Oh poor Alina. They literally put her reputation and secret at stake. I know Jade really wanted her to be a member of his guild but this was really pushing it. She had another round of solid fighting in her executioner form.

On another note, I actually enjoy seeing Lululee and Alina's relationship in this anime. It's kinda charming and not tense like she has with some others (looking at you Jade).

Alina being concerned about her vacation time was funny.
Also she was working in a bar/tavern suggesting that that bar/tavern might be run by family if she was looking for a stable job doesn't that work as well?
Guess there must be something special about being a receptionist even with all the troublesome aspects of the job.

The dude who betrayed his own party and Jade's party got double crossed by the dark god himself, serves him right. Alina having flashbacks may be a sign that she should come and rescue Silver Sword.

Also, the OP and ED switch up got me.

She could've asked for a lot more it... Probably enough to retire, even if indirectly.

Expecting the crystal to light up too late, maybe she'll rush over there due to her dream.

I laughed so hard when the ending song started playing right after the Guild Master used his time skill! 😂
That was really creative!
Same goes for the fact that everything that was frozen in time was black and white and only he was colored.
But when Alina broke free, she regained her color as she is now able to move like him.
That was my favorite part of the episode.
Otherwise, the show feels like a typical isekai/fantasy, but with acceptable animation; sometimes even good animation.
(I was impessed by the movement of the werewolf! Big monsters usually move very little or are cg.)
I don't have much to comment on anything else.

Though Alina's reason for obtaining her skill may sound silly not everyone likes doing OT. About time we got to see how party's fight in this series. Don't envy Lulu's shock at encountering adventurers thats beyond help though. Still as an incursion group Silver sword would likely encounter even more powerful monsters in their forays. The insight into Shroud though was pretty sad. I can totally see the dark god showing up and carving his way through multiple parties as easily as cutting through butter. Rufus getting backstabbed was excellent karma lol.

So, the ending is now the beginning and the beginning is now the ending?

I would've asked for the mortgage being paid in full, Alina. Just saying 😏

What comes next is basically Alina being Kratos, I think.

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

Hahahaha let’s all laugh at Rufus dumbass. I have no idea why Jade and Silver Sword even let themselves be bossed around by him, am I missing something or who tf even was he? Either way, rest in PISS. Betrayed your own party mates and tried sacrificing Jade and the group just to get stabbed in the back yourself. Poetic. Based on the flashback, it looks like he was recruited to help someone revive Silha, but who??

Speaking of backstories, nice to learn a little more about Alina and her motivations. RIP Shroud who was a big influence to her, she must see a lot of him in Jade. Hopefully she realizes something is up with this dungeon run and shows up to save them before anyone gets seriously hurt. This would be the first big test for her too. Maybe their powers come from the same source since her casting circle is similar to his?

Normally a new dungeon would be great for adventurers in a fantasy show, but for Alina it’s an administrative nightmare!

This anime is deadlier than I want it to be. I think most casualties including what happen in Alina's past can be avoid while at the same time retaining the traumatic feeling, but I respect the author choice.

Meanwhile, the adventurers are all like, "Paid leave? What's that? Is it tasty?"

Alina defeats Za Warudo Guildmaster, but still gets suckered into the dungeon with the promise of more receptionists to cover the workload. Whose responsibility do you think it will be to train all those receptionists, Alina? The wolf man looked decent, we've checked the box for a very generic dead mentor backstory, and the actions of the blond dude have me lamenting that every villain in this series appears to be of the mustache-twirly, Saturday morning cartoon variety. Party dynamics... too soon to make a call. Interesting choice to swap the OP and ED for this episode. Continuing, but probably only for Alina.

I wonder why can't they offer Alina same benefit as the receptionist without the OT? she's already loving the luxury bedroom and everything that come with it being with Silver Sword.

Thanks for fellow members provided me with the spoilers, so I understand why she doesn't want to be an adventurer (this episode also touched on that), but since she has the dia skill, she should be pretty much unbeatable? she will be a great addtion to Silver Sword

btw, why that Rufus moron can force Silver Sword into let him join the party? but I am so glad he's dead.

Alina needs to read the book "The Art of the Deal" because she's a terrible negotiator even when the meeting's in her favor. She could've asked for a promotion to be in charge of the receptionist and her mortgage to be paid in full.

If you've seen Deadpool, there’s that joke about how they could only afford Colossus and one angsty teenage girl. Well, this anime gives off a similar vibe.

We’re introduced to the "almighty" Silver Guild and their impressive Silver Inn, which looks big enough to comfortably house 50+ people. And yet… there are only three members. Seriously, that’s it?

Then there’s this super-secret, uber-powerful dungeon that apparently requires only the best to investigate. And this is the team we’re sending in? Really? Come on, guys, this is as lame as it gets.

And let’s not forget the cliché: “My hero died in childhood, so now I don’t want to adventure.” Cue the eye roll.

Look, I know I’m ranting a bit, but hear me out. The art is cute, and while the premise has been done to death, it does have potential. But so far, it hasn’t delivered anything substantial enough to bump it up to a solid 7/10. Fingers crossed it improves!

Side note, be slapstick funny or be serous, but bouncing around makes it bad in my opinion.

Could you imagine if 100 girlfriends was written in a serious vibe? You gotta know what cliches, tropes, and genres you are hitting and live in the fun of it.

Yeah, I also may have spoken too soon about Alina having no reason to avoid adventuring as a job.

But... it's also not that interesting of a reason. Some guy she used to know died. That's it? We don't know anything about him or his relationship with Alina.

Why did she get a job at the adventurer's guild, anyway? Is it because the dead guy suggested it to her, and this is somehow honoring his memory...? In this job, she'll have to see (or at least hear about) lots of adventurers getting killed all the time. Not as comfy as she constantly makes it out to be.

It doesn't even look like she can't bring herself to become an adventurer, because we've already seen her do it. Multiple times. At no point did she look uncomfortable or anxious in a dungeon. She was all-business and maaaybe mildly annoyed she had to be there... just a bit.

The show just feels very slapped-together and barebones... I might check back in once the season is over, but I have low expectations.

Wow I have to say this is the best episode yet, although I am a little sad to see what looks like the end of the receptionist life. The flashbacks to see why Alina didn't want to be an adventurer when she sees the dead bodies was interesting. Alina going from wanting to go back to her receptionist life so bad to questioning if the party will really be ok leads me to think she will get sucked into the party. I have a feeling they may try to sneak a curveball in there somewhere but either way I am her for it, love this show.

The guy who trapped them to feed to the Dark God had a terrible plan, crazy for him to think that would work. He did look like a crazy mofo so maybe that was the intent.

Appreciate the bits of backstory she's given, hope that's not all she'll get (although I imagine they'll explain how she actually acquired her dia skill in the first place later). Her negotiating for more staff was pretty funny as well. The action definitely looks kind of meh but it's not terrible. Hope there's a bit more comedy in the next one but that probably won't happen given how this episode ended and the general direction of her character

why do they humor that blond a-hole?
Telling the townspeople that the executioner is a monster is not a threat at all...
Even if someone believes him, why would Alina care? It's not like it matters to her whether her secret identity has a good reputation or not.
If he had seen her face and used that as leverage it would have been much better imo and since he died it wouldn't change the outcome/story at all.

Cliche turn of events and backstory but I'm interested in more lore. Was gonna say that piece of shit needs to die but he already got what he deserved. Though was very dumb of them to just let Alina go and take the piece of shit with them even while knowing that the enemy has dia skill which outranks sigurth skill and they have noway to win. Dunno why guildmaster approved of it either.

Rufus' imminent death was written on the walls the moment he burst into the GM's office demanding he replace Alina as part of Silver Sword's party roster; he was up to no good coz of his greed, and he died without even having a taste of the power he craved; that was his karma for sacrificing his party members' lives.

So Alina's desire to be a receptionist doesn't come from laziness but rather deep seated trauma. I wonder if seeing those dead adventurers up close is going to make her have a crisis of conscience when she's one of the people sending these adventurers out into dungeons in the first place.

Novel writers, manga writers, show writers, movie writers, video game writers... THIS is how a strong yet likable female protagonist must be written, please take note of it.
Alina is strong in both power and personality, yet she remains extremely cute and attractive, and is also a legitimately relatable adult, she is the perfect female protagonist.

I liked this episode a lot, the Silver Sword party is a fun one, it was nice to see Alina working with them for a bit. And that dark god at the end, I loved how he killed that one fucker and then began to say shit about his soul.

Tragic past. 😭😭😭
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

A really interesting episode which gives us a peek at Alina's sad past (and kinda explain -at least partly- why she is determined to stay a receptionist at all costs), has some decent action and reveal an interesting monster/ dark god.
That's quite a pinch the party ends up in but I have no doubt that the crystal given to Alina will play a role next week.
I liked how Alina warmed up a little bit to the party, she's not as hostile to them as before.

That sort of trauma at a young age will mess you up. I swear a lot of people here have no idea how illogical people can be, especially when you're living it and not just watching the story. Alina's reactions and flashback when she saw those bodies in the Chalk Tower is PTSD like. It doesn't matter how theoretically she's the strongest thing the adventures know, if that's not part of her internalised confidence, it won't help.

This episode did bring out her worry over the Silver Sword when before she just found Jade annoying and a threat to her peace. So we'll see next time how her newfound worry, past trauma and ridiculous power come together. Plus Chekhov's amulet.

So the vague parody element is lost after a whole 2 episodes and now it's just straight forward OP mc shit.

Aren't these cartoon villains of the past two episodes super interesting?

Everything about this show is so flat. It might work as a quick gag manga, but as a full anime you really see how lifeless it all is. The world is so shallow and artificially confined to just these handful of characters with no sense of scope or lived-in-ness...which would be fine for half-baked parody. It relies entirely on preexisting trope knowledge and genre savviness that the viewer just fill in the blanks: "it's just like show 'x'" or "like jrpg 'y'" and you just fill in the rest. Again, fine for a parody but not nearly enough for a full fledged story you are supposed to care about and get immersed in.
