What do you think its the most annoying instrument? Not just the instrument itself but also the type of person who plays it. I think it's trumpet but you tell me what you think!

Oh gawd. In one jazz band I was in, I played trombone in front of the trumpet section, with them blaring right into my ears. >_>

That said, trombone players were the worst people, in my experience...excluding myself, of course. :P

I voted bagpipes, because I hate them extremely much. They hurt my ears.

But I also hate all flute-like instruments, because the idea of breating and spitting into a tube sounds extremely gnarly and disgusting to me. Sometimes you actually hear the people spitting. And then I also know that flutists have to clean their flutes off their saliva... brrrr I shiver

The most annoying one I think is brass instruments, if played alone. Although still they can produce nice sound, depending on who plays it

Also I played and taught classical piano, I think piano definitely is the best instrument

What about organ? It's just a bigger better piano with keys you can use with your feet.

I've heard the other three instruments sound good before (yes, even the recorder), but a kazoo never works unless played ironically.

Believe it or not, the bagpipes can actually sound good. Some of my favorite bands of all time use or have used them. (Well, not as a lead instrument, perhaps, but still)

Any sound that comes out of the trumpet, on the other hand, is like nails scrapping down a chalkboard. It damages you to the core, both body and soul.

Trumpet, come on. Is this serious?
Bagpipes are rad, idk what's not to like?
Kazoo, alright I suppose if I had to pick something from the options, but I'm sure it can sounds fine as an accent in songs or played by someone who knows what they're doing.
I may have picked this in the past, but Kuricorder Quartet really made me appreciate them. Great group.

I declare that trumpet is the most annoying as a former trumpet player (trumpeteer?) myself.

@149597871 xD see above
(Although I also play(ed) piano and ocarina. Trumpet was fun in pep band but I wouldn't pick it up again. Except maybe as a homage to KotH and Chuck Mangione)

The sound is simply different, one simply cannot really play Chopin's scherzo or etudes etc. on organ, classical piano pieces are not designed to be played on organ. Some of Bach's pieces played on organ, but those are composed for it. Also the way one play organ and accoustic piano (especially for classical), are completely different

"other"... and the answer is strings. i think they're overrated, overused and way too often put by force into live renditions of songs that didn't have them to begin with. It's not that i hate them 100% to begin with, examples... Still Life by Suede is pretty much a full strings arrangement song and is beautiful, and it doubles down as a clever choice to finish that amazing second studio album of the same band. "Kiss" from Korn's 2007 untitled album has strings and it works pretty good given the context and the rest of the instrumentation. Wild Mood Swings by The Cure has multiple songs with strings but they're used in the right amount and work to make the album a still underrated release.

On the other hand... Korn's unplugged MTV concert was my least favorite thing made by one of my two favorite bands (the other one is The Cure and they even shared the stage at some point during the same event, but i didn't absolutely like the result... as much as i adore both bands, i'm not biased to a point where i feel forced to like everything they did at all costs), there were a lot of strings and the songs felt completely killed off and unrecognizable. A long time ago i accidentally listened to the MTV unplugged version of You Oughta Know by Alanis Morrissette and it sucked... strings, strings, strings, where is the anger that made the track so powerful? And don't get me started about S&M by Metallica, i remember watching a small clip of Jason Newsted that smashed a violin in the backstage and i think it was unironically genuine about what he thought of the concept, and not surprised that he left the band soon after. Seriously, they even made a part 2 twenty years later? And Load / ReLoad are still more unpopular than those two concerts? Come on... those just make me want to defend those albums even harder. Hell, St. Anger is so bad it's entertaining and i'd still return to it more than S&M. Hell, Nothing Else Matters herself in the original studio version didn't need strings in the first place and would have still been fine.

i forgot, i saw from youtube later years live version of Don't You by Simple Minds and Wouldn't It Be Good by Nik Kershaw and they had orchestral players on the stage. Why? And even worse, most comments praised that choice... i'm sick of the preconception that strings make everything better just by existing because they're "artistic", "poetic" or something...

Trumpets actually sound good (although it has a sort of boring sound to it) just not good when played aggressively like in jazz. I'd argue the trombone is more annoying without having to be played aggressively though it can sound good too. The tuba sounds bad when not accompanied in an orchestra just basically a farting robot though usually it's not used that way so not a big deal.

Bagpipes are pretty cool but yes sometimes annoying depending on song and note.

The kazoo is just a toy. It only is ever used as an instrument as a joke. Same with the triangle it only gets used as a joke since normally it is only struct a small number of times in any song.

The recorder isn't that bad inherently since at 415hz and 466hz pitch it sounds better but usually yeah that can sound not good.
