Gotta stop posting in intro section topics. It absolutely goes nowhere, and introducing myself make me look like some naive optimistic kid. I was a kid, but I wasn't naively optimistic.

Is it ok if I ask myself some questions here?

My first experience on the net was when I was looking for a Ragnarok Online bot program, instead of getting help from others, I learned the program on my own lol. I got so into it that I decided to make a help thread for it to help other people and became a moderator for Ragnarok Online bots. hehe~ weird. I sucked at English back then and I still suck today but not that much. I guess I was 12 back then, O.o? 9 years ago? Holy

As stupid as a 13-year-old boy, what can I say?

The first time I even touch a computer was when I was 13 years old--and there was only 2 more months until I turn 14.

Nice...I'm 13 as well, and I've been on the net since I was 8. I was a big idiot back then. The retarded concieted things I've said, thinking I was so amazing.

It's kinda embarrassing to think back on it.

But, I'd say I've gotten better at this kinda thing. At least I don't troll or anything stupid like that.

I was about twelve and it was a Cardcaptors forum. I can't find it now, but I made an account under the name of Ms. McKenzie. I thought I was hot stuff because I had seen Princess Mononoke (and no one else had apparently). I think my writing was okay.

I believe my first forum account was on the Adult Swim message boards. I was ignored a lot of the time but I had a few good friends. I was 10 or 11 back then, I didn't know a thing about grammar, spelling or how to articulate my thoughts.
Those were the days, everything seemed so simple back then. :P

I would say I lacked confidence more than anything. Even being around lots of people on the net scared me. Needless to say, I changed a lot. But I would say I was probably dumb for my standards even if I wasn't an online asshole or a troll until recent times.

My first forum experience was a long long time ago. I was a part of this international Penpal thing for school. I was nervous for some reason and always tried to find something the other person liked so i could like it also. Same went for public group forums. Not until years later did i learn to just be myself and be happy with what i say, like, feel,do and who i am lol.

When i first started i was that guy who tended to say catch phrases or words that he didnt know but wanted to act like he did.

I was on cute, pixel BBS sites (look at All Things Kawaii and Oh My Cuteness for an idea of what I was interested in) that closed down forcing me to relocate to LiveJournal. I was an idiot that increased my post count for the sole reason of getting pixels in the BBS shops (though some of them had games to collect points which was more fun). I was like nine, and liked cute things.

I think the only site other than MAL that I really was active on and still exists is HPANA. I'd still be on there but the site went downhill once the books were finished. I actually had a pretty decent post count on there (1300+) which is saying something because they had a character limit, didn't allow smileys or bad grammar, and only counted certain boards toward your post count.

The first time I went on a chat room was when I was 9, I remember I was insisting that I was 16-18 year old to some person (how much of an idiot I was back then as my grammar was poor!) because I didn't want to give any personal info away..

The first time I properly went on a forum was around 12/13 (excluding neopets xD). It was a Final Fantasy forum, very popular back then and I think it still is. I was some crazy maniac who just talked in a kawaii way, makes me feel sick reading back on them.

I have Internet at home since 2000. Back in the day, there were very few Message Boards so it was kind of hard to become a troll or a retard.

I used to spend most of my days at Geocities making shitty websites, now that it has closed nobody will see my embarassing websites any longer.

Back in the day?/1//1/?!!?!? the year 2000 wasn't back in the day. Message boards wern't the norm "back in the day"

I was on the internet since day 1 thanks to my stepdad being the tech geek that he is. I was there with the dial ups o the Bulletin Board Systems that friends and locals around town created in their homes. We played generic 1980's style rpgs (Land of Devastation, the true first OnlineRPG) and doom. We'd figure ways to play games together and things like that since LAN was pretty much the only way to play against more than one person.

BULLETIN BOARDS were the way to go, then there was News Groups. Newsgroups were a little tough to navigate but overall you coould get anything you want. Which is now transformed into what we call torrents. Man some people need to school up on the history of the internet.
But as for me experience wise, everyone was much more courteous and such since the majority of people were tech heads. And the only way to communicate with most other people required many steps that any current-gen average internet goer would not even have a clue how to communicate.
I was there on AOL1.0. That was the start of easy communication via chatrooms and more organized message boards. I was the dude that was trying to sex up the girls (i was like 12 at the time). We even had internet access from the first Macintosh ever made. Man those were the days.

I think I was 10 or 11 when I started to post on forums and getting socially related to others (crunchyroll, anyone?) I was really dumb there, being innocent I am.xD And I'm easily scared to users with high points or posts than me, telling some bad shit about my post LOL I have that experience when I tried to be active at the otakuzone.com. I never visited that site after that incident. I'm a scaredy cat, even now. :))

The Internet was always there for me. The first time I went on a forum, I must've been 9 or 10. It was a nondescript gaming forum that was hardly ever busy.

I really liked it. I've been anal about my spelling and grammar ever since I could spell, so no problems there.

On a side note, I discovered DeviantArt years before forums; I was prevented from using it due to the name, which left the impression on my father that it was some kind of "devil-worshipping" site.

Never really cared and didn't know anything about the net till I was 12 and use to thought the net was for reading and news. When I started getting more interactive with forums and games I was paranoid about Identity theft a lot.

I remember going into games/mmo forums and getting caught up in arguments about my incoherent nonsense and grammer. Well I'm more use to being in forums that I just try to stay away from trouble now..

I was more or less the same; I'd always type like I was writing a paper in school. The only difference, really, was that I was a lot more passionate about my opinions then. Nowadays, I just kinda sit back and chill. Ain't worth getting into any healthy discussions 'cause the discussions always turn sour. I remember my Philosophy teacher in college hammering one of the "golden rules" in debating: it's okay to attack the idea, but never the person with the idea. Seems like people are quick to throw in personal insults and stuff like that. That really bothers me a lot, so I just don't involve myself in those kinds of topics anymore.

My style of posting now is more of posting to get someone to crack a smile or to brighten a person's day. Whether it be from one of my compliments or just a really cheesy joke.

Oh yeah I was a douche ^^
My first only experiences were with Browsergames and their Forums and IRC channels.
I cringe if I read my posts from back than. Not necesserily because of the grammer (I was only active in german forums back then and I was always good at speaking/writing it) but more because of my personality/opinions/stupidness back then ^^. Also I cared way too much about what the Internet may think about me back then :P
Of course I get the idea of being emberassed over bad grammar as I just recently started posting on english forums (meaning MAL) and always feel like a douche when I try to write posts that are longer than a few lines. Because I know how horrible it is for me to read someone posting in bad german I really feel for the american users on MAL who have to put up with us non-english-speakers.
I probably regret this post by now.

Ah youth; I remembered my first post on the internet, and damn it, I was a retard on dope then: I decided to make my first post on a RP, that was realy developed, and here comes some seven year old kid who doesn't even spell his name right (me, for those who are thinking of your mothers) who decides to ask a bunch of dumb ass questions. I wonder it it's still there.....
"Life...It's the most difficult videogame I've ever played, with the most advanced enemy AI, too many events and quests constantly updated, and for over 16 years so far, i haven't found any save point D: I have yet to beat this game. I've looked up for some cheat codes, but most of them involve finding some kind of herbal items, and none of them really maxes out stats or gives invincibility."

I just found this on my first forum.

"Well, I think (once again, think) Ness has the most powerful spike/meteor smash (dont know the difference  ) at 0%. If you can hit an enemy while off the stage with it, it's nearly always a guaranteed KO. Besides being the most powerful, it's also a blast to use. It just gives you a fuzzy feeling when you pull it off. I remember I had this one game against a lvl 9 CPU snake, where I spiked him at 0% for every kill.
Also, Yoshi has a fun spike. It's rather difficult to pull off, but when you do, it kinda shocks your opponent."

I'm proud of my past self. Correct grammar with a few legitimate colloquialisms thrown in all the way.

Still I looked at the forums there, but was afraid to post for almost a year, and when I did it was funny because I pretty much copied anything the person above me said. Ahhh, bad memories. I don't even remember how young I was, but I was prettty young. >_> Like... elementary young.
I spent all my time on this Kingdom Hearts fan site, posting comments on the fan art pics. That was my forum. I pretty much held long, pointless conversations on the comment streams. And my worst accomplishment: I was a huge flamer. I flamed all the yaoi fan arts that grossed me out (I was an innocent child! ;_;). I was such a meanie; soooo bad, I was posted on a site that deminished hurtful flamers for all the terrible things they write on other's art. LIKE A CRIMINAL. >.< I regret it to this day.

Ha, I was in 4th or 5th grade and it was for this discussion board about a game I loved (VMK). Pretty sure everyone only pretended to accept me, I'm beginning to wonder if I actually had any friends there. I was just obsessive about anything that I liked and I wouldn't give a crap about others. Other times I was really just silly. I was beyond lame.

I'd like to think I've improved since those days. XD

Nowdays I don't really stay on forums anymore..sure,I'm a moderator on the biggest anime forum from my country but...it gets boring after a while.
