That was such a great episode. Really highlighting the growth of the good senpai. From just going to the festival in the first place, to grabbing Nagatoro by the hand and leading her to the spot (and turning the tables on her there) and finally from getting her and the rest of the girls away from those two gentlemen of questionable intent. Really goes to show that however awkward and nervous he is, he's actually gaining some confidence and a desire to improve, all thanks to Nagatoro. Great stuff all around.  |

| That festival episode was pretty sweet, and after a long long time, I finally got to see the fireworks ruining yet ANOTHER romantic moment (sigh). I can relate to the moment where Senpai blew his cover for sneaking into the friend group. Atleast Nagatoro fended him up, walked home with him, and pretty much the whole group abandoned the two "cool" boys for the sake of it. Nice stuff. |

| Naoto trying to counter Nagatoro's teasing worked! Until she countered his counter that is. But still, Naoto is growing. That's nice. Gamo-chan and Yoshi looks good in their yukatas. Too bad Nagatoro didn't wear one. I like Sakura's voice. I get the feeling that perhaps she'll be the most troublesome of the bunch. "Still waters run deep" and all that. |

| I noticed this for a few episodes now but Naoto is actually giving retorts to the bullying and insults he receives especially from Nagatoro like in the comedy skit. He's also developing a backbone standing up to the 2 annoying boys and all. Subtle character development. Oof. Gamo and Yoshi had to use a dog collar on him? That must be an odd sight to see in public. People would easily get the wrong idea. On the other hand Naoto also cut Nagatoro from the line and basically took her inside the woods. What did they expect to find there except couples making out? |
| If there's anything I can compliment this anime for, it's that the seiyuu really go all out. That and all the facial reactions. The Hachiouji/Nagatoro dynamic kind of works since they don't really hate each other, but they also can't really decide what to think of each other either. Though, this anime is all about Nagatoro pushing Hachiouji's boundaries, but the slightest pushback seems to fluster Nagatoro just as much. I kind of get what the anime is going for, but it's also kind of indecisive in its direction. I suppose that's also reflective of how indecisive the characters are with regard to how they treat each other, but I'm certain that I'm over thinking it. |

| Makima approves of the first part of this episode Watched this while it was airing in Spring 2021 (nearly 2 years ago, holy sh*t time flies), but ended up kind of soft-dropping it. Didn't drop it because I wasn't enjoying it, but rather because I kind of just forget to watch it- perhaps I just didn't care enough to do so. But by no means was I hating it, even with our typical wimpy main character here. But the 2nd season is a week or two away and just around the corner, so f*ck it. Let's pick this back up again. And dang, maybe my tastes have changed a little since then, but I don't remember liking this sh*t THIS much. Anyway, I like how Senpai here actually makes a valiant attempt to put on a tough act, when pressing Nagatoro to specify what she means by "sleazy". She is taken aback a bit at first by this sudden change in a slightly intimidating character, but she finds her grounds again quickly and in fact fires back at Senpai, who is unable t o recover. But soon they are both defeated when somehow they find themselves surrounded by couples being all lovey-dovey underneath the fireworks. Speaking of background characters, but a minor pet peeve of mine is when an anime/manga decides to go for the artistic choice of not drawing in eyes of background characters. I'm assuming it's meant to put complete focus on our MAIN characters, but something about it is just slightly unnerving. Also how could I forget, but thanks to the brief flashbacks that Senpai had in the second half here, I just remembered how beautiful the handwashing soap scene was in one of the earlier episodes. How could I forget such greatness. I am looking forward to more. And a big W today for mr. Paisen here (or should I say, ERO-MANGA SENSEI) who basically stole a harem of girls away from those two guys. |

| Guess Senpai is getting a bit bolder with Nagatoro, though he still loses if the clash. Gamo certainly got a lot friendlier in the recent episodes, she's definitely shipping them both hard. |

| Hilarious, insightful, empathetic humor that feels and is authentic. It reminds me of my teenage years. With this kind of heart and mind behind the production this anime simply can't go wrong. |
