| I watched some Cardcaptor Sakura episodes when I was a child but I don't remember anything about it. Then as a teen I watched InuYasha and read Rave Master. My first full romance anime if I remember correctly was Ore Monogatari! or Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. I believe my third was Plastic Memories. |

| I remember reading and finishing the manga of Bokura ga Ita in Italian; I had bought all copies (Noi c'eravamo) and got serious butterflies, so much so that I went back to it and watched the anime. I would totally recommend it. It is not your typical romance: it's kinda sad, kinda depressing (which is why I liked it so much) but also real and heartfelt. It starts off as your typical shoujo but then switches gears and delves into the downsides and bad facets of love and relationships. It sells very well the message that if you really love someone, you are willing to suffer and sacrifice yourself for them. also... if you like bittersweet endings, like me, this will definitely be your cup of tea!!  |

I don't remember which I watched first, may have even watched at the same time. I remember thinking it was funny how I happened to watch 2 anime with main guys having tiny pupils around the same time. | Oh boy. That is a while ago and since I prefer romance, quite a few animes since then too. Some of my early ones were Ai Yori Aoshi, Summer Wars, Byousoku 5 centimeter, Golden Time and more. But I think Summer Wars was first. |

The art isn't simply outdated, there are older animes like Noir that still look good. What made me drop it is that after the first episode there is 5 flashback episodes then the first episode copy pasted again. |
