| That was a great episode and Left it open for two interpretations. I’m leaning toward the darker outcome but that’s just me. Both episodes been solid so far. |

| For anyone that liked this episode, hey that's fine. But to me it was not good, it was just to vague. All I can see is the dad watching over them and then killing them for some unknown reason. Between the weird stalking style pictures, to the freaky erratic things he wrote that seemed more ominous than anything. Then the weird list marked through, ending with "reaping" and they even mention the symbolism of cutting down (reap) the weeds. Then there laying there looking like lifeless bodies more than a people sleeping and then that smile on that picture did not look a "at peace" smile, it looked psychotic! I just don't know what truth he told them and he didn't talk to them in any way it was just all there speculation. Just not enough info for me to even make an assumption of what this was all supposed to mean, I can't even make a guess like some other open ended ones they've done were at least you had enough info to get an idea of what happened. Idk just not my bag. |

But I was looking around and one guy in the Crunchyroll comments section had a good idea about how the dad probably became a vengeful spirit that was upset he couldn't look after his kids anymore so decided to take them with him instead. If you looked at how he acted and lived it seemed more malevolent and crazy then anything and I think instead of doing all those good things of talking to his kids, telling them the truth and being a good father and doing something for them one last time. He turned evil at the end maybe because he didn't get to do those things and so crossed them out on purpose and wrote reap instead. So they weren't crossed out for good reason but he decided he'd rather just reap them instead, which is why the picture changed from the face they always new him to have to some crazy evil looking face like a vengeful spirit. This is all I can think of, it def didn't look like a happy ending. I think they should have had the kids show up in the picture along side him to get the point across better. |

| Yami shibai has one scary episode per season - I guess this was it. 刈り取る means 'to reap', 'to harvest' or 'to gather', so it's natural for the kids to assume it's about grass, but...yeah. |

| They're literally using the same frame in the beginning but eh I assured this is the opening. Dad must be living in such a harsh world and his backstory is very sad after the mother's death. The dad smiling at the end is scary but ok. |
| Honestly, not a bad episode. I enjoyed how they pulled everything together. It makes you wonder things like what truth has he not told the kids, why he's only watching them from a distance, and so on. In the end, the truth was he was waiting for his children to become ripe so he could reap/harvest them. If you're super attached to your kids then you're not going to want to reap their souls. He kept a distance and simply kept track of them just like someone taking notes of their crops. Aside from my own farmer character who dresses up as a grim reaper for Halloween every now and then, I've actually never seen someone use the idea of reaping as both for souls and for things that have become ripe simultaneously-- though I'm sure it exists elsewhere. Still, kinda clever. Some things they could have done a little differently, but still not bad. Anyway, I meant to say it last episode, but that opening is pretty creepy. |

| Interesting episode, not sure whether I'd call it good or not. The biggest problem comes down to the vagueness surrounding the dad's actions. A lot of people are speculating on the ending if his ghost killed him or if it actually stayed a wholesome one, it definitely seemed clear to me that he killed them, but regardless of your takeaway the episode has problems. If he killed them, what he wrote in the diary doesn't particularly make sense if he was going to kill them, unless it was some long-con. And if it was the wholesome route, well then it really isn't that wholesome lol. His method of raising his kids being to watch them from afar and note take doesn't make him suddenly a caring father, he's still an asshole. It's nice that the kids would agree to do something in his memory regardless, but the reveal didn't soften my opinion on the father at all. Regardless, the episode reads as a clear set-up for the death, and to that extent I like it. I love that Yami Shibai started incorporating different type of stories, it's one of the biggest reason Season 6 is my favourite season. But ever since they established that as something they do, those stories have always gone one direction, from horror to wholesome. Some exceptions might've been just wholesome but for the first time, the series flipped the script and went from wholesome to horror. That's a novel twist, and I think they did it well enough. |
