For those who don't know what this is, everybody will submit a manga of their choice and it will go to the pool with all the other manga. Then, everyone who submitted a manga will get a manga chosen randomly from the pool to read, and you have 2 months time to read it. You won't get a manga you've started already. Make sure your list is up to date to ensure this or post in this thread which manga you have read.
1) You may not add any of the following:
Hentai, or anything that's basically softcore hentai. Heavily graphic content is okay, as long as it's not the appeal.
Anything you think is bad. This game is not to make people read bad manga, but rather to give people manga to read that they might not normally read. I reserve the right to ban a manga from entry if I suspect that the person submitting it is trolling and ask them to use a substitute (this is not directly related to whether I think the manga in question is good or bad).
Anything you haven't read. You're not required to have finished the manga, but if you haven't read a significant portion of it, you cannot nominate it.
Anything from the previous two rounds of the roulette (or already nominated in this one).
Anything longer than 100 chapters, assuming normal chapter length. Longer manga might be okay if the total page count doesn't go above 2500 (ask to make sure). I'm more lenient towards long chapters, but if the manga has over 70+ pages per chapters and 100 chapters it might not be the best idea.
Anything shorter than 20 chapters. If the chapters are long (50+ pages) it might be okay, ask beforehand.
Sequels. Nominate the first part, and only the first part. If they want to continue after the first part they are free to do so. I'll make an exception to this if a sequel is needed to make 20 chapters, then including enough sequels to make 20 chapters is okay.
Doujinshi from a previously established universe (this MIGHT be okay if it exclusively uses original characters and doesn't imply you're familiar with the universe), or anything else that heavily implies you've seen or read something before.
Nothing that hasn't been translated to English yet (duh). You must provide a non-shady link to read the manga if someone asks for it.
No western comics. Manhua/Manwha/webcomics are okay, and they do not need a MAL entry.
No light novels. Light novels aren't manga. I don't care how many images they have. No japanese children's picture books or anything else someone eventually will argue is enough manga to be nominated but obviously shouldn't be allowed either.
Nothing that's incomplete. It does not need to be complete on MAL, but it needs to be complete. Sometimes MAL groups sequels together with the first manga, then it's still fine to nominate the first part.
If you don't have anything legal to nominate, but still want to participate I might accept a manga that breaks one of these rules (it still has to be a translated non-hentai manga though, no exceptions to those rules). If you do this, it's best to give me a couple manga and why they break the rules so I can pick the most fitting one out of the bunch.
If you don't have anything to nominate at all, you can still participate. I will add a random manga from one of the earlier roulettes to the pool.
2) You must read your manga within 2 months. The ideal is 1 month, but I know sometimes one just doesn't have the time to finish it, so you have 1 extra month without penalties.
To be able to nominate for the next roulette, you need to have read at least 30% (rounded up) from the last Roulette and have no active penalties. I'll invalidate your submission if at the time you submit your manga you don't meet these conditions. I'll look them up in your list, so you should keep it updated. If I noticed that you didn't meet that criteria but you changed the chapters read at some point to deceive me, I'll penalize accordingly.
3) If you add a manga that everyone else in the roulette already has read, I'll put that entry on a 5 months cooldown and pick a random manga from your list you rated at least 0.5 above your mean score. If that method doesn't get me a valid entry, I'll randomize something from an earlier roulette instead.
4) I reserve the right to change these rules at any time. I'm not perfect, don't try to abuse the rules just because I missed something. In any case, I will try not to apply rules retroactively if they don't benefit users, unless there's a blatant case of abuse.
Penalizations
Penalizations are in effective the month you drop your manga. You have 2 months to read your manga, and after that time it will be considered dropped. Dropped manga will get the maximum penalty according to how much of it you read before dropping. If you don't finish the manga after the deadline, you will get penalized with the maximum penalty according to how many chapters you read before the deadline. If you finish your manga your penalty will be reduced to the minimum (according to how many chapters you read in time). Note that penalizations doesn't stack and run out independently.
You can also declare your manga dropped during the month you got your manga instead of waiting for the time to run out. If you do that, you'll get the penalisation according to how many chapters you read before dropping. If you do that, you cannot pick the manga again and reduce the penalty time that way (technically you can pick it up again, but it won't reduce it either way). This is useful if you're 100% sure that you won't pick it up again, because your penalty starts one month earlier.
If you don't finish your manga in time, you get a 4 month penalty that get reduced to a 1 month penalty if you finish your manga.
Penalisation time is long, and sometimes you get something that you really cannot stand. You have the choice to say you don't want a manga (it's explained later in this post), although it's not unlimited if you haven't read/watched/played/whatever the source material or an adaptation. For situations like this, there is a points system. Every time you finish your manga or complete something in the intermittent roulettes, you will get 1 point. Points can be spent in a couple of different ways:
You can spend 2 points to watch the anime, read the VN, or otherwise experience the material in a different format than manga. This is only applicable if it's a complete or near-complete adaption if the manga is the source material. If the manga is adapted (not merely inspired) from a different source, you can always spend points to make the swap. I have to confirm this beforehand, so always ask.
You can spend 3 points to reroll your manga, ie you get a new manga that has been submitted sometime earlier in a roulette (chosen at random) that you have to read instead of the one you got
You can spend 5 points to just straight up skip your manga, meaning you don't have to read anything and still get no penalty
I'll accept submissions until the 1st of January, then I will randomize the results (honestly I might end up randomizing the 2nd... but theoretically I'll do it the 1st). Once randomized, you will know what manga you have to read, and you should read it until 1st of February.

If you have watched the source of a manga and you don't want to read the adaptation, or if you have strong feelings of animosity against it (you have to say why, and I won't accept the likes of "I don't like the genre" as an excuse. I'll definitely keep in mind if you systematically try to avoid manga for no evident reason), please SAY SO before the randomisation starts. To say that, if you watched the source you don't need any specific format, but if you have other reason (strong feelings of animosity) you have to stress that you do not want the manga by either bolding or underlining the not. Once everyone gets their manga, the only reclamation I'll accept is that you already have your manga in your list or that you already told me that you didn't want it in a proper way. To make it 100% clear, I will NOT check anyone's anime lists, vndb, browsing history or other lists to check if you have read the source material of something, YOU HAVE TO WRITE IT IN THIS THREAD.
The number next to your name is what roulette edition you're allowed to participate in if you don't finish your manga, the manga is what you have to read in order to get a lower penalty, the number next to the chapters read is the edition in which your penalisation started, NOT the edition in which you got the manga. If you have a D after your entry, you can't lower your penalty because you dropped it definitively. If you don't have chapters read it's because you didn't start your manga.
I'd love if you let me know in the comments that you finished your manga. That way, you can discuss it with other members (especially the one who submitted it) and it makes it easier for me to make the count.

You don't have prove you got it when you know it's yours
I'm thinking of changing the points system a bit so that:
a) You get a point for every time you finished a manga, regardless of how long it took you (saves me bookkeeping). You also get a point for each thing you finish in the intermittent roulettes, and you can use these as you wish. These will be given retroactively from the start of the roulette.
b) You can spend 2 points to change the format of your thing (like watching the anime instead of reading the manga)
c) You can spend 3 points to reroll your manga, ie you get a new manga that has been submitted sometime earlier in a roulette (chosen at random)
d) You can spend 5 points to just straight up skip your manga (doesn't matter how far in you got)
e) I might allow spending a point to veto getting specific anime/manga (ie you can spend a point BEFORE I randomize to ensure you won't get a specific thing).
I'm also thinking of changing the penalization system, either so that you get a straight 3 month penalty if you don't finish your manga in time or something similar to the intermittent roulettes where you get as much time as you want to finish your manga, but you can only have 2 "active" manga at the same time.
Thoughts?
(note: if I decide to change it, it'll start applying from the start of this roulette)

Updated the rules (point system/penalization), see the OP for details. I'll randomize tomorrow, so y'all have the rest of today to join in case anyone still want in.

Punkero said: Can I ask to be allowed to participate without nominating anything this time?
Yes, that is okay (I'll randomize a manga from the one's that have been nominated in earlier roulettes as a placeholder, which is fair game for anyone that hasn't read it etc)

@Felix-san mhm it did have some introduction for the enemies, & little stuff about them, but for me it didn't matter, & I would still read Spiral then the spin off, it's more interesting this way, & it's much more than that, & it's all gonna be explained later in the main series.
I finished Spiral: Suiri no Kizuna
It's been a while since I read a manga that left me anxious to finish my duties soon to go home and read on.
9/10. I was sad because Narumi did not accept Hiyoko with girlfriend, but at least they met at the end and Hilbert's bow was too long in my opinion.
But it has become one of my favorites.
The battle is over.

who fought so bravely.
@Mikochondria
I just can't get bothered to finishing this, on top of having not interest on it at all, I can only find it online (not downloadable) which is a pain to me unless it's short (2 vol max) or something I want to read out of my own will.
Can I ask to use 5 point to skip this entirely?

I'm happy you liked it, I watched the anime before a decade or so, & I love it but there was no 2nd season, I was disappointed as they didn't finish the story!!!!, back then I was not into manga, & didn't really know about it, & I just remembered it & finally read it, this really was satisfying, lot of things happened one after another, it was so enjoyable to read, I was shipping Narumi and Hiyoko so yeah it was sad about them </3
