| Well there's already the fact that an anime doesn't need to be perfect for me to give it a 10. It's simply perfect in my eyes (it's pretty rare for me to be completely blown away by a show so when that happens, I know I just watched something special). However not every show on my list is a show I gave a 10 to, half of them received a 9. They are flawed, but they also have a lot of redeeming qualities that make me forget about the rest, however I cannot truly close my eyes on what prevented me from loving them as much as I loved the others. |

| There are no perfect shows for me. For something to be perfect it has to be better than anything else and for anime there are always scenes in other shows with cleaner animation or a better soundtrack. To ask your question. NO. If only 10s are favorites then i would only have 2 favorite anime which is not the case. 8s and 9s can be favorites they just change depending on my mood. If i think a show is amazing and one of the best of the year but it did not reach the heights on any show i gave a 10 it still will be a favorite of mine despite not being a 10. |

| No, not all of my favorites are 10s as I can call some anime that have a lower score also being a favorite of mine. Quick example would be Detective Conan. I really love the show and would call it a big favorite of mine but it has some flaws and repeats itself over and over again and I cannot give it a 10 and perhaps not even the 9 that I currently gave but I will still call it one of my favorites. |

| It depends on what you mean by favorite. #1 favorite, all-time top favorite? I would assume it always would be a 10 because I rate partially based on the subjective experience of what the anime provides to me on a deeper level psychologically rather than just more formal criteria about the quality of animation, direction, sound, etc. So I think of almost all of my 10s as not technically perfect and yet still masterpiece-tier. And therefore because I factor in enjoyment and personal value delivered rather than just trying to be some objective critic which is impossible anyway, it stands to reason that my most favorite would always be a 10-rated series. Now, that's if you're referring to my #1 or even top five - to be the favorite rather than a favorite, as in one among a longer list. If I'm considering my entire Top 20, it's a different matter. I have seven 10/10s in my Top 20, 11 9/10s, and two 8/10s. |
| as long as you feel its accomplishments and things it does well outweigh its flaws, then you can rate it whatever you want. Pulp Fiction has a bunch of continuity errors and things that don't make sense (like Vincent moving around and driving a car after shooting up heroin), but I love every other aspect of the movie so much that it doesn't stop the movie from being a 10/10 for me |

Your list should reflect your own tastes, not what the general consensus on objective quality of a show is. |

| Tbh some of my favorite animes are rated as 9/10, it depends on how much impact had caused the anime in me... there are several 9/10 animes which had a bigger impact in me than some of the others I have as 10/10, but the latter are mostly because they were some of the ones that introduced me to anime |

| A favorite show doesn't have to be a good show. Hell one of my favorite shows is Soul eater i rewatch it every october because of that fact. Is it a good show? Debateable but I love it. |

My personal favourites are series and movies that resonated with me personally, because of a specific character/ setting/ theme/ idea explored in a certain way/ line of dialogue, etc....and for this reason, these series and movies didn't have to be perfect necessarily. I'm a fan, not a fanboy...I have personal favourites rated 9, 8...and even 7/10 for a season 2 in the case of a particular series. |

| definitely not. as I always say. Anime quality (in this case its score) should be objective. any individual preference should be kept minimum. but the rate of enjoyment can be subjective. among my favorites were: -K-On! -Eyeshield 21 -Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru tbh I can't recall what's wrong with those animes. story flaws I guess? being a casual anime with no clear goal? I remembered the graphics were top-notch. or their back-sound is not that great I guess :/ |

| The only two 10 rated shows on my fav list are Magic Kaito 1412 and Legend of the Galactic Heroes. The others are 9s. I do have 14 10/10 rated shows overall, but I just remember 00, Code Geass R1, and K Project more fondly and I had great memories from when these aired so thats the reason none of my other 10s made it to the list. They are however a part of my extended favorites on the link in my profile cause I have more than 10 favorite anime. |

| The ones I rate 10 are the ones I think are the best, and the ones I like the most. I have some favourites outside of my 10/10, despite knowing that they aren't that good. Just because I personally like something or am biased towards something doesn't mean I'll give it a 10/10. |

| Yes, I rate my anime off of enjoyment so even if the story is so trash but is still entertaining, it will get a good rating and even if the plot's trash, if I can have a good time with it, it can be a favorite. |

| Nah, but a 10 score isn't exactly "perfection" either (unless you decide otherwise) so it really comes down to your scoring preferences and how you define a favorite show. What differentiates a 10 from a 9 or 8? That's up to you to decide and assign to shows. Does it make a favorite less of a favorite? Maybe, if you rank/sort your favorite shows. But a favorite show is still a favorite show, regardless of what score you give it. |
