Since anime adaptation of popular franchise keep crashing in recently, so is there any specific one you want to see in anime form? We getting lotr animated movie too.
I mean not in like adaptation of the same story, but as prequel( or spin off, side story), like edgerunners is a prequel to the game.

I would want anime of another cdpr game ie witcher. From the movies Back to the future would be interesting to see.

Part of me wants to see what the Japanese would do with Captain Planet especially fact it had an anti whaling message in an ep before (though I dont think whaling is that big anymore but fuck them for hunting dolphins still), and it has some aspects that I can see as fitting in anime.

I want a Life is Strange anime series.

The core concept of the games of "everyday people with supernatural powers in a slice of life drama" is a setup that screams "anime". Hell, the main protagonist for the first game looks like a Westernized version of your typical brunette anime girl with bangs.

No More Heroes (I mean it's just begging to be adapted)
Z.O.E. however closer to the OVA,not like Dolores (darker like the games)
Max Payne
Ghostrunner
Blazblue
Observer
Hellgate:London
The Evil Within
Dead Space (I mean the animated movie from back when was great but I wouldn't mind another one)
F.E.A.R.

Totally Spies. I never watched much of the show, but from what I've seen and heard from others, It's not that far off from being a fanservice heavy anime. Might as well go all the way.

But on a personal level, I'd want to see a Ben 10 anime. The potential of having crazy alien transformations based on Japanese mythology and urban legends. Sign me up. Also a little love towards Generator Rex while they're at it would be appreciated.

I think Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series would be much better in anime form than it was in book form. It's got all the right ingredients. Action, adventure and romance in the form of many girls fighting for the affection of an edgy, yet bland self insert protagonist. It even has tsunderes!!!

I doubt Jordan ever watched an anime in his life but this sort of fantasy is build in to us healthy straight adult males no matter what.

@LenRea Yeah anime lost it's identity in the 70s when some of the biggest shows were Akane No Anne and Heidi.

To answer the question, I know he wants it in live action however, Sanderson's works, particularly Mistborn, would fit into anime quite well.

its been my greatest wish since i got into anime that harry potter be adapted into anime. 1 book chapter per episode. i would be absolutely elated. in ghibli style with character designs a mix of the movie actors + the author's envisioning. the vibes would be absolutely unmatched. it would become the greatest if adapted properly.

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.

Anime adaptation of tokutatsu super Sentai with even more darker theme in like a night slot like redo of healer on AT-X. Can be a new team or a story in a existing team considering MAO is now a seiyuu and was gokai yellow in gokaiger so she could reprise her role.

@Alpha-Nine The story gives off a lot of anime vibes, but the choices you make are one of the main aspects of the game that made it so appealing, so I doubt it could work well as an anime, but again there is already lot of anime that uses the concept of going back in time so it could actually work depending on how it handled, plus I would love to see max as an anime girl :)

"Any franchise you want to see in anime?"

Half--Life with the art and style of Terminator Zero...which I hated as writing, but liked visually.

"Back to the future"

I don't think the japanese writers can replicate the american humor from it. Like it's not Time Bokan or Time Patrol Bon.

Actually there's already such - https://myanimelist.net/anime/18767/BlazBlue__Alter_Memory but maybe you want a good one?

Personally, I've never been excited about anime adaptations of non-Japanese/East-Asian stories or franchises (not unless the writers take a very strong Japanese spin on it). There are talented animation studios outside of Japan, not everything needs to be "anime".

I don't like seeing all the foreign influence. Even if it's the same art style, it stops feeling like anime to me.

Maybe 'Arry Po'ah. I think that's perfect for anime, it even has a tournament arc (Goblet of Fire) etc.

I also see people saying Life is Strange. Yeah, that could work, it would basically just be Link Clink/Erased, just with extremely pretentious art students instead (okay that's kinda mean xD)

I agree with the people who've said Harry Potter, even though I've never really gotten into it myself. Yes, I have been called out for never watching or reading it. I guess that's a bad thing or something. Maybe an anime could be my gateway to the rest of the series. I actually think the way things are going with what's being adapted, there's a very strong possibility it could happen. I mean, they did Terminator, and I feel like with the newer movies, the popularity of that tanked off a while ago. The only thing is, I wouldn't get my hopes up about it adapting the series one to one though. If these other adaptions, both older and more recent, have taught me anything; it's that more likely than not, it'll have a completely original story. At most it might be set in the same universe. It might not even have Harry as the main character.

@FanofAction The problem is that a lot of anime nowadays are financed by non-Japanese producers so it's not like there's an actual Japanese demand for Solo Leveling, Suicide Squad, Rick and Morty, Terminator and Lord of the Rings anime all in the same year.

@LenRea Yes, well...Not to jump on the modern anime hatewagon. There are some newer things I really like. Buuuut. Considering what is being made based on the Japanese market, I could use a little variety, even if if that comes from outside sources. Though, and I say this as someone who actually enjoyed it, the Suicide Squad anime wasn't really helping with the "too many isekai" complaint a lot of people have.

Anyway, If these non Japanese franchises are going to be milked, I'd rather they be milked with a fresh coat of paint. Also I'd rather have an anime adaptation of a western thing than the other way around...

I haven't seen the show but I've heard nothing good about it. Seems they were trying to force the story into a gritty, adult sort of HBO/Game of Thrones format when it was actually a much more traditional fantasy adventure.

the first 2 or 3 volumes were pretty darn good. The problem is, after the initial setup, the story began to move at a snails pace bogged down with a lot of superfluous junk. I would hope that an anime adaptation takes the axe to a lot of that stuff. But some of it would make good little side episodes with an SOL/comedy vibe.

Oh, I'm not actually suggesting a direct adaptation of the game/s.

I would rather see a spinoff, similar to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners or the Fallout TV series.

Now, if an anime adaptation is going have the main characters such as Max return in a leading role, I propose that it covers events that happen before or after the games (e.g., an anime that takes place between the first game and the upcoming Life is Strange: Double Exposure).

nishant0 said:
