Senku and his friends are in the Amazon, searching for treasure. Is this even possible? A ship being towed by a parachute? Theoretically, it can be done with the help of the wind, but isn't the type of ship Senku is using different?

Taiki had been chopping down trees all night when suddenly, four letters spelling "HELL" appeared in the sky. It was a kite painted with glowing paint. The kite was flown by a mysterious girl named Dr. Chersi, who is nearsighted. She is a genius geographer. Thanks to her, they found the shortest route to the location. Senku decided to build six motorcycles to transport them to the site. Even Zeno hasn't been able to obtain the rubber needed for the tires. The rubber trees come from Central and South America.

This whole "let's just build it" mentality sure is fun(ny) as presented, and yeah you gotta admire the guts it takes. But funnies aside, the way they're going, they really should be geriatrics by the time all's said and done... so many of these things they really can't just fast forward or skip in the stone world. (Not that I'd ever complain if they don't age ofc, that should indeed be just the magic of anime. lmao)

Amidst everything, it kinda even slipped my mind why this opposition between the gang and Stanley exists in the first place.

I think Xeno is already de facto belong to Senku team since they're gonna need to work together to go to the Moon but this anime just want some excite action during material gathering phase. Though I see no harm since this anime is quite peaceful and all conflict turn out to be just a friendly competition in the end.

Chelsea has been a fun addition. She fits in very well with the team and will certainly help with the geography, provided she has her glasses, of course.

This has turned into a full-blown chase. Ryuusui's idea of using the sails that way to give the boat more speed has been brilliant, hands down the best navigator.

P.S.: Now that I look closely at the ED I thought it was a bit weird. Usually it's characters like Senku or Gen in the foreground, so seeing Tsukasa, Hyoga and Kohaku is unexpected. I have nothing against them, but it seemed odd to me, and while the song is cute, there's something about it that gives off an eerie air as if something might happen to them.

Never has spending most of an episode on a boat been so exhilarating lmao, man I had so much fun with this episode. Dr. Chelsea is an amazing addition to the cast, Xeno and Senku continue to be funny af together and my daughter Suika… well, she’s just doing her best 😂

Little convenient to find the world’s best navigator/geography master in the middle of the forest, but hey I’ll allow it. Recruiting chelsea now means they’ll always know where they are and is a nice counter to Xeno team’s radar which tbh is an unfair advantage. Also, smart move by Senku to give her glasses because now she feels indebted to him and won’t even think of working with Xeno. Plus, bringing her onboard gave them the kite idea to outrun Xeno’s team!

They’re doing a good job of keeping these traveling episodes fun, this went by really quickly and now we’ve got a way to find rubber, make bikes and get across South America faster. Can’t wait for next ep.

You’d think Xeno, being a man of science, would understand that the best way forward is to work with Senku’s team to stop Why-Man and then they both return to their respective countries

Damn, i had noticed that a twist of fate (or plot) allowed Senku to get a team of super elites in their respective fields to make progress in this manga, and that they wouldn't have made it this far without their expertise. But damn, this time the coincidence is just too baffling. They just so happen to find the one leading expert geographer they needed for their voyage on their way south, in a random stretch of North America. The Chelsea ex Machina is insane here.

New character Chelsea introduced. It's a crazy coincidence how she was unpetrified and then missed Xeno's team just cause she didn't have her glasses and now she's finally a part of Senku's group after a year of living alone... And she's an expert geographer to boot which is exactly what the team needed. Well, I don't mind the new addition that much. But the way she talks is irritating me more than Luna did in the last season. Great. And also the subs are questionable at best. Giving her brainrot dialogue when Dr.STONE started before that shit started was certainly a choice. Knowing Crunchyroll, they only did it to make clickbait video titles on their socials.

What a tough episode to suffer through; repulsing soundtrack evoking a visual novel, things devoid of science happening covering the whole episode, same stinky lines repeated over and over again, dialogues with a complexity level for toddlers and yet another throwaway character whose only function is to serve its purpose now and then before being left in oblivion until next time. Unnecessary new characters keep getting introduced for the flimsiest functions, each worse than its predecessor. No depth to the characters, just serve the purpose and be demoted to a side character with not much more importance than those bulky delinquents of Tsukasa back then.

We have a ex-police guy with the fancy revolver whose name I don't even remember. What use was he? As far as I recall, he didn't even do anything related to policing. There's the reporter girl whose name misses me, what was she good for? Or say Moz, funnily enough, I don't remember the last time we saw him, where he's now nor what he's doing now. As if it wasn't enough that the team had three top-level fighters, a samurai guy was added to the mix. Matsu-something. Does he even have a purpose? Created to satisfy the need to elaborate about the petrification device, he is utilized currently as a personal serf-bodyguard for the author's favorite, Ginro. That's it. I was hoping that there'd be no 2nd case of the insufferable "capable woman", Luna, whose only function is to repeat one single line about that one quality that's not true about her, but that may have happened this episode. Following the same principles in having an unbearable way of speech and having the intelligence and personality of a bratty little kid, she makes one cower from whoever's coming up next.

Lately, it's more often than not that I find myself on the fence about dropping this anime, deciding thereagainst each time though, because I want to see Senku realize his noble cause of restoring the human civilization; however, it's getting rougher to endure all the rubbish characters and their nonsense. How nice it could have been without them.

Suika meeting the person whom she shares a brain cell with is lowkey one of the highlights of all seasons. Better duo than Senku and Xeno xD Chelsea is a brilliant late addition.

Dr. Stone goes biker gang anime next, but first we need to acquire rubber. The chase is so exciting and I always love it how characters use their skills and work together in this series.

While I do enjoy the chemistry between Senku and Dr Xenos, seeing Suika meeting someone with weak vision like herself was honestly pretty wholesome. Chelsea is a very welcome addition to this series and her bubbly personality kept me entertained and smiling everytime she appeared on screen. =)

It also helps that her knowledge for geography is unrivaled, which is a godsend for Senku and his team in their mission to get to the middle of the Amazon Rainforest as quickly as possible. The plan to produce bikes will look really cool, but they still have to worry about the persistent Stanley hot on their heels. Using Chelsea's kites to give their boat an extra boost to their speed definitely saved their bacon when it almost looked like game over, so it should buy them enough time to get their main plan into motion without getting caught.

So far, this second part of Science Future has been really enjoyable. As long as Chelsea keeps getting a good amount of screentime, the rest of this second cour will most likely be hugely entertaining and exciting!

Damn so they were planning to circle around South America to get to the epicenter of the stone wave, ain’t no way that was ever happening with Stanley on their tails lol, so Dr. Chelsea really came in clutch here with the alternate path along with a place they can get rubber so they can make tires for motorcycles, ya know I didn’t realize how many things use rubber until they pointed it out here, really cool. Although I gotta say, I’m not completely sold on Chelsea yet (not to mention how convenient it was that they found her when they did lol), she’s serving an important role and all but it’s mainly her personality I’m not super into, like I don’t think we needed another goofy ass character when we already have quite a few lol. She is cute tho, and I really like the pumpkin aesthetic she has going on, hopefully I’ll grow to like her more as we go.

And another thing Chelsea came in clutch with was the kite for the speedboat, that was pretty epic but also something I’m wondering actually works that well, does that speed them up that much more? I can see it helping with fuel but the speed I’m unsure of, but hey it’s cool and it’s Dr. Stone and I like it so I won’t think too hard about it lol, they’ve done more unbelievable things before anyway. But now that the science gang has got themselves a way to not get caught by Stanley immediately, it’s now time to put the motorcycle plan in action, it’s times like these it feels like classic Dr. Stone, I’m excited to see how they pull it off.

There we go, it was hihg time Chelsea was introduced for this arc. The optimist and kawaii-desu geographer that somehow even by being clumsy was able to survive as a naked girl in a pumpking. Not everything is how it looks but besides that, the race is now to get to the Amazon centre fast. How? Of course by bike, mountain and river, easy! Good to see that even if time's being taken off the inventions, they are still there in a way. Maybe it would have been better to have this part a bit more stretched out.

@Ringmuskel I was curious too and just looked it up. The Panama canal is not just a route carved through bedrock which is what the Suez is (I believe) instead it is a series of locks and dams that require a lot of maintenance to remain functional. So the reason why it wasn't mentioned is because the scientists would know this.
However I feel someone like Taiju or Gen could have brought it up and then we could have gotten a brief explanation as to why it wasn't viable.

@Marinate1016 Fact that she ended up where she did versus where Xeno and his group did might have something to do with it if we're talking about coincidence. I'm hoping this season ends where I think it will, it'd be a good climax, but then the last part would wrap things up. I only say that because I heard this was going to be divided into 3 parts supposedly

@pixelante I'm more shocked that she survived when she was petrified while basically planking. That's a long and rigid stance, getting knocked around by 3000+ years of time means it's entirely possible you'll end up worse than drowned in the ocean, but broken in half like a toothpick

@pixelante But given how much time has passed, all the gates that were built should not exist. And if the water level increased at that time, I think it still would have been a good option to create a shortcut. They would even be able to use rivers to cross to the other side of Panama.

@TheColonel76 Efficiency wise, they'd be able to account for the terrain with Chelsea's encyclopedic knowledge, since she'd probably also have updated maps for the present situation versus the Amazon 3000+ years ago. Stanley may just be thinking of taking the same route Senkuu was, I forget, he does speak about it later, iirc.

As for the kite, that probably would involve Ryusui's marine instinct, being able to tell how the wind would shift. The whole crew is basically people with preternatural talents, including Taiju, with not only the stamina, but possibly even a naturally short sleeper, a rarity in humans that normally need 8+ hours, but he seemingly could do 4. Which had me thinking he and Yuzuriha, depending on certain factors, could conceivably do a lot of repopulating (realistically she doesn't have his stamina, but the whole idea really is more fodder for a doujin). And maybe even just get into the implied harem method, but the issue of stabilizing a population comes much later

This show never fails to deliver on the science.

There's sky writing with the word HELL? I thought it was hello but it's so much simpler than that.

The "melon" person was actually squinting like Suika so it's NEW GLASSES for her! Turns out Xeno knows her, she's the Geology Genius Chelsea!

And she was trying to write HELP but ran out of luminescent paint, made from ... Sphalerite?? Hey I have some at home. I didn't know it can be used to make glow in the dark paint. Neat.

Oh Chelsea can't believe Xeno is hoarding weapons to rule to world. She hates that and has decided to throw in with Senku instead. I loved that little "Chelsea has joined the party" joke.

The ship being pulled by the HELL Kite was hilarious. Turns out in that situation bigger is not better, is it like the strength to weight ratio thing?

Next week Rubber. They're going to need some sulphur to vulcanize the sap from Rubber Trees. Actually tapping the rubber trees is time consuming and the sap flows slow as hell so I bet the anime will speed things up.
