Along with airing anime, I usually only focus on 1 or 2 anime. I always leave movies that are due to release soon in my watching list so that I don't forget about watching them as soon as I get some sort of news about a release date.

One by myself, one with a friend of mine when I visit him, one with another friend of mine when he visits me. I tried doing more than one on my own and it ended up bogging me down (I would routinely play favorites and stuff got lost in the shuffle until eventually I had to just drop a heap of shows and stop watching anime for a good two months).

I usually watch 10-17 at the same time. Yes, I'm crazy.
A lot of of the airing shows since they're weekly, and 1-4 completed anime to keep me busy.

A simple feeling that I can't seem to shake

2) i keep up with a couple of weekly anime that interest me alongside it.

I'll be watching upwards of 20 shows this season, but I'll probably going drop about half of them before the season is over, and a handful after the third episode

I'm also occasionally watching chunks of some long running ones (some of which are complete). But only because I have so much time at the moment to do so.

Since I don't tend to watch seasonal anime, I only watch about 1-3 at a time.
I like to watch most of them from start to end before starting another one, but if it's one that has a lot of episodes, I'll take a break from it once in a while and watch a shorter series and then go back to the longer one. Or occasionally (like now) I'll watch one that's being shown on TV while I marathon other anime.

When I first began watching anime, I would watch only one series, but I would watch as many episodes as I could. Sometimes I could even watch a 25 episode series from beginning to end, in a day, oh how I miss those carefree days. Now however, I'm watching a few airing series. The number of airing series doesn't really matter, although I try not to watch too many because I have a problem of not being able to keep up with remembering to watch them every week. I also have series that I watch on the side, which are the series that I most want to watch at the moment, and also series that I may be watching as part of some challenge. I'm also trying to grind out an episode of One Piece a day, but I've been slack as of recent haha.

I must admit. I'm pretty strict with myself.

- When it comes to long series (generally above 50/60 episodes and beyond) I only watch one at a time. That way I'm more guaranteed to actually finish it. When I begin feeling fatigued, with - said - long series, (which is pretty common with for me), I like to take a break and watch a shorter series. Usually around 13 to 24 episode ones. This break will re-energise my enthusiasm for it. Once finished, I take a vacation away from long series until I feel ready to watch another. Rinse and repeat.

- Shorter series, I really try to watch no more then two at a time, but sometimes I have a spur of the moment watch and it becomes three. So the limit for me is three. (Not counting longer series, films, ovas, specials, ect...)

- Films I'll watch anytime. There's no limit.

- Seasonal Anime I don't watch much of, but when I do it's how many I like.

- Finally as for the rest; Ovas, Specials, Ona, one shots, ect... Depending on how long they are I'll watch also at anytime.

Sorry for rambling on. Keeping to a strict routine helps me do other stuff outside of Anime.

It varies for me. Sometimes I'll start something with 24+ episodes and exclusively watch it til I finish it.
Other times, I'll watch a few episodes of a long series per day, and stay current with some seasonal shows as well.

Typically I'll only stay current with 4-6 airing shows at most, saving the rest til after they're done.
Some seasons, the few I keep up with week by week all air within a 2-3 day stretch, then the rest of the week is open to catch up on others in the collection not watched yet.

You're never too old to watch anime.

Only one. I like to focus and experience one anime at a time.

I'd probably watch multiple if I ever cared to watch airing anime though. Rarely though if I end up getting bored with a specific anime then I might draft off into another.

I did this with Inuyasha around the 90s because it was like filler after filler which was boring me. Ended up watching slowly and picked up another anime, then ended up just putting Inuyasha on hold altogether and breezed through a few other animes before returning to Inuyasha.

I guess it's normal to watch only 1 show at a time if you are new to anime. I did that too when I started watching. But for most people that changes as time passes by, especially if you decide to watch seasonal. Now I watch 8-12 anime at once, 1-3 which have already finished airing and the rest airings.

I watch them one at a time before I made an MAL account.
After I've an MAL I can start more anime because I ain't losing track of the episode counts,. So that I can pick the right anime to watch depends on my mood, and it also helps my enjoyment (usually it's something like 5 different comedy/SoL, 1 more serious anime and 1 battle harem).

There are no fixed amount of seasonal anime, it depends on I'm interested in how many of them. I only followed 2 last season, but I am following 12 this season. I sometimes don't watch any seasonal too.
