That was a pretty awesome public bath. They even had a place where you could catch live crawfish and have it cooked on the spot!

Much better than the last episode. I'm glad that they on focus Mizusaki backstory. It was something the show needed.
All weebs creatures of the galaxy, hear this message. Those of you who listen will not be struck by western animation. You will no longer know hunger, nor pain. Your Anime have come to lead you now. Our strength shall serve as a luminous sun toward which all intelligence may blossom. And the impervious shelter beneath which you will prosper. However, for those who refuse our offer and cling to their western animation ways… For you, there will be great wrath.

I loved the first part where they focused on Mizusaki's backstory.

The bath scene was amusing.

I wonder how many obsolete recording formats Doumeki has. Elcaset? DAT? MiniDisc?

The part with the grandma and how studying people's movements helped Tsubame to help her was absolutely wonderful.

Clients with unreasonable demands are the worst...

A lot of animation study even on the way home. ^_^

We got some glimpse at child Mizusaki and it was interesting.
Asakusa surprised for winning an argument against kanamori lmao
i'm hating on that random nerd from the art club.

Can't go wrong with that backstory.

I was wondering how much time will it take to find anything there since it's not digitized. Nightmare.

It's reassuring to see i'm not the only one who was surprised to see Doumeki in a girl uniform.

Wholesome to see Mizusaki help her grandma with the use of her anatomical drawings. Dammit art club guy, you had only one job and you blew it...is it really that difficult to follow the few instructions you had?

1) Mizusaki helping her grandma = there's a tear coming out of my eye right now........

2) I love the chemistry between Asakusa and Kanamori, lol xD

3) That final speech.......................................... That's why I love Mizusaki! A real visionary with genuine feelings as an artist that makes her so real......

Pretty solid episode, where I loved the bits where they focused on Tsubame Mizusaki's backstory and showed how much she loves and visualizes the world of animation, and how from a kid itself she was interested in bringing various types of drawings to life. The anime did a really good job in showing that passion developing really well over the course of time, especially towards a project like the one they're working on.

What's the deal with splashing out tea? It's wasteful! xD One can have pretty weird influences for becoming an animator, it seems... Loved Mizusaki's movements and expressions here (like falling on a sofa)

The bathhouse crawfish probably served as an inspiration for the kaijuu haha

That cut with a rocket in space seemed like a nod to Anno's famous cut from Honneamise! Though that's how rockets work in general, I can't help but think of him.

Also, it was the first episode to actually show a class, and that's a school setting we're talking about

I feel kind of sorry for both Asakusa and the Art Club guy. The former is frustrated because the channel from her imagination to the page is being blocked. The latter is frustrated because he wasn't given clear instructions and is now getting yelled at for not being a kind reader. And Kanamori is frustrated that she has to work with all these creative types.

This show is way too much, everything turns into a long winded explanation or speech about how great animation is, I know it's part of the charecter's personalities, but still it's too much. The show doesn't ever let up either, honestly I think that's a problem with this director's later work in general, he doesn't seem to know how to give his viewers downtime in order to process the massive amount of information that has been shoved into their face. His newer stuff always ends up being too mentally and physically draining for me.

The art guy was clearly told NOT to do the things that he did. He was told to not put that car in there, multiple times if I remember right, he was told to try to stick to the examples he was given. I think the problem is more that he doesn't understand the difference between bg art and art that's going to be on display in galleries, and from his attitude, doesn't really care about this project at all.
