| Frieren didn't set the bar at all if we're talking about iconic anime female elves. Sure, she's popular and liked by many, but her impact on the market and overall "iconic" character is mogged by at least several characters of the past, with Deedlit from Record of Lodoss War standing on the top. So, in this regard, nope, Frieren didn't even reach standards represented by, say, Deedlit or Pirotess. Again, it doesn't mean she's a bad anime elf. She's alright, but she's just one of many elves appearing from time to time in anime, and receiving usually temporary popularity, without leaving much impact on the medium as a whole. |

| Yeah bro she's called Galadriel. And Elrond. And Lúthien (personal favorite elf). And Arwen. And Feanor maybe although the lack of a film adaptation meand that he isn't as iconic. Gil-galad? Ok he isn't really mainstream. Legolas though? Legolas is pretty iconic. |

| Well, time goes on, new stories are told. Frieren showed to studios/producers that properly written and drawn elf can be popular and thus profitable. Maybe some mangakas noticed too. Since new stories are told, I think chances for new popular elf are high, problem is that there will be a group of people who will scream "this new elf is rip-off of Frieren", some will incline toward this too, thus this new elf will have a harder time. |
