| Rintaro and Shohei are told by their homeroom teacher that if they score a failing grade on the midterm exams, they won’t be allowed to participate in the upcoming sports festival. They ask Saku and Ayato for help, but are rejected, so after school the two decide to study in the library to avoid failing. Partway through, Rintaro moves to a bench outside to study alone, where he runs into Kaoruko, who had also come to study. They begin talking, but their interaction is spotted by Kaoruko’s friend, Subaru Hoshina who dislikes Chidori and things take a turn. Subaru tells Rintaro to not involve himself with Kaoruko anymore, Rintaro's friend group arrives, and he blocks Shohei when he gets too close to Kaoruko. Rintaro disapproves of Saku's actions when he starts insulting Subaru's silver hair. Upon recognizing Kaoruko as the girl standing outside the school gate, Shohei and Kaoruko respectively apologize for the trouble they caused. Subaru refuses to say sorry and leaves in anger. When Subaru asks Kaoruko about Rintaro, she describes him as "a very kind person". Later in the evening, Kaoruko calls Rintaro to confirm the date for their study session. He requests for her to speak to him the same way she does to her friends. Little does he know, both of them are equally looking forward to the upcoming study session.  |

Seeing Usami-kun inviting Lintharo to go to the library is quite unusual. i'm curious if the fact that Kaoruko-san has to get high grades is some kind of sign, like a scholarship? What color is Subaru's hair, silver or green? This episode really feels like a wave of yuri NTR. The last scene in the photo or maybe the true identity is a young boyzzz? |

| Every high school anime boy’s worst nightmare: not being allowed to join the sports festival! What better way to motivate your students to study than by revoking their festival privileges if they don’t lol. Actually has the two knuckleheads here worried about their grades for once, so hey, it’s working sensei, keep it up. Only one other thing that can get a guy to study hard, and that’s studying with a girl. So yeah, as expected, looks like he and Karouko are gonna have a little study session sometime soon. But then in comes our girl Subaru, kicking off what I’d say was a whole unnecessary beef, though really, it was Rintarou’s knucklehead friends who ruined everything. Almost ruined it anyway, since at least Rintarou called them out, and Karouko actually tried with Subaru. But yeah after hearing what Subaru thinks of all men, that was never gonna happen, was it. At least she made it clear to Rintarou that she’s actually a nice person deep down, but yeah, it’s gonna take more than that to really fix things. Anyway, that whole final part of the episode where they’re on a call and Rintarou says he wants to talk as friends... AND THEN WE FIND OUT THEY WERE BOTH BLUSHING LIKE CRAZY AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH OH MY GOSHHHHH ππ  Can't wait to see that date next Saturday as well Karouko xD |

| Damn, they need to get their heads to studying. Risk of missing the sports tournament if midterm exam scores aren't passing. By the chance Rintarou meets Kaoruko again so it's obvious this anime and episode wanted to build a bond between the two. Subaru Hoshina making an appearance is important part here as well as she seems to be protective towards Kaoruko. Solid episode imo between all the character interactions, chemistry, and circumstances. |

| Of course Rintarou isn’t smart, or like, good in studies. It just can’t work with this kind of setting, and yeah, with a guy who “scares” everyone with his appearance lol. So even if you haven’t read the source or just watching this on a whim, Kaoruko somehow ending up teaching Rintarou to save him from flunking the exams was something that could be seen from a mile away. Really small world they live in, I mean the guy goes anywhere and he ends up meeting Kaoruko one way or the other xD All of this aside, I must say Subaru’s first impression really gave a side quest boss energy.. I MEAN SHE WAS WAY TOO SERIOUS ABOUT SOMETHING NOBODY ASKED FOR. Saku owned her, so I’m glad. I know she has her reasons, but still coming in and plainly hating someone just for existing is going too far. Though hey, we would improve on that front. Btw, just three episodes and our mains are already too deeply in love, lol. You love to see that. |
| SUBARU MY BELOVED HAS FINALLY ARRIVED. Oh my God I love her so much, one of the best designs and personalities and they nailed exactly what makes her great in this episode. The way she’s so protective of Kaoruko is so sweet. She’s got great intentions, but she does have to let Kaoruko be her own person and make her own choices. It’ll be awesome seeing her arc play out in the anime. The way I wanted to come thru the screen when Saku insulted her hair color π‘ I know he was just giving her back the same energy she gave the Chidori boys, but that’s exactly why this cycle of misunderstanding between the two schools continues! Good on Rintaro for sticking up for her and validating what Kaoruko had been trying to explain to Subaru. On the other hand, the Rintaro and Kaoruko moments today were diabetes as usual. The phone call at the end got me kicking my feet in the air omg π I legit been on calls like that back in the day so that’s honestly not exaggerated, that honeymoon phase when you first pull is undefeated. That smile at the end is gonna make my week. |

| Episode 3 is finally out!!! Ah, what a truly lovely episode! Watching the anime is honestly more enjoyable than reading the manga — I won’t lie. This time, I watched the episode while eating tiramisu! How did you watch it?  As for Waguri getting into the school on a scholarship, that’s amazing! Everyone should have a goal and ambition in life — you need to be the best at something you’re passionate about! Yes, this was mentioned in the manga, right? But putting the manga aside, I’m really happy to see new characters! Like Waguri’s friend who was studying, the teacher, and Subaru! I’m also looking forward to the next episode! I hope they adapt up to Chapter 8 at least! See you next week, friends! Until then, keep smiling! | Apparently, Yasashii Hito was used as the episode title which was used in the manga at Chapter 53. Therefore it won't be a 1:1 title of anime vs manga. Nevertheless, what a beautiful and perfect adaptation for Chapters 3 and 4. I'm guessing, next episode would be the study session of Kaoruko and Rintaro (Chapter 5) for the first half going into Subaru's talk with Rintarou (Chapter 6) then cutting into a cliffhanger on that talk. πΈπΈπΈ 100/10 |
| Decent little episode, liked seeing more of Rintaro's friends here and of course, the introduction of Subaru too to the show. Quite the ways to go to ease the judgmental tensions between the Kikyo and Chidori folk beyond Rintaro and Kaoruko's developing friendship there. |
| Very solid episode. I really like Subaru's character and how she develops afterwards. This anime so far gave her a lot of justice, presenting her as a protector of Kaoruko who is also scared of man (we will learn later why). But who is still rational enough to recognize when someone is stepping up to protect her, leaving her in doubt about her idea that all men are bad. Her design is great and I like how you can really experience her silver hair and how she stands up among everyone. Overall solid episode, but the next two should be the peak as far as the starting arc of the story goes. |

| This episode should really establish kaouruko as not that one dimensional character for those who is still unconvinced she is a good heroine. We get some insight on the fact that kaouruko is not some sort of genius girl or just your standard talented student from privileged school as she is not from a wealthy background ( i don’t know fully her financial situation since i stopped reading the manga a while ago) but the scholarship she is on seem to be pretty demanding where probably a B+ is a death sentence and from someone seeing my friends tried to maintain that kinda scholarship (3.6+ GPA) battling sleepless nights and anxiety on whether their grade is enough along with not many free days is truly earned my respect On top of all that he still make some time to teach her friends and rintarou with a bright smile, we are definitely picking up the pace from here on out so if you dont want to miss out the kaouro and rintarou train you should hop onboard  |

| Life is great when Kaoru Hana airs. Subaru so far is a good character, she did start that unnecessary beef but to be honest, it was Rintarou's friends who ruined it. Subaru just wanted to protect Waguri and I can respect that. The phone call with them both was really wholesome and them both blushing at the end was what made that part even better. We need more moments like that for sure. 5/5 |
| Subaru isn't anything like I imagined her based on her design. The androphobic tendencies and the protectiveness in particular. The good thing is that this leaves a lot of room for development in terms of opening up to Rintarou and his boys from Chidori. |

| I wasn't sold from the first episode, but Rintaro and Waguri are already extremely cute together and I'm excited for their romance to develop further. I wonder what trauma Subaru's been through to make her hate men so much. |

| Prior to her introduction I had heard that Subaru would be the type of character I would hate a ton and then grow to love. But honestly that analogy is wrong at least for me. I actually think she is a really good character she clearly has a deep caring protective side for Kaoruko and I think that is very commendable. The whole prejudices against Chidori are to be expected since that's just how both schools are with the exception of Rintaro and Kaoruko. What's interesting about Subaru is she seems to just generally hate men, Idk if that will be expanded on but I assume it will. Gives her a interesting layer outside of just the schools conflicts. I gotta praise this anime for having great male characters, particularly Rintaro and Saku like tons of romance will just have lame whimsy and over the top dudes with boring af designs but this anime has a great cast of dynamic male characters. Too many romance focus on the women I swear, lets get more male love here. Seriously though Saku flaming Subaru while rude was cold af and really cool to see, made me love his character. PLUS Rintaro is such a kind soul, like even Subaru was surprised that he shielded Kaoruko on instinct from the orange hair dude (Forgot his name). Plus Rintaro while he shows nervousness like any dude he actually has the backbone to push the relationship foward. Other stupid romance will have a lame dude and have the relationship be pushed ahead through dumb moments. But Rintaro is an amazing male character. Also side note this episode was really good since it felt a lot more natural where the first 2 felt like setups for the story to come. Especially the interactions between Rintaro and Kaoruko felt way more natural this episode So in short Rintaro, Saku and Subaru are all amazing characters. |

| of the three episodes, I think this is the best episode. the previous two episodes were MID imo. although the big moment of Rintarou and Kaoruko's relationship still lacks impact (the OST still makes me dislike it) at least their dialogue is enough to carry this anime (although the dialogue is mostly apologizing lol). we finally know that Kaoruko is not a rich person who goes to an elite school but she is a smart person and works hard to get a scholarship to enter Chikyo, and that could also give a reason why Kaoruko is not like other elite students who see Chidori school as stupid and barbaric. Subaru was finally introduced, of all the characters in this anime, Subaru's character design is my favorite. I didn't expect Saku to speak harshly like that, not expecting him to mock the hair color of Subaru made me hurt. finally Rintarou encouraged himself to tell Kaoruko to use casual language when talking to the two of them, glad this was not stalled by Rintarou. a little disappointed not to see many scenes of Rintarou's mama again, but really looking forward to seeing Kaoruko and Rintarou again next week.  |

I love how Kaoruko's innocence is captured even in her doodles. It's cool how Rintaro's bros got his back in confrontations (though Saku may have gone a bit too far) though it's even cooler how calmly he defused the situation. Dude's got a talent in earning a ton of brownie points with anyone he meets. |

| As a manga reader, this part takes me back quite nicely from what I remember. I like Subaru, but I love how Saku scorched her for her behaviour. And I forgot how unfair Usami got treated here by even Rintarou when he did not even do anything lol |

| Decent episode. My favorite part was definitely Saku putting Subaru in her place, he was absolutely savage with those roasts. I think this is the first time Chidori puts Kikyo in their place. Honestly, I think Saku might be my favorite character from now on! |
