Would you pay $1 for a season of anime?

Imagine this:

A bunch of animation studios got together and agreed to place their shows onto a global platform they all partially own. And this platform streams shows 'owned' by those studios that you get to watch at a price of (about) $1 per season.

(in this make-believe scenario, studios won't prioritize greed and increase the charge rate unfairly.)
(also the streaming quality is actually good)

Would you pay $1 of pocket money for 12-13 episodes of any (offered) anime? This is $1 per anime season, mind you.

Yeah I would, it's chump change and it's not like I'll watch every anime in a season, wouldn't mind spending a few extra dollars per year like this.

Would you pay $1 for a season of anime?

Ofc I would. It's way cheaper than the monthly subscription usually costs. Ofc I could become a Pirate King and watch everything for free, but sometimes you just want to watch a show in a higher quality.

Unfortunately you have to pay for literally anything in the world so this is a pretty good deal tbh.

This just perpetuates the exploitation. I am aware of Blu-rays; this is the way to go, actually. To pay with respect to the time and effort the team did is the best thing a fan can do.

I don't mind that kind of money, but I only watch Blu-rays. That's the finished version that is as uncensored as it is going to get officially.

Not going to watch the TV version, not even for free.

Yes because I already do this when I buy blu-rays.

Most anime studios would never be able to do this, because most anime studios don't own the anime they make.

I refuse to pay any amount for anime. Why pay 1 dollar for a shit production with a stupid plot when I can pay 30 dollars for a waifu acrylic who I love?

Id rather physical media on Blu Ray. Streaming is clogging up internet bandwidth and you cant do it during any weather conditions there is bad weather taking out the internet.

For a season? That's a bargain.
I've seen some places charge that and more for a single episode (which is why I have never finished all of Inazuma eleven)

Title Question (Because I wrote all of this without reading the actual topic text, yes I'm dumb like that):

Topic Question:

Probably. I do not like subscription fees, so pay as you go just sounds better for me. I'm not a super frequent watcher anyway, so the subscription model just doesn't work well for me.

Uh, yuss. CR is like $8 a month and I maybe will watch 3 seasons a month when I grab it in the winter. $1/season is much better than anything Hulu, Disney+, or any other media subscription service when you're only watching 1-3 seasons of anything in a given month.

The answer is an obvious yes. But how would they be able to charge almost nothing and not go bankrupt?
You can buy lossless digital music from your favorite Japanese artists on https://ototoy.jp/.
The songs are all DRM-free and you can re-download your purchased albums as you wish.
Show your support to your favorite artist if you can!
ps. if you are looking for Japanese albums, you have to search it in Japanese (not romaji). Just copy and paste the name.

That's honestly quite a low sum of money, compared to what you will usually pay for an artist's patreon, or supporting a fan VN etc, which I currently do. If I was super into it I could spend way more than that.

I have paid subscriptions to Crunchyroll and HiDive, and own a bunch of dvd/blu ray of various anime series and films, so yeah. $1 for an entire season is a bargain.
