| Winter - Yurikuma. While I did find it a bit disappointing overall, i've gotten a more positive opinion of it as the year has gone on. I still have issues with it and its clear its not Ikuhara's entire vision, but it still has that Ikuhara touch to it. Inferior to his other works, but theres no way you could top something like Utena (which I still haven't seen, next year I promise) Spring - Hibike! Euphonium, easily. I'm a huge KyoAni fan and an even bigger Yamada fan, so it was only natural for me to gravitate towards this. Best anime of Spring and best anime of the year in my view. Eagerly anticipating the second season! Summer - Non Non Biyori S2 definitely. Sequel season to an great SoL and actually improved on it in every aspect. More of those sweet, calm moments as well some hard-hitting moments comedy-wise which I didn't expect. Also made me realize how much I adore Renge as a character. Special mention to Prison School this season for being a good adaptation of a great manga and Classroom Crisis for being... Classroom Crisis. Oh, and Little Witch Academia 2! Fall - Osomatsu probably, if I didn't count sequels. Counting sequels I might put Owarimonogatari? Honestly this is easily the weakest season, so there isn't a whole lot. Can I just put the Eupho OVA? Its been a pretty weak year for me personally, but I have an optimistic outlook towards the next year! Especially movie-wise. |
