It's for sure To Your Eternity S01E01.

It has an advantage as a first episode as you don't require the prior context of 150 episodes that built up to that moment. It's perfect and complete by itself, viewable and enjoyable at anytime for anybody.

hmm. In my personal opinion, when the main character shows his prowess, the people who had bullied him were immediately shocked by the strength of the main character.
maybe what I mean is anime otome game sekai wa mob ni kibishii sekai desu, maybe something similar

Like most people I've got too many on my list each for a wide variety of reasons, but if I had to pick one that would be Digimon Adventure's Episode 21 (1999), and the reason I'm choosing that one is precisely because that's the one that's the hardest for me to accurately describe why. For very particular personal reasons, that's the one that absolutely has reached deeper inside my own self.

ACK! This is so hard- Probably episode 8 of Chainsaw Man though. It's truly a masterpiece of an episode with the best animation, acting, and music all in one. It'd be pretty hard to top that for me.

Episode 8 of Oregairu Season 2. An episode that was emotionally potent that I have never forgotten after all these years.

Episode 89 of Yu Yu Hakusho -- The scene where Kuwabara is trying to bring out his Jigen-tou sword and has an entire inner monologue reminiscing on the days where he and Yusuke used to fight in school. It was very emotional and showcased a lot of character development not only for Kuwabara, but for the rest of the characters as well.

probably the final episode of eva, even though it's a generic choice.
episodes 6 and 12 respectively of edgerunners. trauma bro.
episode 12 of bakemonogatari. nice change in the tone of the story for once.
and this one isn't an anime but, since i haven't watched the anime yet, gotta say that the first volume of the made in abyss manga was amazingly written.

One piece 278 hands down. There are very few scenes that I can watch in anime that make me both tear up and give me chills. Everything from Luffys declaration to Robin's desperation and the VAs giving it their all. One piece at its best for sure.

May be unpopular here but also Demon Slayer season 2 episode 11. Ufotable's animation and direction in this episode is just amazing. They really make you feel the action and desperation.

Probably biased because I saw it recently but it has to be Episode 12 of Lycoris Recoil for me. I just found it very impressive to witness how so many characters, ideals and goals crashed in one place on top of some excellent character moments.

My fave episode in all the anime I've seen is from Gintama, forgot which episode #.

Kagura starts going to radio exercises in the local plaza every day to fill out her stamp card. She meets a new friend who, rain or shine, would show up with her to do the radio exercises. One day her new friend stops going, and she finds out he's chronically ill and doesn't have time left. She still shows up, rain or shine to get those stamp cards for both of them. Then eventually the entire Odd Jobs gang shows up, and all the friends they've made throughout the series start showing up too to be with her.

I hella cried when I watched this ep lol. It showed me how meaningful this anime meant to me.

I think I can easily say that Violet Evergarden episode 10

Also episode 18 of Clannad: After Story

And finally, episode 7 of ef: A Tale of Memories with

They have seen many other episodes of various animes that have marked me or make me remember no matter how much time passes, that they are too good, but these would be the main 3.

Why do you care so much if he likes edgy 80's stuff? Funny how it's always the ones who are accusing other ppl of being ''elitist'' who are the first ones to look down on other people preferences.

S3E4 when I'm low key horny for Kan'u's ass.

I mean her dump truck/bakery is right there, within the first minute or two, and again half way though. It's rather difficult to ignore.

Stupid sexy Kan'u. Yet I refuse to indulge because it would make things too awkward.

For me, it'll ALWAYS be Tokyo Ghoul season 1 episode 11 and 12. I have always believed that true transcendence (a state where no physical/mental pain/pleasure matter anymore, the highest state a being can reach) can be achieved through eternal torture until an individual is completely desensitized to it and rises 'above these feelings'.

I plan on writing a review someday.

86 part 2 ep 11 - "shin".

good lord what a work of art. the most beautifully constructed and audiovisually arresting bit of storytelling i have probably ever seen. watching that shit was like a transcendental experience.

especially impressive considering the whole episode is LITERALLY just

I must have missed this when it appeared. I'm more of enjoying a show as a whole but there were several LOGH episodes that I loved, even if it is not one of my favourites. Speaking of this show

it is neither edgy nor obscure.

There are more examples, but if I had to choose a single favourite episode that would be the first of Kyousogiga for all of its lore and worldbuilding that drops in just 20 minutes. Too bad my opinion about the rest of the show is not as positive, as I didn't find it nearly as good.

there are a lot of episodes that i love.

a lot of them, i consider to be better than this.

but i have to go for episode 21 of steins;gate 0. it just has my personal favorite scene in anything. and i don't think anything can top the feeling of hearing reawaken for the first time.

Session 5 Ballad of Fallen Angels from Cowboy Bebop is still unsurpassed in my opinion. The episodic script of Cowboy Bebop allowed for some of the best episodes I´ve ever seen, pretty much all of them are amazing.

There's a few that stick out to me. Most recently was Oshi no Ko's premiere episode, which in my opinion was the perfect opener. The next is episode 12 of Bakemonogatari. The whole episode felt different from the rest of the season, and the "confession(?)", I guess(?), was really nice. Finally, the last one that sticks out to me is episode 7 of Black Lagoon.

If I could only pick one then it would always be episode 11 of Natsume Yuujinchou Go! But if I could pick more than one then episode 10 of Gin no Saji S1 and episode 8 of Uchouten Kazoku S1 as well.

Those three episodes have something really similar between each other, about death, regret, fear, futility and loneliness.. but also there is life, forgiveness, maturity, sincerity and positive outlook and steps. All three episodes were bittersweet for me but also matured me in how I see, think and respond to things. It made me cry and think that in the end everything is futile and has no meaning... but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy the good things that also happened along the way. It would just be a completely pointless and meaningless thing if I just let it pass by and was sad and regretful about it, so I thought it would be nice if I could treasure the days that are left and spend them joyfully :)
