| A misunderstanding, marriage, and romance all in the air. Man, this episode and show just sets up itself for drama. Marie seems like a kind person despite being a servant. This seems to have changed after meeting Cyrus. There's some obvious attraction between the two. Cyrus also has charisma for someone of his status. They also had to have another cute girl Anastasia to add in to the mix. I find Marie more likable than her though. Seems every season has one of these anime lately but I do find the first episode enjoyable. |

| Novelist Tobirano's lone series that's every bit like Cinderella, it has got quite the story in and of itself that replaces the focus onto the lesser of the characters. Krage's OP is alright... The Shaderan sisters of the older Anastasia and younger Marie, born from a poor family, all the hard work and prep is done by the latter sister herself. However, in conjuction with Marie's birthday, it's more important for Anastasia to find her bride instead, which ires the younger sister. However, it's the man of Kyros Granado from the Republic of Ipsandros that catches Marie's attention, which given her born-bred situation, it's like Cinderella who found her Prince Charming who's supposed to be one of the candidates wedding her sister instead. And he's the perfect candidate once his letter of consent pulls through to the Shaderan family, that sadly, the older sister had to lose her life in an accident, and Marie had to take her place because her parents despise her and wants to exploit the failure for all their worth. Upon their arrival to the Republic however, more than the head chamberlain Mio gracing her alongside Tomas, his surprise seeing Marie is quite the near embarrassment of a scene gone havoc. Even Mio finds her tenable, and as soon as he chases Marie's father out, along with Anastasia's betrothal gifts to her grave, he is quite the kind soul to her to help understand her plight better and shower her with affection, like giving her a nice bath and a change of clothes. And what came out of it, like a butterfly from its chrysalis, is quite the thing of beauty that even his consultation with his mother Liu Liu, she's officially sold off and became his fiancée, for good and better. It's all the surprise for Marie though, fast AF. Myuk's ED is good, in a way that's unlike her previous songs. The Cinderella-type story taking place between the Duke who wanted more of Marie, that's quite the start. |

| Anastasia is Marie's older sister; she is a kind and also so beautiful. One day, Anastasia is attacked by bandits, which leads to her death. As a replacement for her sister, Marie, the second daughter of a poor noble family, is treated like a servant by her parents. At a birthday party, Marie meets Count Cyrus. They are mutually attracted, but Cyrus accidentally proposes to Marie's sister, Anastasia! However, her sister dies in an accident, and Marie must marry in her place. Marie comes to meet Cyrus but is surprised by Marie's cute appearance. Additionally, Marie is knowledgeable about various topics, such as tea. I mean, ginger and cinnamon as ingredients for making this tea is truly an intriguing combination.  Marie meets Tunika, who is skilled in massage, and I am fascinated by their bathing scene. I mean, using honey as a skin softener. Instantly, Marie transforms into a beautiful and graceful girl. Ryuu-Ryuu gives approval, and the engagement announcement is made, even though Marie says she cannot, lol. |

Well, luckily not everyone is like Marie's parents and that there are people being able to appreciate her beauty. Still feels bad that Anastasia died. Abusive parents who treat one daughter like shit while praising the other who looks up to the abused daughter ✅ kind noble who teaches the abused daughter to be more confident and love herself ✅ the two siblings being split up before being reunited eventually ✅ close enough, welcome back Too perfect Saint. Just like I felt in that series, I need to see Marie’s parents brutally murdered. Abusing your own child and making her feel subhuman, for what? What’s actually gained? You can’t even say they created an air of superiority for the other sister because she clearly idolises and looks up to Marie. Some people do NOT need to be parents. Just thinking of them telling Marie they wish she died instead of the other girl has my fucking blood boiling!! Speaking of the other sister, we didn’t see a body so she 100 percent faked her death so she could run away and get out of the arraigned marriage. Her parents didn’t even care about her either, they just saw her as a meal ticket. 🤢 Marie getting all cleaned and dolled up oh my goodness she’s fucking pretty!! Matter of fact, all the girls are gorgeous in this series from her to Kyros’ mom to Anastasia and beyond!! The pacing might be fast af, but honestly idc. Kyros being smart enough to see that Marie was being abused and lines like “I can’t understand if you don’t speak up” really resonated with me. It’s so nice to have such an emotionally intelligent lead in these series that instantly knows the sort of trauma our FMC is dealing with! I’m gonna enjoy seeing their relationship develop sm. Another good shoujosei coming our way I’m excited. I love these sorts of stories idc how many times we get them and having a smart male lead makes it even better. |

| Am I the only one that winced/cringed when Cyrus confused the two sisters so easily? Other than that...I'm waiting for Marie to get enlightened (or someone explain the mix-up to her eventually) because I'd be as confused as her if I was in her shoes going through the whole "I'm preparing you to be wed"...."But I thought you loved my sister"....confusion. Ugh....idk....it's potentially heart-wrenching but in a good or bad way I've yet to tell... edit: btw, imo right now Maid is BEST CHARACTER. Just saying. |

| I can smell cheesiness in the air, I like cheesy. But this cheese need a seasoning, which means Marie's parents, if you can call them that, need to die in a horrifying way. Sadly no "Beautiful all along" trope montage. No surprise, after years of mistreatment, makes that to a person. |

It was already obvious in the first episode that it was a mistake with the names of both of them (since the one who was at Mari's birthday party was Anastasia, so he thought the sister he met earlier was Anastacia) |

| The introduction felt very shoujou romancey with the main character being mistreated and incessantly insecure. I’m curious what the tone the show will primarily focus on going forward because it felt super awkward in this episode - mc is getting abused in such an over the top way and suddenly lost her beloved sister, yet the scenes immediately after go for a campy feeling with comedic misunderstandings and chibi reactions. Honestly, with how abrupt/vague the sister death scene was, maybe she’s still alive and the whole premise of “princess dies in a cart crash so her sister marries her fiancé instead” will become less yucky? Idk it just seems like a weirdly morbid setup for a romcom lol |

Putting the parents aside, what happened to Anastasia was truly tragic. But I guess, since this is just the prologue of the anime, we're supposed to let it slide for now. In any case, I’m glad Marie found someone who might be able to fill the void left by her late big sister. Anastasia was her only source of love and support, after all. I’m not sure how Marie and Kyros are going to pace their relationship, but whatever happens, I just hope the parents get exactly what they deserve for everything they put their own daughter, Marie, through. |

| Opening song slaps! I wonder if that weird green on her hair is gonna be a plot point or if it's just a stylistic choice, becuase if it's the latter... Then it is a choice indeed. That Kyros' maid is such a great character, strong, cute and funny, "feel free to slap her" made me laugh. I'm in love with Kyros' design, he seems like a nice character too, BUT HIS MOTHER? HOLY SHIT, literally made me speechless. Overally it's fine, but I'm kinda lost what's gonna happen in another 11 episodes, because all the conflict for now seems to be her lack of confidence, I'm worried it's gonna be dragged. Unless her parents are gonna play some part again, but seeing how they hate her I don't think they even care what's gonna happen to her. |

| @Yasminaa Yo, that’s actually a really interesting theory, and it could make sense, especially when you consider how much she’s into clothes too. Of course, she hasn’t gone through the same cruelty Marie has, but she was still used as a political pawn by her parents. So yeah, I wouldn’t put a move like that past her, haha. In any case, let’s stick with Marie’s point of view for now. If Anastasia happens to be alive, I doubt we’ll see her before the finale, probably as a season cliffhanger or something like that, you know? |
| It's pretty cute. I like it because the prince is sweet (physically and behaviourally) and the maids, especially Mio is not just an ordinary maid but also strong and on Marie's side. I thought the story would be like Cinderella but it turns out Anastasia was a good person. It's sad that she died but Kyros almost married the wrong person :'D both Marie and Anastasia are beautiful, though, Anastasia is more delicate and cute while Marie is more mature and elegant. Instead of Anastasia, it was their parents who should have died. Seriously. Worst. Did they exclude Marie because of her red hair? I'm pretty sure she was born that way. But I'm curious too, why she's the only redhead in the family. I hope their parents get karma or something bad for what they've done to their daughters. |
