Do you ever stop watching/take a break during an episode?

I was watching Welcome to the NHK the other day and I stopped at the middle of the episode which indicates a commercial break. During this time, I got something to eat and was watching the rest of the episode within five minutes. Just curious if anyone has ever stopped watching during an episode or maybe even multiple times during an episode.

Usually if I'm called to eat. If I don't eat when I'm called they will take out the food of the table and refuse to feed me. =(

If the anime is very boring I will walk away to do things without even stopping. Important things, like going to the toilet or going to look at Gackt's poster.

Yeah, quite a bit. Usually something comes to mind and I'll start browsing the internet for a few hours.

Or in my case, if I am distracted.
Depends on what I'm watching of course, the less intriguing, the bigger the chance that I'll suddenly think of something I need to do and wander off.
I think my record was five hours or something. I can't recall exactly what it was I was doing, or which series it was, but I imagine it must have been a rather trite one.

Yes. Usually for food.
The same with manga, leaving half-read manga chapter open for hours,
sometimes even days. My FireFox is always open aswell.

It completely depends on the anime. If it's mind-blowingly awesome, I'll hold all bodily functions and desires (food, sleep, bathroom breaks, ect.) until I've not only finished THAT episode, but a few ones after it.

If it's extremely boring, I'll probably stop halfway through and just go take a nap, even if it's in the middle of the day.

It happens when I'm distracted... pretty much all the time then.
Sadly I have a short attention span.

Depends on the anime/episode. If it's heavy on the plot or just awesome, I tend to watch the entire episode without any breaks.
If not, I can stop in the middle of an episode for a bathroom break or if I have to eat something. Sometimes I usually start browsing the internet and chat too.

I usually do this stuff in between episodes if I'm watching a good anime though.

I usually try to finish an ep then write something on few different forums, check facebook and watch again. But I sometimes answer skype calls etc while in the middle of an episode.

I sometimes had to take breaks with Welcome to NHK because some of the episodes made me feel like crap.

It's a powerful show, I swear.

I always watch anime while doing something else. So I don't look at the screen all the time (and no, I don't pause the show either).

Only if I need to:

- Pee.

- Eat.

- Prevent the world from total destruction.

- Erase some distraction such as:

- Alien attack.

- Demon trying to steal my milk.

Usually when
~ Someone knocks at my door/comes in
~ I gotta sastify my texting addiction
~ Bathroom break
~ I have a sudden urge to listen to music instead
~ The anime is hella boring
~ The internet distracts me

I eat when I watch anime in my room as I am a prisoner in my own home due to emotional abuse. No srsly. According to my Oma and Opa, I'm a failure in life because I chose college over finding a job.

Sometimes, if the episode is boring or dragging on, I do a lot and get distracted too easily:

> listen to a song, which leads to listening to DDR, which leads to playing DDR for the next hour or two

> to get a snack, then possibly just end up having breakfast/lunch/dinner

> to play a video games

> to stretch, then maybe do a full workout, then maybe a nap

> bathroom break, then maybe a bath or shower

Doesn't happen often though.. Probably once or twice?

No, I watch the episode without breaks. If I take a break, then I would just forget what happened in the past few minutes in that episode, so I need to rewind it.

I'm lazy when it comes to rewinding.

when I decide to make a cup of coffee or get food...
when my brother call me over to watch NBA top 10 plays of the week...
when my brother call me over because he did a cool play while playing NBA2k10...
When my parents arrive in the living room...
When my brother complain cause he want to play internet game... because anime is downloaded thus I can watch anytime I want and his game is not...

that's about it.

Normally, I don't, but I mutlitask depending on what I'm watching; I multitask better with a 4:3 series as it doesn't eat up my screen space (and I don't like fullscreening 4:3 shows on my 16:9 laptop).

If somethings boring me, I'll pay more attention to something else than what I was watching, which usually leads me to just trying to understand the dialogue.

I rarely do this since knowing me if i stop at any part of the episode I might get distracted and not finish watching said episode. .___.

But when it does happen it tends to go for 5-10min.

all the time. Sometimes I even watch part of an episode while eating breakfast, then go to class for 3 hours, and then come back and watch the rest. Of course it can be a problem if I forgot what was happening.

All the time. Whether it's to grab something to eat or the bathroom or sometimes I just grab something from my room.

Sometimes 3-4 times an episode.

Often! At times The episode just doen't have my attention. Other times, I want to look up a reference. My latest thing is to find the external shot on google earth street veiw. The last Duradura epi, they had the big plaza in ikebukuro - found it. The anime version was identical to the actual location. with google street view, it's like standing right where the animator skeched it!
