Very interesting; splendid palace and Oda Nobunaga is so awesome... I admire Sasuke Furuta's passion for aesthetics. Looks like Akechi may betray his lord, yes.

I was surprised that the vassal of Akechi managed to calm down after turning totally red with fury.

If you knew your Sengoku Period history, the outcome would be dead obvious.

Good episode, if a little slower then the previous two.

I have given 5's for the first two.... but finally something clicked. I got what the show was trying to tell me... i think. Once that happened i was able to enjoy his faces without worrying what the hell was going on.

I've always been a fan of exaggerated facial expressions ^.^

The intensity of this show is not lost on me!

Great episode, better than the first two.

Sasuke is pure win!

The opening scene with the old man was epic, his agonizing over the situation was so suspenseful.
But, he came through like a champ again, by confessing.
And, totally turned the favor towards himself. Not to mention, bettering his situation by becoming his disciple.

And, the banquet scene was fantastic as well, when he drew on dude, and that determination/dedication in his eyes was so intense, awesome!

Love this show, who knew a show about aesthetics, tea, and war-time politics all while sitting in rooms that all look exactly the same, could be so interesting?

This is turning out to be much better than the rating here suggests. I imagine the facial expressions will grow tiresome if they continue for 39 episodes, but the politics and the aesthetic admiration are great. It's like a combination of Thermae Romae, Gallery Fake and LotGH.

Man, you just gotta love Sasuke, with his constant inner conflicts but still mostly doing the right thing. And it's great how this show uses aestetics and tea brewing as a means to show subtle communication, like the end where Akechi didn't use the teakettle that was a present for Nobunaga.

By the way I've seen countless different portrayals of Nobunaga, Akechi and all those other in anime, ranging from over-the-top shounen characters to schoolgirls (Sengoku Collection anyone?) but I have to say this is probably the most stylish one.
I probably regret this post by now.

Really amazing episode.

Too bad my English is not really the best so I have to have the dictionary by my side all of the time haha. This anime is a like a 40min length one for me haha.

The banquet scene had great dialogue. Really into it! The teaplot thickens.

Well that almost came to bite him in the ass quick. Good thing he admitted what he did to the tea fella or else he would've been screwed.

Another marvellous episode.

Very rarely do the first three episodes of any anime captivate me to such a degree. All three have been near enough perfect but this episode is quite possible my favourite yet.

Once again, dialogue remains supreme. Very captivating. From the tea with Sendo Soueki to the meeting with Nobunaga and then ultimately the brilliance from Akechi during the banquet, as well as Sasuke's wildly entertaining monologues.

This show is thus far one of the best written shows i've seen in a long time. Perfect blend of drama and comedy.

And another point that hardly anyone has touched upon. The damn score is absolutely beautiful.

Recommend me some short Manga!

The plot thickens. At 39 episodes, I can see how this could possibly develop into quite the epic. Not the best show from an audiovisual standpoint by any means, but my lord is the dialogue brilliant. I also love the fact that the large majority of the cast are actual historical figures. Hell, I may learn a thing or two about Japanese history from this series. xD

Nobunaga's castle was a splendor, the man has grandeur ambitions. I personally liked the paintings on the walls.

I thought he would choose the container there, since he really wanted it. But I'm glad Nobunaga gave him both for his loyalty.

Akechi is up to something.
