An empathetic wanderer A bloodthirsty and troubled yet somehow sweet girl A veritable demi-god of death, surrounded by philosophy The sensei of despair A sentient AI A sadistic information dealer with a God-complex A combat robot with a very advanced yet childish AI An insanely strong man with anger issues who hate violence A mysterious girl who goes against all logic, reason, and physics... and wins A man so manly he can kill you just by playing poker Not a strong trend in there, but most have something to do with death and/or suffering. That, though, is just because of the kind of anime I like to watch -- drama. |

| I have a soft spot for characters that can really make me laugh. Like, really laugh, as in r o f l. Probably because one of my beefs with American tv, and culture really, is that I just simply don't find it humorous. But when I started watching anime not too long ago, man was it downhill from there. Never laughed as much in my life. And Usui and Takagi are on my list because they're just badass. |

| Pretty much all of my favorite characters are main characters. Not that I don't like side characters, but I really like main characters because you get to see them develop, which is something I've always enjoyed to see. Also, a lot of my faves are headstrong and determined folks who have clear goals. I guess it's because I sometimes struggle with my own goals that it's refreshing to see characters know what they want and pull out everything they have in order to get it... be it Sailor Moon's connection with her friends and saving the world, Shinichi's determination to stop criminals, Kid's goal to target the Pandora gem, Satoshi's goal to catch 'em all, Ranma to be a man again and training to run the Tendo Dojo, Asuka Jr's goal to catch Saint Tail, Miyu's goal to be happy with Yamato-kun, and Honey's goal to stop Panther Claw and connect with humans. Also, a lot of the characters I like do really stupid things sometimes, or are just plain crazy, but insanely lovable. |

| Yeah, they do seem a bit similar. They're all either singularly smiley or emotionless on the surface and most of them have at least one screw loose. They're even more similar if you divide them into 3 groups. |

| some time ago i realized all my favorite chars are similar so i decided to check it up, it was then when i learned the meaning of tsundere and realized im into them cause like 8 out 10 were tsunderes anyway now my fav chars are mixed, i also put extended favorite characters cause 10 is too few and theres a nice mixture in there as well, but i guess i could separate them into 2-3 groups of personalities, more like red orange yellow and not black and white |

| Well not really but if you look at them in the right way then I guess you could say they are. They are either extremely happy go lucky kind of characters with a lot of emotion (i.e issac and miria, hatsune, kirino and to a lesser extent, Kyouko and Ashton). Or blunt, and straight faced (possibly cynical), being Kyon, Akira, and Ren. Harima is the odd ball, but meh. Also, they're all comic relief for the most part |

| Well... I can atleast say that I can see some similarits between my characters. 4 of them are kinda insane. 2 of them are treated as comic reliefs. 2 of them got inhuman strenght. 2 of them are the antagonists. 3 of them are a strong female protagonist. |

| The only thing I can see as any sort of common connecting link between my favorite characters is that they don't talk much. On the other hand, though I don't do it intentionally, I tend to strongly dislike loud-mouthed bratty characters... |
