new anime with only 1~3 episodes out. They're quite humorous. Usually ignore the rest, though I recall seeing one with something like "It's very good, I won't say anything else for now". I don't remember which show it was. |

Fair point and I agree. It's like a heads up. But I guess it comes down to the quality of their review regarding their initial thoughts. Giving us actual insight on what the show is trying to be and a prediction of where they think it is heading with some analysis as to why. Not just some "its soooo good you gotta check it out yadda yadda" Though, I'm not expecting anything professional, I'd be satisfied with a little more depth to it. |

| I usually check reviews AFTER I see the anime. Then I'm like "HOW? WHY SO LOW?" or "HUH? THAT DIDN'T EVEN HAPPEN IN THE ANIME DAFUQ?". I'm quite stupid on ratings, because I enjoy everything. |

| I remember a time when there were barely any Reviews at all....that was like 5 years ago...I and a small group of others were dedicated to writing full hearted reviews, but alas many of us slowly lost interest as new fags came on to this site creating crappy Weeaboo bias reviews of their favorite crappy mainstream Anime.....now when I see reviews I think those Weeaboo bastards are just trying to win a shouting game of who can write the most reviews.... |

A bit before that, I got not just banned, but had all trace of my existance deleted from The Escapist. They deleted my entire account to cover up the fact they wanted me gone. Why? Because I was against their rule against any and all lolicon related things, as well as several other fourm rules. Censorship pisses me off. Sorry for getting ranty, but I'm still pissed. I think this is good enough to make a whole new thread for. Thanks for bringing it up, I can't help but feel rage for this censorship under the excuse of morality. I don't think I'll be able to browse Tvtropes again without being reminded of this. What did you write about on The Escapist, by the way? |
