Following the broadcast of the 12th and final episode of Ao no Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati-hen (Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga) on Sunday, a new series was announced. The special stage for the anime at AnimeJapan 2024 will announce more information later today.

Produced by Studio VOLN, the third season began airing on January 7. Crunchyroll simulcast the season with subtitles and subsequently streamed an English dub.

The anime series adapts Kazue Katou's action fantasy manga, which began in Jump SQ. in April 2009. Shueisha published the 30th volume on January 9.

The first anime season by A-1 Pictures aired in 25 episodes in Spring 2011. The Ao no Exorcist Movie (Blue Exorcist The Movie) side story anime movie premiered in Japan in December 2012.

The Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujouou-hen (Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga) sequel television anime aired in 12 episodes in Winter 2017, covering till the earlier chapters of the ninth volume. The 19th and 20th volumes each bundled an original video anime episode in April and October 2017.

VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in November 2010 and released the 28th volume on November 14. The company and Shueisha's Manga Plus platform simulpublishes the chapters in English.

Is the sequel worth attention? I only watched the first season and had mixed feelings then.

They worded “new series” will this be a reboot or remake? I'm confused.
Remember what Master Oogway told us:

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.

@RobertBobert neither watched, nor read it but people are saying that the current season adapts the best manga arc.

So does that mean we don't need to wait 7 years again for the next season?

@Nachtwandler_21 I've become a little more motivated about battle shonens now, but when I watched the first season in the second half of the '10s, it seemed rather not my cup of tea.
