| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Wow, seeing all these adults cheering on for the kids almost bought a tear to my eye. Felt like they made the episode feel much more alive. Glad there's such a responsible coach for Tsubasa and the others. The team seem really concentrated on their plans too. As for Wakabayashi (the goalie), I like that determination in his eyes. |

| Aaaaaaaand there it comes. The long awaited 6-episode match against Shutetsu. I really hope I am wrong and they tone it down to 4 episodes. But considering how faithful they are to the manga... Really great episode anyways. David Production's animation style is really enjoyable. |

| Finally we get a full match episode and it was great. This adaptation is flawless and the animation of the game was great from movement to shoot. The match might end at episode 9 may be. |
| Nice to see a whole episode dedicate to a part of a match. Kinda reminds me of Kaiji where in 1 gamble, it takes many episodes. So this match may follow that style. Still, a great episode and David Production has really done a nice job with the animation of the football action. I doubt it would go in if its a cliffhanger but I dont care, I'm still hyped for the next episode. |
| it is annoying this reviews, well originally it was worse if I remember correctly. the reviews+previews where many times around half episode, they got rid of the priviews wish they had do the same to the reviews |

| Good moments in this episode. Everyone did good, they got better from the training. Tsubasa is a monster when it comes to defence/attack. His dad made an appearances, feels great to see everyone cheering on them. That curve almost giving a score. Wakabayashi got scaried there, but he have enormous determination. I was waiting for Tsubasa to change position, about time. The cliffhanger though. |

| And in the next episode, we'll see Misaki play!! I can't wait! (even though he wasn't my favorite childhood character in this anime...) Amazing episode, it brings me a lot of nostalgia... And David Productions did a wonderful job with the match's animation!! |

| Old version of the match was better. I rewatched it, and they skipped a lot of fun moments already, like the glasses kid from Tsubasa's team defending a close call goal. It's also weird Tsubasa's mom didn't react to his dad's return, his appearance felt rushed. I feel like the classic had more life put into it. |

| Fantastic episode. I still can't express how happy I am that the matches are actually animated and not still frames or 3DCG. Props to David Production! Thank You. Tsubasa showing why he's the boss around here, them long drives, them dribbles, them corner shots. No one except Genzou's a match for him. Considering what the next episode title means, IT'S HAPPENING!!! I can't wait to see it. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but I remember Shuutetsu wearing a Green Jersey in the original 1980's anime. Wonder why they changed it. |

Fidelity to the source material which is the manga. It was the 80s anime that changed a lot of the kits in the first place. Oh, so the original anime changed the kits? I wasn't aware of that. Didn't Road to 2002 also have Green jersey's or am I just remembering incorrectly? |

| A full match episode! This was great, the new adaptation is almost perfect. It's funny how as a kid I never noticed all the flaws that this anime has and how it exaggerates basically everything, sometimes it doesn't even make sense like how Tsubasa always decides to shoot from outside the box instead of just making his way towards the goalkeeper and just tapping it in. This is not me complaining though, I fully understand what Tsubasa is supposed to be and the impact it had on football greats like Messi and Iniesta. |

Well, they do have to tone down the number episode to 50+ only so that's nothing abnormal. Man, the vibe of this anime is intense as hell! Hype for next episode is real! |

The cliffhanger though. i've not seen the beginning of the original captain tsubasa..but just random episodes here and there, and i can tell where this is going based on his long distance kick it will bounce of the upper post and does a scissor kick and maybe score a goal |

| I do agree. This anime is extremely underrated. Easily the best sport anime this year so far. I feel like American/English audience don't like soccer game so much |

| "i hate losers" what bad parenting... this is kind of sport i excepted from the anime, glad the anime filling my expectations, i don't even care anymore about tsubasa stupid smile, this is how soccer game suppose to be. |
| I love seeing this game between Tsubasa and Wakabayashi reanimated; it just gets you bumped up. I've been watching and reading far too many sports anime and manga lately. They’re literally too addicting. Tsubasa’s dad isn’t helping in this circumstance 💀 i forgot how out of pocket some parents are in here. |
