What have been your favorite songs of this year?

I'll admit that I haven't kept up with this year's music almost at all, but if I had to pick three standouts, they would probably be "Skate" by Silk Sonic, "Industry Baby" by Lil Nas X, and "Sun Goes Down", also by Lil Nas X.

P.S., I would've picked "Leave the Door Open", but the novelty of it admittedly wore off quickly for me, unlike "Skate". Also, some Olivia Rodrigo might've been expected, but I'm not a huge fan.

All of the songs off of the Nurture album from Porter Robinson. I liked INVISIBLE by Duran Duran; they were really good live. Most of what Bump of Chicken has been really good. But I mean. Other than that, i really haven’t been listening to much music from this year or i don’t think it's noteworthy. I could go on all day about every album release.

Picked up a few artists this year. I'm surprised I had been sleeping on Neutral Milk Hotel for this long despite liking stuff like "Communist daughter" and "Holland 1945" which all slap. Had my eyes set on Glass Beach, surprised i hadn't heard of them until now, but I enjoy their music.

...Why? The song itself is just 80's synth-pop that's in the same vein as Dead or Alive and Gary Numan. And the video isn't all that different from other music videos at the time, but its pretty innocuous.

Dude. The true original music video has nothing to do with Animal Crossing or Zone.

The winner by recency bias would be Mammamia by Måneskin. The official video didn't even come out yet, I'm looking forward to that.

Unless something really comes out of the left field, the final overall winner will probably be Save Your Tears by The Weekend. The remix with Ariana Grande is even better.

You also enjoy Måneskin? Yeah, the attention they get is deserved, I really like their sound.

By the way, Butter is a good choice, even if I kind of prefer the Cooler Remix over the original.

Sadly, nothing. Not counting anime openings and endings, music in general has fallen to total dullness since 2015, and 2021 has been no exception.

It's an ongoing big duel between Dream Theater's A View From The Top Of The World and Trivium's In The Court Of The Dragon for me but former seems to slowly but surely beat the latter

Something did come out of the left field. So far left, in fact, that it shifted the whole Overton Window. Moonbyul really out there, dropping my song of the year the day before the year's end. No recency bias at play here.

Every one of the melodies off of the Nurture collection from Porter Robinson. I enjoyed INVISIBLE by Duran; they were great live. The vast majority of what Bump of Chicken has been great. In any case, I mean. Other than that, I truly haven't been paying attention to much music from this year or I don't believe it's essential. I could go on the entire day about each collection discharge. https://www.eliuperedophotography.com/architectural-photography

Rittenhouse is the definitive song of 2021 from the sheer gravitational weight of its brass balls.
