Interesting episode. This one focused more on background storytelling from the Tomie and Komo.

There's a bit of emotions expressed this episode as well. I feel like the pacing slowed down a bit with the action but the show itself has done a decent job with expressing the characters' roles. Sekizan does have a vulnerable side after all.

Great episode, was really emotional as well.

Loved the conversation between the coach and his friend in the first half, It's really nice of him to think of the boys from Jinko as his own kids. :)

Keta's breakdown and quitting was really sad to watch and pretty emotional. Though for me the real emotional part of the episode was when Sekizan felt so bad that he wasn't able to even stop one teammate from quitting, Teared up as he broke down in front of the coach. T.T Really glad the coach was able to motivate and reassure him that he isn't alone. :D
This series keeps getting better and better.

Very well structured episode.

We start with the coach and we get to know that he could never have kids with his wife. We get to see his softer side which just comes out more and more in his old age.

Sekizan and Keta, that was a sad scene. The inner conflict with himself gives Sekizan real pain, he thinks that he was the cause.

And then everything comes together for one great payoff for Sekizan and the coach. We know now for sure that the coach thinks of them as his kids, his wife wants to see them as well. He comforted Sekizan and reassured him.

Makes for the best episode of the series.

I feel very sorry for Keta: he was a special snowflake, and Sekki is really a great captain and character overall.

Personally I didn't really care for, or get emotional about, the scene with Keta quitting. I don't think he was even significant up to this point, so seeing a minor character leave didn't make me feel the way it was trying to make me feel. On the flip side, I did find Sekizan's breakdown in front of the coach to be more emotionally impactful, and that was well done.

It was also nice to get some backstory on the coach when he was eating with his old friend.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

I seem to be in the minority, but I haven't enjoyed All Out! since the break. Episode 13 and 14 attempt to create character development, but it feels inserted out of place. I look forward to getting back to Rugby, and I hope they go back to what worked.

Eps 1-12 = 8/10
Eps 13 & 14 = 4/10

Really nice episode! I enjoyed the back story of Coach and the part with Keta was emotional.
So glad that I'm not a huge manga reader, because the manga readers WHINE WAY TOO MUCH and have to RUIN every adapted anime for the ANIME ONLY WATCHERS!

The Coach and Sekizan are such great characters and they're also quite similar. Very tough, but extremely empathetic. They both have a heart of gold.

Sorry to say it, but nope, it will be one more episode with dem feels.
I don't mind such episodes though, at last we're getting more characterization and I can't help but love the characters more every episode.

While I really liked the first part with the coach and his friend, I thought that the reaction to Keta quitting the club was a bit exaggerated.

I was actually surprised more people didn't quit sooner. Also pretty uneventful after last week's filler ep. The coach is my favorite character though--the rest are one-dimensional :(

To quote another user;

"Omg it like a break up xD"

sums it up nicely ;P
Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.
I might be crazy. So, what's the problem?

I'm not really a fan of how the emotianal scene over Keta was executed in the anime. Manga had more impact.
Overall, can say the same for the whole episode including the chat between Komori-san and his mate Yu-chan...the thing, mentioning that Komori-san's wife can't have children. Also the flashback when she finds out, in the manga she actually does this:

Next episode should feature a mature situation. Hopefully madhouse delivers the atmosphere.

Say what? Why push himself to death? It's not worth it, at least for him. If he can't, he can't! It's simply not for him. If the sport bothers his health and life ofc he'll quit. It's the most rational decision someone can make and he has justified reason to аct like that. The situation basically touched to reality i.e. it essentially happens irl with plenty of athletes out there, no? They simply can't stand it and that's it. There's no one to blame here.

That actually seems more impactful . Too bad.

I liked the episode, but I'm itching for more rugby action.

There were some awkward shots and animation which annoyed me somehow..

Keta quit the club because he's not physically fit for the extreme training of rugby.
The OST on the last part of this episode was so great!
4/5.

First part was about the coach, it's nice that they not only talked about Rugby.
It was amazing how they succeed to create strong and emotional feelings about Keta that we almost never seen before. Sekizan also looked more "human", good job to his seiyuu.

I liked the coaches backstory and my god it must have been a hard time when he and his wife heard that she can't get kids. At least now when he became a coach he feels like he's doing something important which is great.

Sad to see Keta wasn't able to hang on with the training due to his weak physical state. You could tell he loves the team and actually didn't want to quit. Seeing how much it hurts Sekizan was really sad. But the coach is right with what he said at the end. It's not his fault and he's not alone.
