| Steins;Gate was a masterpiece. It was absolutely fabulous! Now Steins;Gate 0 which is the sequel of the alternate ending of Steins;Gate is finally released and it already has a score of 9.20 and is ranked #2 anime on MAL even though only one episode is released yet. Anyway, if any of you have played the Visual Novel of Steins;Gate 0 then do you believe it is capable of defeating FMAB and acquiring the first rank on MAL? Does it keep getting better as the story goes on after episode 1? |

| Dont think so. some haters will try to keep it down. Im not even sure if it will stay in number 2. to be honest I have not even watched it (yet) but if it´s turns to be as impressive as the original one, It would be fine if at least it stays among the top 50 anime. |

| Maybe yes, maybe not. If it's a good adaptation, it surely will deserve it but I don't think the Gintama/FMA/Your Name fanboys will accept that (or even the fanboys of the original who hate S;G 0 cause of no reason). |

| FMAB will never leave the top 1. there will be cases like kimi no na wa where a short number of votes will make some anime get the top 1 for a time, but eventually FMAB will be back at the top 1 spot and it will stay there as it always stays |

| As a reader of the original VN and the 0 VN, I would be totally shocked if it got a higher score than the original. Steins;Gate 0 doesn't hold a candle to the original Steins;Gate, sorry. I would give the S;G 0 VN an 8/10, with the original getting a 10/10. Of course, the anime adaptation is different than the source material, but adapting an 8/10 VN into a 10/10 anime would be a difficult task for any anime producer in existence. The first episode was indeed better than anticipated, but my issues with the VN occur later on in the story, so we'll see how it plays out. Either way, getting the #1 spot once the show is done is totally out of the question. |
| Although I am immensely excited myself to watch this season for the next 6 months, I'm pretty sure this huge rating spike is just hypetrainism. If the rest of the anime delivers as well as the premiere, then I don't doubt for a second it'll float in the top 10 forever, as the first season has for the last seven years. But will it take #1 in the end? Only time will tell. Steins;Gate was #1 for a good while after it finished after all. |
