| According to The Hollywood Reporter, the live-action film adaptation of Akira is being put on hold due to casting, script, and budget issues. The website reports that production offices in Vancouver are being closed and below-the-line talent and crew have been told to stop working. Producers Jennifer Kiloran Davisson and Andrew Lazar will work with director Jaume Collet-Serra over the next two weeks on the script. | I get the feeling that it will come, but as a low-budged movie. :( No one famous apparently wants to do anything about it, since it's been "in production" so long, so they end up using B-movie directors and cast. |
