I remember this episode. I've seen the full series but this has to be one of my favourites.
I love how Konata acts when she's gaming and stuff. Really nerdy, those are my favourite bits. When she finds the sword and when she's fishing really makes me want to get into an MMO again. I played Maplestory but I feel like something where I have to gather things too, fishing etc. Anyone know one? It would have been awesome if the game Konata was playing was an actual game or a mock version of it.
Later, when she said 'desho, desho', it sounded like it came straight out of the Haruhi OP. Oh and Lucky Channel was awesome again, so hilarious. Last but not least, Aya went all out on the DBZ Karaoke... xD.
I think that's all :P.
LOL yup,Its the opening..But I really enjoyed the DBZ song :))
Its really funny :))
I always rewind it!
I really liked that part.
"CHA LA! HEAD CHA LA!"
LOL i fell off my chair.
But I really Like Miyuki.
I remembered Konata..
she's really moe.
and tsukasa thinking "balsamic vinegar" the whole day made me crack up xD
Yeah, and thinking it the way the guy on TV said it: "Balsa-micvin-eGAR~" So cute. Like when she gets cotton candy on her nose and Kagami removes it and eats it. I like that they pretty much get along well. :)
I don't know how many people know the references from the liner notes (me, for most of them), and how many know them from the relevant media, but hey.
Actually, according to Wikipedia, the name of the Blue Hawaii cocktail comes from the song in the film of the same name. It's "made of rum, pineapple juice, blue Curacao, sweet and sour mix, and sometimes vodka as well." I wonder if the one served at the matsuri would have the alcoholic elements; probably not. I mean, even though Japan's legal drinking age (20) is lower than America's, it's not that much lower.
I think they felt the vibration of her geta.
Oh, and balsamic vinegar will end up being another running gag, though not near on the level of coming in on the end of conversations involving stinky things.
That music when she's playing the MMO is really nice.
That felt like an ad for Comptiq. It's like those old shows where they shoehorn an obvious commercial into the plot.
It's kind of odd when they adapt a term into a really obvious English term, and someone still doesn't get it...
Ooh, she's getting upset about an upcoming character...
Konata's speeches are always so fun and with little room for reply, we remain displaced as in the scene of the shooting target with rifle, then it also puts her cousin! An anime so can not be counted Nelg annals! It is unique!
Starting to warm up to this anime a bit. Liked the MMO jokes, the additions of the teacher/cousin, the pokemon and fsn references, and most importantly as a True DBZ Fan the Cha La Op being sung by Aya at the end. Pretty impressive.
Best episode yet 5/5, may boost total score solely due to DBZ Homage.
This is probably a fierce necro, but what can I do.
I caught the most insanely obscure reference in this episode. When Konata is chatting with her teacher on the MMO they're playing, the in game music is referencing a really niche Japanese MMORPG called Corum Online. I was maybe 1 of 1000 people in the west who played that game xD
I actually jumped out of my chair and screamed NO WAY BRO!
