 Television channel Tokyo MX announced a television anime adaptation of Mamakari's Debu to Love to Ayamachi to! (Plus-sized Misadventures in Love!) manga on Friday and showed a character design visual (pictured above). Mamakari began serializing the romantic comedy manga in Koisuru Soirée magazine in August 2019. Solmare Henshuubu shipped the seventh volume on February 3. The publisher also publishes the manga in English through the MangaPlaza website. Synopsis "This is the punishment for a fat, ugly girl like me falling in love with someone as beautiful as you..." Yumeko had a mountain of complexes about herself. Then, a terrible accident befalls her. Though somehow saved from the brink of death, Yumeko wakes up a completely different person. "This is...me...?! I'm SO cute!!" Those around her can't hide their surprise and wonderment at this 180°change... But, Yumeko's new hyper-positive attitude starts to change her surroundings, too. Worries and complexes can affect anyone, and Yumeko will chop right through those of her various supporting characters!! In love, work, friendship... And an attempted murder case?! | Hah, I almost immediately realized that this was shoujo. Well, I have nothing against it, although I can already see what a mess the information environment around this anime will be in the West. I hope that more anime will have good plus-size characters, and not just 1-2 within the gag. |

| This looks wholesome. Based on the summary, I like that she doesn't "transform" into a skinny person and keeps her appearance instead. On the fence about watching it since the one review in the manga's database said she seemed like a caricature. |

| @bastek66 I'm not sure if the reference to her weight in the title is meant to criticize someone for being overweight. This isn't Aho Girl, where the protagonist objectively has problems and the title is mocking it. |

| @bastek66 Facts are Facts... no matter how much is hurt someone. Japanese people just to simple. They don't get but hurt for thing like this easily. Not mention japanese people usually not too fat like forexample American people. American people get everything too offensively. I bet most of the people who say "it's sounds offensive" not even part of the offended category. A fat people usualy don't get offend if you call them fat. Because they are know they are fat. There is some person who are fat because they have some illiness. But there is many person who just fat because they are lazy to do things against it. And instead try to fix them self they pick that lifestyle and embrace that thyself. |

It's not about MAL at all, it's about the fact that many people can't think of anything other than going to the opposite extreme in response to things that seem excessive to them. In my opinion, the idea that you are sensitive if you are offended by harsh language is no better than the idea that language should be as sterile as possible so as not to offend anyone. These are different ends of the horseshoe. |
